LIfe is uncertain, death is certain

I saw this obituary section in the newspaper today consoling the death of Roger Tan, a reputable ex-banker. He died at 63 and he was well praise as a caring man. In one of his obituary, he quoted }m life is uncertain, death is certain". This message to awaken those sleepy heads and those ostrich who put their head in the sand and leave their butts out. Whatever we do or however, we avoid, death will come knowing at your door one day. Even the Pope or king must die.

Recently, a high ranking Pope in Egypt died and 12 million christians in the country moun his death and King of Tonga died in Hong Kong. An a deputy OCPD of Police in Penang died while playing badminton. How great or how small you are, you must face death. It is an inevitable fact.

LIfe is uncertain because you don't know when death will come calling. Tomorrow is never guaranteed and every day things are changing. Everything is impermanent and temporary. Why are we so uptight about material wealth or personal angers or with love ones? Life is a passing moment and we have to pass on sooner or later. us

This afternoon I have a lunch with my two female accountant friend. One of them,Su told us that she is very scare about cremation and the burning of the body would be very painful. We console her that the body will feel nothing when a person is already dead. Ashes to ashes, dust to dust. I told her that I know two friends who wish their body ot be cremated and their ashes throw into the sea. They just vanished.

If we accept death, we will be able to let go and live in the moment. But, if we still feel that we can live forever and grap on to our belongings and material wealth, then sorry-lah, you will be disappointed.

In our busy life, we have to slow down and remind ourself that we are just humans and we should be aware of the realities of life and death.Without death, life have no meaning. It is only an eternal boredom and a blank space. There is nothing to scare about death and start to live your life and do whatever you want to do.

Namaste.
