Our fatal attraction

youThe morning sun was very strong and the light was like needles piecing into eyes. It was painful anind hurting but my eyes keep looking towards the light. The strong light continue to burn my eyes. Why am I still focusing on the light if it is hurting me?  Why  is wrong with me ?

If we put our fingers to grap the flame of a candle and we get burn, our hands will automatically move away from the light the second time. The pain is strong enough to burn my hand and leave a mark in my mind. So, when I see the flame , I move away.

As for the sunlight, it is not strong  enough and it is still tolerable to us and that is the reason we continue tolerate the pain. This point illustrate that human being is a flexible creature and the tolerance level is strong.

The message is that when an incident caused a strong impact on us and hurt us deeply, it will leave behind a demon and if it is tolerable, the old habits die hard. We are clear that if the sound of a bell is disturbing us, we should re-direct our focus to something more pleasing and comfortable instead of focusing on the noisy bell. But, our mind is always curious and it is attracted by activities. If a bell is ringing, it will get louder and louder in our ears  until it is become untolerable and we will move away or find a way to stop the bell.

So, in every person or in any situation, there is a tolerance level  and that tolerance level  will caused hurt to our body and mind and untl the level is breached, then incident will leave a strong mark which will caused the body and mind to protect itself.

Just like attractions. If we see a beautiful girl on the street, we will stare at the girl and try to get to know her but when we notice something we don't like, we will move our focus away and our eyes will continue to search for something more charming or interesting. If our tolerance level became to high and wide, the attraction may become fatal and the focus has been permanently fixed on something and that attractions defeat the mind and remained prefixed.

If you focus on being happy, then you will be happy but if you focus on something sad, then you are sad. The mood will change with  your focus and the choice is entitly yours.

Namaste.
