My monkeying mind to-night.

I have to draw  deep into my Buddhist dharma to control my mind.  The monkeys are very active , jumping around, stirring up past thoughts and experiences and having a playful party , each monkey kicking up the dust, creating fear and confusion. The thoughts of the wondering soul of my FIL. His soul is wondering and his physical body is cremated. The monkeys are our sight, hearing , taste , smell and touch. The five senses generate the recipes of our thoughts.. Our thinking mind is the sum result of these senses.

My strategy to control my mind is to concentrate on my beautiful breath . Focus on the in and the out of the breath.. Breaking down the control of these senses on my thoughts. Instead of letting all the monkeys jumping  at the same time at random and paying attention to these senses and make them even more playful. We shift the focus to the breath and it will calm down our thoughts.  Whether we give attention to these monkeys or not , it is our choice and we shall decide instead of letting the monkeys dictate our thoughts and tempo.

Who do not have fear ?  Everybody is fearful but in different degrees and how we handle our fear. If we let our fear manifest, it becomes more powerful and if we understand and tame it , we will be  able to neutralize it. Again, the ability rest with us.  Do we want fear to run all over us or we tame it down and handle it nicely. There is a wisdom, if we are not scare of death, there is nothing to be fearful. Things do not look as bad as if seems and there are always different angles or prospective.  There is a blessing behind very curse or there is always two sides to a coin.  If we look at the positive side, we will be happy and bright. Flipping the coin is very easy. We can do it without much trouble.

So, calming down our mind is easy and within our ability.  Look at the bright side of things and focus on our beautiful breath.  Breathing in each wonderful breath and it will give us positive energy  and give us the ability to still our mind.

Namaste.
