Hisago restaurant lunch - another look at life

Today, I have a lunch with the same friend, W which I have discussed about life with him.  He is still undecided whether to retire this year or next year.  On one hand, if he retire earlier, he would have more time to start his personal project , that is, lecturing and teaching Silva Mind Control Technique. He told me that he has practice it for more than 30 years for five to ten minutes every day. He intends to study the Art of Living and possibly, take up another course, Fountain of Youth.  He is seriously looking and searching for the meaning of live.

During the lunch, he told me that it is futile for us to search for the extra million and neglect our health in the process. If you have millions, what is the meaning of another million ? If we pass our fortune to our children it will not be appreciated and they will sell away the properties and channel the funds into the pursuance of their interest. Easy money come , easy money goes. So, his philosophy is to enjoy his earning while he can and also to pursue his personal dreams to impart knowledge to the next generation.  His noble deeds remind me of a China millionaire, who donated all his fortune to charity and told the press that if his children want money, they will have to earn it themselves. In this way, his children will understand the value of money and the hardship in earning it.

Yes, the generation of the baby boomers have gone through hardship during  the Great Depression and after effect of the two world wars and they understand hunger and hard work. The Generation Y is the spoilted brats because of the fortunes handed down by the generation of the baby boomers. I have seen a young fresh graduate joining my organization driving a bigger car than some of my staff who have working many years with me during his or her first day at work.  The generation Y is very choosy with jobs and take sick leave very easily.  During our younger days, if we have a head ache  we will take one panadol and continue our work in our office. Now, a single cough will sent the young ones scrambling home to rest. What is happening ? The coming generation is getting frail and weak. This would spell trouble as life is getting tougher and more difficult as the world is getting flatter by the day. Competition is coming from China and India and the less developing countries. It is better for them to wake up in time before they slip into oblivion.

So, kids, listen to your elders and pay attention to their advise. Strengthen yourself and prepare yourself for a more difficult life.  If you believe life is difficult , it will be a good start for you.

Namaste.
