Dinner at Tao, E-gate

I had a dinner at Tao E-gate with my KL  , Y at Tao, a Japanese cuisine outlet. Their business modus operandi is a daily buffet menu which customers can order and eat as much as you can in two hours.  The first session is from 6pm to 8pm and the next is from 8pm to 10.00pm. The buffet dinner is about RM55 per person.

It started off with their specialty as recomended by their waitress ie sashimi, oyster, tempura , chawan mushi and many other assortments.  It was quite hdtasteful initially  but after eating a few orders,  tt was quite filling and at one point, I felt guilty of overeating. If we do not have discipline or good control over our eating, buffet is a bad choice. after the over eating, we will never go back to the place for a long while.  It is a kind of withdrawal symptom.  A cold Turkey treatment.

There were two waitress who serve our table and they are quite friendly and have good manners. Both of them look positive and have great passion with their job. Surprisingly, they can speak  quite good English. Their service attitude and outlook was very positive and bright.  In the service line, these attributes are very important and with such passion , it is an extreme important factor for business.

In food business, the taste, the setting  and the people are important factors.  Once, I was in the Hospital visiting relative  and I was very upset with the nurse manning the information center. Her behavior was bad and her spoken English was amazingly poor. My friend told me that a college in Perak was churning out nurses at great speed and nurses have becaqme over supply.  The market only needs 500 nurses but so far they have passed out 10,000 nurses and the Government would be changing the law to to request Dentist to employ these nurses.

I think that is the reason why the standard of services are coming turning worst.  However, the waitress at Tao was very good in their service and I really feel good after seeing such positive and excellent people at work.  So, everything is about attitude and passion and not just the paper qualification.

I hope my daugther M will be like these two young waitress who not only show their inner beauty but the passion to serve. Syabas to them,

Namaste.
