Hokkien Mee, Farlim Bandar Raya stall, Penang.

After Yoga this monring,  my wife suggested to have Hokkien Mee at the Farlim Bandar Raya stalls. The  owner is one of the three finalist in the current Hawkers' championshp. When we reached the stall, the owner have pasted up  today's star news with his photographs and commentary on his stall.

I did not read the news but my wife told me that the owner have single-handedly brought up his two children who is now studying medicine.  He quit his job as an enginering technician and have since been selling his Hokkein mee, Frog porridge and fish head bee- hoon at several place.

It was raining this morning and there was only a few souls eating his Hokkien Mee including my wife and me. A women was helping him to collect the money while he does the cooking. The place was quite messy because of the rain . If you like the food then there should not be any complaint.

There was a long rows of shops at place and only a few was open for trade.  We have a stall selling vegetarian food and desserts, a wantan mee stall, a fast food stall, a bread and egg shop,  a chicken rice shop and a coffee shop selling drinks and fruit juice.  In Farlim, you can still find wantan mee selling for RM2.30 a plate and  Jawa mee for RM2.00 per plate or packet.  I told this offer to my KL friends and they were shocked and speechless. Where on earth you can get food at these price?

Not too far away from this bandar raya stalls, there was a big strait mall where Giant hypermarket was the anchor tenant.  This is the Four Seasons Mall and it will be housing big names like Tong Pak Fu, James Foo, Starbuck, Coffee Bean, Chatiime, Guardian Pharmacy, Georgetown Pharmacy, Ikan Bakar, Sub-way and many , many more which is yet to start business.

With these eating outlets, Farlim will be a food heaven catering for the economic food to fast food and crusine, etc. Of course, this small town is housing about 100,000 people  wtih multi-level flats, apartments, shoplots, houses, pubs, etc. If you so some simple calculations, if four persons own one car, there will be 25,000 cars in the locality. So, if it rains, you can imagine the massive jams as there only only limit access and outlet from this township.  OMG.....

This situation have been my dilemma and it started off with pig and chicken farms many, many years ago. I am choked and suffocating while waiting for more greenery and outlets out of the township.

What the @#$$%%%%^,

Namaste.
