Home- a beautiful song

I came to know this song when it was sang at the American Idol contest and I found that the song was full of soul and blues, The composer of this song was longing for home after he was away from his  family. He expressed his feeling of been very tired  in distant land and was longing to come home to be with his family and to be back to his roots,

For most young people, it is very difficult to understand this feeling of wanting to go home because they have not experienced enough of life and the urge of adventure and search for financial  wealth and materialism is very strong.  Well, this is very natural and all of us have have passed through this phase in our life. As we grow old, we will mellow especially after going through lots of disappontment and emptiness and realizing nothing is permanent and are just fleeding things.

In one of the book which I have read, the author said  that when you are just 10 years old, your mind have only 10 years of past data and when you are 30, your data file will be three times more and when at 60, you will have 60 years of data file stored in your brain,  Our re-action to an external trigger is responded by a similar event in our data file stored in our brain. What we see , heard , read and feel is in this storage system and our biological computer system will retrieve  the event spontaniously and chart out a re-action automatically.  If we don't like a person, whatever he say or do will make you angry as your system have labelled him as a negatve stimuli and we will just reject whatever good he may want to do or say.  Hence, it is very important to unlearn and delete those negative data from our system so that we become  more objective in our thoughts and action, To unlearn is very difficult becuase of the layers and layers of data accumulated over the years. Just like our action of eating fast, it is very difficult to slow down. However, we have to try so that we can enjoy each moment of bliss by reacting and feeling the right  way.

Buddha changed himself and gain enlightenment. No doubt , this is a very difficult achievement but nothing can stop us from a simplier task  that is to make ourselves happy.  We can if we want, like I sto many of my friends, nobody can make you happy or sad, it all depends on us. Many great teachers and thinkers have preach on this issue and they have enlighten us on this beautiful breath in us , slow it down and enjoy its sweetness. Open your heart and be positive. Find your purpose and don't go too far because it is there in your heart.

There are alot of external triggers but it is within your power and capability to choose the way to respond or not to respond to it.  Believe me, at the end of the day, you have to be you.

Peace in every step we take. Namaste.
