Happiness & saddness - or perfect gray.

When there is happiness ,there is also saddness. Just like black and white but the middle is gray. Gray is the middle path ie no happiness and no saddness. I heard Ajahn Brahm said that life is fill with happiness and saddness in alternate intervals. Each feeling is between two points and the interval varies. Some times happiness last longer , some shorter and vice versa with saddness. So, if you feel saddness, it is only within two points. The length of the two points depends on you. How do you train yourself to get out of this circle ? Alternating between Happiness and Saddness is very frustrating and annoying. If you experience a high level of happinesss, then you will experience a very high level of saddness. The range fluctuate with the height of each experience. If you keep your re-action of happiness in a very low range, then you will be able to restrict the level of saddness. The up and down range fluctuate in equal length. If you train yourself to be aware of the emotions and not to re-act to it, then you have reached the Gray line , ie the middle path which is neither white or black or happy or sad. In this level, you have each the perfect level and you will find eternal peace and calm. You can achieved this level, if you train your mind to be aware and not to re-act. Namaste.
