To let go a puff of hot air - right ?

When I was in Bangladesh , a country of 160 million people, one wise man told me that the Government allowed  democratic protest in the country especially near election time.  As far as I know, there is street demostrations in every week and it is not a localized demostration but a national strike. I wonder and try to get the logic and I could not understand it.  The wise man told me that in a country of 160 million people if we prevent people from airing their view, this will give rise to a coup or a rebellion or even a civil war.

Just imaging, we closed the lid of a boiling pot tightly and refuse to let the steam to lead out , what will happen ? Or we put eggs in a oven and without plucking some holes in it , it will explore.  So , this is the logic and to find ways to let out the steam is the best thing we can do as long as it is peacefully.

Today, there were suggestion of national reconciliation between BN and Pakatan and it is a very good move but before that, we have to pull straight all the edges and make every folded path even.  Otherwise, how can they be prolong reconciliation. The mistrust is still there and any forged reconciliation will only be broken soon.

Is it a personal issue between Najib and Anwar ? I think this is a much bigger issue than the crash of personalities. DS Anwar is pressured by his supporters especially to provide good answers to why they have lost despite winning the popular votes. How can he accept the results so easily ? It maybe so for another person but for Anwar, he has come a long way to build a two party system and have came across so many problems in the electrol system which he is not be able to provide an answer to them.

Marina Mahatir is correct while he quote President Obama/s words :  to those who have not voted for me, I hear your voice and I am also your President. So, the BN Government should let the people voiced their greivences and their unhappy feelings and this is their voice.

It is not hearing their voices but also provide them the answers and if the system sucks, then reform it and make it more fair.  Not just freely but fairly as well.  It is time to be humble for the BN Government as they are given a new lease of life and they have to thank GOD for it.  And not to comment like " What do the Chinese want anymore?  or A Chinese tsunami and Greedy Malays.   All these are destructive and dirty words. To charge the speakers will make the people more angry , let it go and give them the opportunity to speak their mind and be humble and not to be provocative.

Good leaders will shut up and listen. To listen is good communication and to tell the truth with facts is the fundamental requirement of to be fair. To persuade and not to re-act is the best thing to do now.  An action is usually followed by a stronger reaction and then there is when trouble will start.

Remember we must not treat the people as stupid by doing stupid things or say stupid things and it will reflect on us that we are actually the stupid party.

Namste.
