M's graduation Day

My daughter M's graduation day today

The graduation ceremony of ATICS was scheduled to start at 10.30am and we managed to get there in time. As usual. it started off al, a bit delayed. There was about 160 over graduates and about 60 diploma graduates and another 100 certificate graduates from the airlines. ATICS is famous for their airline services trainees.

Today,I felt relieved that M have finally graduated and she has grown up so much. I could see that she is not so  emotional and crazy. Her 4 months working in Langkawi have changed her to be able to take care of herself and with this graduation , the knowledge and experience will come into good use.

There was so much joy and at the end of the ceremony, everyone have to go their own ways and M expressed her thoughts  in her FB asking " when they will meet again?". Well, in life there are a lot of such occasions of departure and we don't know when we will meet again . So, when we are together we have to enjoy the time together and treasure every moments.

Before the end of the ceremony , the principle gave a few words of advise and my wife wrote it down and gave it to my daughter and I will share it here:

Steam boat dinner at restoran Tapinluo, Penang Time square,.

Last Sunday night, I went with my wife for a  steam boat dinner at Tapinlo restuarant .  The name of the restuarant is  steam boat dinner in cantonese.if we translate it directly.  The owner , a recent friend called lena told us that it was actually a  " teochew " style fish steam boat.

The recipe for the steam boat is  a few variety of vegetables, sausage , pork , fried fish head and yam. There was a lot of yam in the soup and we were told that yam is a common ingredient in the soup.

The restaurant was located next to James Foo , western restaurant and a few walk away from Barista Cafe.

This is the fifth time I have been to the mall and it was quite deserted on a Sunday night. There was a lot of story about the fung shui at the area.  It was once  a tin smelting mill  and it was well know as the Eastern Smelting Company along Dato Kramat.  The mall was huge and it incorporates private residents on the upper floor of the mall. One part of the mall have been delayed for opening because of the lack of traffic and business flow to avoid the monthly maintenance charges.  Although, all units have been sold out, the mall have been considered a failure to many local people.

One of the reason is that the land have been burned very deeply and heavily during the operation of the smelting mill.  The earth have been burned to the core and it has killed all its vegetation and insects along with it. So much so, there is no fertility and hence, there is no fortune.

For a fruitful land, it should have water, vegetation and abundance of insects to show that it has good fortune and make the business grow.  But , nothing was done to restore its natural habitite even thought the mall is right in the middle of the town and it has an unaviodable frontage.

For a deep burned land, it will need many years for it to recover its wound and bring life again to the land.  So, a steam boat restaurant will only add to more burning and hurting to the land. So, I wish my friend , lena good luck.

My anger on the road ...

I have been scolding and swearing when I drive on the roads in Georgetown.  The island is getting congested and it is really a pain in the ass to drive on the island specially having to bear the abuses of the outstation cars from KL. They are a different breed of animals I think.

This morning, a car bearing a KL number plate just jammed into my lane while I was travelling along Green Lane.  This followed another car moving into his lane and in front of him and another car jam in the following moments. There were three cars moving into my lane within seconds and it was really a mess and in the wild west.  I have been wondering why the cars moving into the tunnel located at the end of Green lane joining Udini road was so slow when there is no traffic lights along the way. Now,  I realized it is because of the cars jamming into the lane going into the tunnel that slows down the traffic and causing a stop-start condition.  I also believe that there is a lot of traffic accidents along this stretch of the road and with these sudden brakes.

I believe our CM, LGE have done a lot for Peanang especially on the traffic flow and widening of the roads. There is little that he can do in certain stretch of the roads in Penang as both sides are listed with houses , cementry and private lands.  Some of the roads have to take sharp turns around a bungalow house or state houses and it often post  a danger to the driver.

I told myself to control my temper but at times, it runs out of control and I will be yelling in the car. All the four letter words will come out  ie shit , F$%#k ,etc and it looks silly on me as the driver cannot hear me and only my wife is inside the car.  She always asked me " is ther shit in the car? or who is F%$King around ?  It really make me look stupid and lunatic.

Hold, hold , hold. I must control my temper , otherwise, I will like a nut running loose.

Go downtown - Georgetown

 Down town - Georgetown

I sent my wife for her treatment of pain in her hand and leg and I wonder off to walk along the street called Phuah Him Leomg and joining to Burmah Road and I stumble into a pub called Cohole .'it was a small pub and there was only a bar and some karouke TVs hanging above my head.

There was a few tables of customers and they were yelling aloud and out of tune. It does not matter how bad is the music and singing they were a lot of laughter and the people were happy.

I have been to a few of such small pubs and everybody know everyone like in Cheers. My heart was feeling a bit strange , sitting at the bar waiting for my wife because I could not bear to see her suffer the pain of the electric treatment.

While walking on the street , I felt the calm as the warm  Breeze sweep through the street. It has been a long time that I have not walk along the back lanes and alleys. When I was young I used to run along small lames and alleys. It was down memory lanes for me.

It is about time to fetch my wife and I will have to be moving from the pub.
It was really an experience to come   this way again.

Do we have a choice ?

There are something that we can decide and there is something that we have to take on despite our reluctance or against our choice. In life, we will only want to do the things we like or choose to do. If that is the case, there will be no sweepers or cleaners for our roads and public facilities. Nobody would want to do the dirty and smell things or something that imposed hardship on us.

Yesterday , I had a meeting among my staff to take over the job of one staff who shall be going on a long maternity leave. After the meeting , I asked for the feedback and one of the staff responsed " there is no choice ". I think she felt instantly the feeling to reject any jobs that is assigned to her.  Some people preferred to idle around than to do any positive jobs.

It is the human mentality of some "negative people" to reject work.  They just want to do enough and anything more will disturb their routine and make them worked more.  Yet, these same people like to be appreciated by the bosses and wants upgrading or promotion when their time comes. What is in their head, I don't know.

For me, I have accepted assignment without any hesitation and I will leave the appriasal to my boss. I  believe he will be able to appraise my support to him and he will give me whatever is fair. My assignments are more difficult and serious as these task above and if I give them my assignments, they will cry all night long  and will be stressed out and  die fast.

Haiya, there many types of people in this world and some are very calculative .  You give me a buck and I will do a buck's job and nothing more. There are the merchants of venice where the tale of the two cities were based on.

Whatever, life have to go on.

I am fearful

During my yoga session yesterday, we were requested to do a headstand pose.  In the past , I have done it so many times but recently, I panic and become very scare.  I was thinking of falling awkwardly and hurt myself.  At this age, any injury will be difficult to get it cured.

I was only thinking of falling and when I am ready to do the pose, I froze and tell my wife that I cannot do it even she is there to support me. I don't know how the fear have creep in and take hold of my life.  I have seen some of my yogi's falling down when doing the headstand and there are some of them who can do the pose well.

The picture of my fellow yogi's painful picture after they fell was so strong in my head and it just prevent me from trying. How could I overcome the fear? Being fearful manifest itself many times and make me feel very unsecured.

My yoga instructor always told me that we have to face our fear and try to overcome it and if we succeed than it will go away. I am seeking a breakthrough to break my fear and everytime , I pushed myself to the edge of my fear and I just back away. Only a thin line between overcoming my fear or become fearful. I should have the courage to move it over the line but I just pull back.

Well, I tell myself that I shall be trying until the time , I could move over the line. This is my focus and I will continue this attempt. Maybe, one day the courage will come and I will win over the fear.

I am positive that the day will come.

The tale of patience.

I came across a great story and I want to share with all of  you:

Chinese Bamboo Tree

A farmer planted some Chinese bamboo seeds. For one whole year, he
watered them and fertilized them.

Nothing happened.

The farmer’s wife said, “Why don’t you plant something else and stop
wasting your time with this nonsense?”

The farmer just smiled at her and said, “Just wait.”

The next year, the farmer faithfully watered and fertilized the seeds.

Nothing happened.

His wife became very exasperated with him and insisted he plant onions or
some crop that would bring them some quick cash.

The farmer just smiled and said, “Just wait.”

The third year came and went with the farmer patiently watering and
fertilizing the bamboo seeds. By this time, his wife was quite upset and in
her frustration, went and planted her own garden.

The fourth year came and went. By this time, the wife thought her husband
was completely crazy. After all, HER garden had earned them a meagre
living!

The fifth year came. Still, the farmer steadfastly refused to plant
anything else. He patiently watered and fertilized his bamboo seeds.

Suddenly, during the fifth year, the bamboo sprouted. The Chinese bamboo
tree seed lies dormant for five years before sprouting.

It grew ninety feet in just six weeks, and quickly overtook the whole
garden!

The farmer harvested the bamboo and made a huge profit.
========

It can be very discouraging when it appears we’re doing everything right
and nothing is happening. But if you keep on going, things WILL happen
and you’ll start seeing the rewards of your efforts.

If you want great results 5 years from now, plant those seeds now. Water
them with positive thoughts and fertilize them with loving feelings.

Every day, and I do mean every day, think about what you want your life to
look like in 5 years. Even if you can’t quite fill in the details yet, if you just
spend 5 or 10 minutes daydreaming about your life, your mind will
create a mental image that becomes richer and more detailed every time.
This will bring some incredible solutions to your awareness and if you act
on that information, you’ll make great progress.

Even if it seems like progress is nonexistent, keep going. Keep your
mind’s eye focused on the goal. Patience and persistence will yield great
rewards!

What is money ?

The wiseman said that " money is the cause of all evils". Some people say money can buy very thing but some people say money cannot buy me love and happiness. Anyhow, the rich is worried about too much money and the poor is worried about too little money. So, whether you have money or no money or less money, you will be worried all the time. But, the main cause is greed.

If we know how to be contented, we can defeat the evil of money which is equal to worries and stress. But , the art of knowing how to be contented is not easy. It needs a lot of wisedom , determination and discipline. These factors are not so easily acquired and usually we fell deep into the black hole of GREED.

From young, we have been influenced by the wrong concept of money, we work so hard for our money, stressed ourself out and hurt ourself , all because of money.  If we stop to think about it , it is only a piece of paper and what we need to do is to have just enough to live our life instead of focusing to get more than what we need. Anything that is surplus is a waste.

Money is also a measure of success and getting what you want materialistically.  So, people are blinded to this craving and desire.  The desire to be recognize and the desire to be powerful.  Money can buy power and manipulate the events around us.  Of course , not everything but most of everything. This is a real fact and we can not shy away from this true fact.

The whole establishment have failed us and educate us in the wrong way and this now becomes the only way.

Money, money, money..... the evil of them all.

The death of a great yoga guru : BKS Iyengar

The founder of Lyengar yoga has died at 96. Author of many yoga books and holistic living.  He died of renal failure after falling sick some time ago.

In our mind, he should live forever as he is practicing yoga  and dying at 96 is a little bit young , or at least  it should be more than 100.  This understanding came to my mind when I read of his dealth.  Just like Bruce Lee, who died at age 36 and at the prime of his life.  It is unbelievable. How can they die when they are practicing Kungful or a holistic living.  Our mindset is that superman never die.

In real life and in yoga, we believe that each of us have 3 million breath in our whole life time. If we jog and speed up our breathing, we will die sooner as the 3 million breath will be used up sooner. So, in yoga , we believe in slowing down the breathing and taking longer breath. In this way, we can live longer.

I don't know whether this is true or not but there might be a logic to it. As we put our body through harsh exercise , our body parts are worn out and it will affect the bolistic balance in our life.  A lot of my friends who have been doing marathon or hiking, told me that they hurt their kness or their spine due to the strainuous process.  As for yoga, it is the stretching and bending of our joints , body and relieved the stress in our mind. It supposed to have a soft and slow motion action to keep our body's flexibility and agility.

Finally, of course, the basic cycle of life will take its path ie birth , age, illness and death. Whatever we do, we cannot defeat the age and illness.  We can prolong aging or maintain our health but it is still the body that calls the shot. When the joints will be hurt  or damaged, it depends on our body and how we carry out our exercise.

What happen to my wife, it was a real happening to me.  She was only slightly above 50 and she was still energetic and good at yoga.  She can do a lot of difficult pose and suddenly, she felt a pain in her hand , a few inches above her wrist and the ligament behind her left heel.  She do not know the reason and perhaps , it is the body who told her that she has overdone her exercise.  She is walking with a limp and her left hand have a pain when she twist her arms. It is nothing serious but she needs treatment for her wounded nerves.

Last night when reaching home, she could not lift herself up the steps infront of my house and I have to push her up.  It was so funny as she has been a fine health and a good weight.

Just like Iyengar, the body have its final say and we can only do whatever possible to keep it at its fine stage. We cannot fight nature.

Jakarta - Indonesia : An amazing insight.

When I was told to visit Jakarta by my boss, I was sceptical about the visit as I have a notion that Jakarta is dusty , dirty and jam packed.  This mind-set have been enforced by what other people told me about Jakarta.  One of my friend told me before the visit is that I can find people selling vigra everywhere and stuffed chicket toys if you want to use it.  His comments co-incide with my understanding of Jakarta.

I was taken a back when I was there.  There is so many international hotels  and I stayed at selayang Mulia , a 5 star hotel and it was a very big hotel and the security was tight.  Many foreigners were staying there.  On arrival , it was already in the evening and my host was not free to entertain us there.  So, I went with my collegaue to a Japanese buffet in the hotel.  I was shock to see so much vairety of Japanese food and sushimi was free flow , teppanyaki, grill sea food and a very good spread of local dessert.  Ow, it was heaven for Japanese food lovers.

I had Japanese lunch and dinner for three days and the beef ( wakil  beef) was so good and it just melt in my mouth.  It was a food paradise and I feel the food is so much better in Jakarta then in KL and Penang except the local food. My biased mind-set have gradually change and I feel good about Indonesia.

Lately, I read an article that Indonesia rejected " the islamic state" and this means that eveybody is equal and stands on meritocracy.  After Jokowi become President, the country is going to improve leaps and bounce. Jokowi was  a former governor of Central Java and Jakarta and he was a positive to the financial market and business community.  I also learned that an ethnic chinese is now the governor of Central java and in a matter of time, there is a possibility of a chinese helming the postion of the President in Indoneisa.  Things are changing very fast in Indonesia and if they are able to dismantle the system and mindset of the Suharto regime then  the country will have a bright future.

My mind turn back to my home country, Malaysia and it has a population of only 27 million people while Indonesia have a 300 million population. Why my country which is more manageable and full of natural resources is performing so much worst off than Indonesia ? This is a mind bogging question and it is a sad affair.

I hope things will change  in my home country and it is based on meritorcracy which is an important factor for the country to grow.

Love yourself

Love yourself

Yes. It is very easy to get hurt by a word or by an action or by a gossip . Human relationships are very fragile.

When we are hurt , we either fought back or retreat into ourself feeling hurt. When we fought back, there a chance that the misunderstanding or hurt can go away or clear up. But , if we keep to ourself , it will submerged into our mind. Even if we fight back, we have to do it in the right timing.  Take a Breather and wait patiently before cleaning up the mess. In this way. It will be more effective.

I always profess to say nothing or to do anything when there is a quarrel or an outburst. Anything said or done will be all wrong and can only make things worse. I have experienced these situations many times.

In a dispute, the mind is uncontrollable and the re-actions are also uncontrollable. It is like throwing  hot charcoal and burning all the parties in the dispute. It is better to get away from the core or the situation and fight another day.

Everyday is a new beginning and the past is dead and gone.

Be easy on yourself - extract

I came across this great wisdom and I just want to share:

Be easy on yourself:

Don’t be hard on yourself. There is always someone out there that will pick you up when you have fallen and don’t expect to be picked up in return. You are worth a lot and you deserve someone who will worship you and see the potential. You have the kind of a human being you are and that person that will motivate you in you dream to be a mother, someone has that same dream and will share it with you, and you will start a family soon enough, you will make a great mother and a good wife to someone out there, some one who you don’t need to beg to be a partner to start a family with, don’t give up, and whatever you do, never settle because when you settle, you are cheating yourself out of something great. ~ Adolfo Eisworth

The death of a great actor - Robin Williams

OMG ! He was one of my favorite actor and he died at 63. He looks so youthful  and with so much innocence. He is an alien coming from another planet and his acting is exceptional and wonderful. I always like his mimic and acting skill.  He can be very funny and so close to our heart. What happen?

There was a report that his death is because of severe depression and struggle with alcohol in his life. How can it be ? He makes the world laugh and cry with him and his comedian skill was excellent. How can a person with such personality suffers from depression. Now, I understand anything can happen.  A good and health man can also die young if his body and mind is out of control and running helter skelter.

I was talking to my friends about the re-action in our body.  Even we have been doing an exercise for many thousand times but one day, the muscle just snaped.  The joints or the ligament just give way for no apparent reason. How can that happen ? the joints or the muscle can only get stronger if we keep exercisng it but the body does not function this way. It has to age even if you are exercising it and this is the law of nature. Things cannot remained static and what needs to worn away will worn away and there is no two way about it.

At 63, Robin Williams stil have many good years in him but the stress and depression caused him to change and unsettle his mind. I could remember the funny side of him, mimicing all the funny noice and the false tone when he talks in his film.

To an old time stranger who have accompany me during my growing up years and keep me laughing or cry in the various films which he has acted.  It is strange to lost someone familiar , some one who growth up together with you. That is life,, uncertain, strange and unpredictable.

My recent birthday - an insight

People tell me that age is just a number  and also people joked with me that my hirthday coincide with the National Day of Singapore and millions of people celebrate with me. Apart all this illusions, yes, there were many whatsapps and SMS to greet me on my birthday. A few on the FB as well.

Out of all these is my daughter, M's birthday. She sang me a song sang by her through whatspp. I was taken aback by the wordings and I almost felt tears flowing from my eyes. In the song, she apologize for not spending time with her parents, wondering out most of the time, no time to say I am sorry and say all the wrong words at times.  It is very hard to say we are sorry but she sang it with emotions and sincerity.  I was touched , very touched.  I know she is not a bad girl after all and at least , she knows what is wrong with her attitude.  Being aware is good enough.

In the message to me in her FB, she said that I am a partime driver, a partime ATM . a partime friend but a fully time father. Yes, I am very worried about her and what she is doing all the times.  I felt that she is too close her friends and some of them will make use of her. This is my main concern.

On my brither last saturday, my wife arrange a family dinner with her sisters and brothers at our private club and after that we had a drink at the pub.  There was a lot of fun and eating.  The night ended very late and I reach home only about 11.30pm. During my younger days, it was only the start fo the night but at this age, it is the starting for my sleep. It is already late for my sleep.

Driving back, I was thinking about the years that have passed by and how fast have it been moving.  How many more 10 years is remaining ?  Everything looks so bleak and colorless as we look into the past years. The longer back we tried to visualize in the past,  the more colors it has faded. Every is blur and colorless.

All of us were laughing during the dinner  but internally, there is always a vuccum and always crying out for God. The God which is always forgiving despite all the sins which is done in the past and the only way to GOD is through Christ. Yes, there was this topic being discussed during the dinner and it creates a lot of fun talking about it.

Life is a journey and we shall enjoy it fully.

Coffee joints & cafe - my love

Lately, I have been addicted to coffee.  It keeps me awake and moving.  If without coffee, I will be lifeless. What do they have in coffee that me feel loved and comfortable. At the afternoon meeting, my colleage told me a joke :

A lady was sitting on the swing with her husband drinking coffee. Suddenly, the lady said that " you have been lovely and thank you for all these good years". Her husband was delighted and asked her why she suddenly say these wonderful  words to him. The lady looked at him and told him that the words are not for him but for her coffee which have given her so much wonderful years. LOL.

I am now confused whether my wife have been taking care of me better than the coffee that I have been drinking.  The relation , the sweetness, the aroma and the wonderful taste. It keeps me awake to carry my life through thck and thin. Always available when I need it. No nagging, no complaints and heartbreaks.  Keep me warm during the raining days and let me keep my cool during the hot days but most important is to let me keep my senses.

No wonder these cafes are mushrooming in Penang and I was told that there are hundred over cafes of this nature to cater for the different preference of the crowds and provide comfort the public to gather and drink coffee.  Their nature is like the london pubs to the  British people and this cafes will soon become a local culture.

The doctors said that drinking 2 to 3 cups a day, it is good for health but if we drink more , then it becomes counter positive and could hurt us. This point I am not so sure but definitely 2 to 3 cups is okay for me especially when I need it.

My wife told me that she needs a cup a day , otherwise, she has headaches. So , this point , I am not so sure because this seems like an addiction.

Come what may, coffee have become a must for me especially in the morning or a late night sleep.  It has been very useful for me to fight the blues especially the monday blues.

Wolf in a sheep skin

The phrase " wolf in a sheep skin" reminded us of the story of " Red Riding Hood" .  This is a child story about  a wolf tried to dress up as a sheep in order to eat a young lady.  This story was one of my favorite child time story and nowadays, it has become so popular.  There are so many instances that people tried to dress up for a kill.

There was so many report of casanova who sweet talked ladies to part with their  money and there are so many scams which are dressed in excellent packaging to hookwind honest people's money. There are also politican parties who say some thing and do another thing by pretence. So many instances and packaging to fool the public.

In a small term, it is about people around us who are in false pretence and get our confidence and then backstab us and put us in bad lights.  So, many lesser children of GOD who acted out of ill will.

My daughter , M told me how his manager failed to teach and guide her in her work and she only took 3 days MC and the manager was not happy with her.  The manager must out of sync with this current generation.  The children of this generation needs strong logical explanations and soft skill to handle their needs. No such thing as " cane and carrots" to control them. They rebel against illogical explanations  and they are very knowledgeable because they are in access to the internet. They can counter check your answers or advise and they can tell you back what is a logical decision. If they don't like the supervision, they can just walk out without a job.  They are more daring and challenging. So , the older generation must change to fit in their presence with them.

Sometimes, we don't understand how other people can be hookwind by these sheepy wolves but it is amazing how these foxy wolves can influence our mind or control our thoughts by their pretentious acts and plan. Some people said that they use black magic  but I don't think so.  They have wonderful mannerism, strong convincing power and quick hand tricks to lure us into their net.

How do we identify the wolf in the sheep skin ?  Yes, we only have to look for the tail.  When the foxy wolves enjoy a success, they will reveal their tails.  So , watch out for thier tails so that we become cautious and awareness.

Let them be stupid ....

In our life , we come across many stupid people.  It is either their action or their speech is illogical or senseless. Some people put forward this stupid face or action to escape prosecution but some of them are real stupid. For those wolf in the sheep skin to gain mileage in their job, I wish them good luck and hope they know what they are doing.

For those real stupid fools, it is uselss to change them or educate them by normal people. They live in their world of their own and they need professional help to stay alive or keep out from doing more stupid things which harm themselves or other people.

These walking zombies are for real and they look real and commanding. They will attack you senselessly upon provocation and that is the reason, they have to be leave alone by the normal people. Once you know that they are crazy or stupid, we have every reason to excuse them for their stupid speeches or actions.

Often these stupid people becomes politicians and talk whatever they feel like talking and at the meantime , reflect so badly on themselves.  They only stick to their agenda whether it is logical or not , it does not matter.  So, let it be stupid and carry on their stupid ways.

One example is the MCA's decision to comment on the foreign cooks managing the hawker stalls as chef.  I think LGE is correct that Penang is famous for its food and we cannot let those foreigners come and spoil our brand.  What would it becomes ? Yes, there is freedom of rights and democarcy but if it is harmful to us , then we have to organize it well and manage the problem.

I have to relate a case when I was in Bangladesh.  My boss and I was staying in Radisson Hotel and there was a Malaysian food promotion.  Our High Commissioner was sitting in the lobby and when he saw us , he invited us to attend the food fair in the hotel.  Ow, we were delighted and as we walk into the restaurant, there was so many Malaysian food spread all over the counters and the fried indian noodles look so good and they were cooked by our Malaysian Chef. So, we rush for it and after one spoon , we split out the food.  The spices were different and the taste was totally foreign to us. It maybe good for Bangladeshis but not for us.

SO just imagine , this is happening in Penang , what will the tourist think ? Is it Penang, Malaysia or Bangladesh. For those wronged minded person and not staying in Penang, just stay out and eat yourself.  Talking is easy and making person look bad is easy, but don;t act stupid.

I am singing the blues ...

I felt lathargic and sluggish on a Monday morning and it could be because of too much restful breaks in the past one week.  A long public holiday and last weekend.  Actually, come to think about it, I have done a lot of things over the weekend.

I have been doing yoga on saturday and bought lunch for my wife in afternoon, cleaning dog shit every now and then, making juice for my wife and myself, bought dinner , enjoy the TV program and on Sunday, sent  my wife for prayer for his beloved father and mother, have coffee with her sister ,G and eat lunch at my sister's home, clean the car and also the dog shits again and went out dinner with my wife. I also practice Tai Chi for two sets before the night was out.

Acutally, there is quite a lot to do and I have a very good rest the night before despite all the dreams. I am mentally fresh but my body is arching and I felt so heavy to move from my chair.  It is a feeling of heavily cramped down.

Suddenly, I felt life is passing by so fast.  Week after week and months after months.  I became more aware of the passing time and how little we have achieve or done.  It is not for money or greed but  just wondering whether there is some meaningful things to do nor not.

I start to look at the more older man who cannot walk or see or talk logically.  Last evening , I was having a dinner and this old lady just stand and wait for me and my wife to finish our dinner and to take our places.  It was so akward to have some stranger looking over you when you are eating and this old lady cannot wait anymore and she took a seat beside me and wave to her husband to come over.  Her hasband was wearing a dark sunglass and I think he has just have a cataract operation.  He walk so slowly and took the seat beside my wife.  I could see my wife rushing to finish her food and getting out of the restaurant as soon as possible.

I told my wife that why are these people so rude and crude. At least, they should ask our permission to sit on the same table with us. We actually don't mind but don't watch over us like a hawk and then take over the seats like a terrorist.  SOBs...... a bit cheese off.

Maybe, this foul mood is coming from this unhappy encounter and it was brought over from last nite today.  I have been feeling angry in my dreams over an incident happen a long time ago. I told myself that if I have a chance , I would have taken a different action.  Now, I have to let it go, let it go....

Birds of the same feather flock together ....

I remembered reading a book about how an environment or culture can influence the thinking of a person. If we are born in a slum and grow up in a slum , we will have a slum metality. If we are born and bred in an upper class area, we will bave the same personality and culture of an upper class. The environment change change a person.

Lets say we take a person out from the slum and put them in a upper class environment, they will not be confortable in the beginning but if it is long enough, it will change the person's mentality.  In simple words, if we drop a black spot in a  can of white paint, the black spot will be change into white and vice versa.

If we look around , we will see that the black crows will flock together and eat at the dustbins or rubbish area. If you chase them, they will disperse but than will regroup after a while. All the birds and animals have the same way and so is human beings.

The culture in an organization is very important to the upbringing of a person who starts to work. If they start at a small organization, they will learn the culture of the a small organization including the behavior of the staff and peers.  After a while, they think that their culture is the best and will retain all their exposures in that environment and if he moved to a big organization , he will apply all that he learn in the big organization.  Many a times, it result in a misfit and the person will feel left out and becomes very uncomfortable and will force to leave organization.

It is very vital for us to give the proper guidance and support for that person to have a chance to change his or her " small company" attitude and provide all the training and exposure for them to see the how a big organization works and why they need to change to fit it and move on to have a bigger exposure.

In most cases, a person in the big organization will not be able to change a small company while a small company person will be unable to live in a big organization.  It is a fact and a reality.  It takes a lot to change and survive in different cultures and environment.  But , it is not impossible if there is huge efforts and investment to guide them to move in the different path.

Now is Friday again

After 5 days of resting as the Country celebrates Hari Raya and after working 2 days, it is again another weekend.  Too much resting and it makes my body weak.  I felt it when I attended my yoga class on Wednesday.

My wife was unable to do certain yoga pose as her arms was hurting and after examining by my Yoga teacher, she told her that it is due to a lay off from yoga for 6 days and this is the reason. Why our body is so fragile ? Must we always condition our body to the fittest point and not having any long or extended rest.  I felt the same as my wife and it is always a sluggish start after a restful rest .

We have to be moderate in order to avoid hurting ourself  and it is so difficult to balance our fitness. Too much exercise is counter positive for our health and we will be constantly in pain from our joints or muscles and too light exercise, will make us lethagic and sluggish . So a little bit of pain or hunger is better to keep our body in the optimum level.

It is very difficult to balance our body as our optimum fitness level is not the same from day to day.  Our mood , our resting and our life style constantly move our body's optimum level and it maybe okay one day but it is not for another day.  We have to live by the day and watch our body and mind reaction to each type of exercise. Sometimes, the weather also played a significant part in our fitness.

That is why I believe in Buddha's basic cycle of life ie birth, aged, sick and die.  Despite all our hard work and pain to maintain our fitness, it is only to delay aging and death. Finally, eveything will disintegrate and our fitness will be gone as we aged and finally, it will be over. Nevertheless, I believe it is better to live a healthy life with all the hard work and pain than rather live and die like a couch potato , resting and sleeping the time away.

This is a choice and it does not mean that we live lonver if we exercise regularly and it maybe the other way of resting and sleeping will make us live longer. Nobody knows.
