Jeju island - South Korea

It was reknown as one of the seven wonders of the world with its natural surroundings and volcanic rocks. We were told that the Jeju island was a huge volcanic rock island and the earth could not hold water because the pores in the soil does not hold water. It absolves all the water you can throw on it. According tot he tour guide, Judy, all the local people here is short and plum and very much layback in their life style. There is no factory on this island and it is only restaurants, entertainment outlets and trading activities.

The island is surrounded by clean clear water and there are women divers plunging into the sea for cramps and sea cucumber. Most of the women divers are above 60 old. Judy told us that there was a 70 years old women diver and she is keep diving at this ripe old age. Some reporters interviewed her and asked her why she is still working as a diver and she told them that walking on the hard surface is very painful for her and when she in the water, she regained her youth agility and she can swim like a fish. Well, we hope to see some pretty girls doing this job one day and it will be much challenging sight.

On this island, there is a small hill and when we walk up there,we can see beautiful scenic sights and with the clear water surrounding the hill. The air is fresh and cold at this time of the year. Nothing spectacular but it was very relaxing and the feeling was just wonderful. On top of the hill, there is a bungalow which is called the white house where one romantic movie use the setting here. Since then, many young and old people go there just to see the place and take photographs for memory.

Like I say, there is nothing spectcular in Jeju island, just the nature and clear waters around the island make it a wonderful sight. We do not need big trees and big houses or decorations. It is the back to nature feeling that we make us feel at home. If we meditate on it, Yes! we are back home.

Namaste.
