Now is Friday again

After 5 days of resting as the Country celebrates Hari Raya and after working 2 days, it is again another weekend.  Too much resting and it makes my body weak.  I felt it when I attended my yoga class on Wednesday.

My wife was unable to do certain yoga pose as her arms was hurting and after examining by my Yoga teacher, she told her that it is due to a lay off from yoga for 6 days and this is the reason. Why our body is so fragile ? Must we always condition our body to the fittest point and not having any long or extended rest.  I felt the same as my wife and it is always a sluggish start after a restful rest .

We have to be moderate in order to avoid hurting ourself  and it is so difficult to balance our fitness. Too much exercise is counter positive for our health and we will be constantly in pain from our joints or muscles and too light exercise, will make us lethagic and sluggish . So a little bit of pain or hunger is better to keep our body in the optimum level.

It is very difficult to balance our body as our optimum fitness level is not the same from day to day.  Our mood , our resting and our life style constantly move our body's optimum level and it maybe okay one day but it is not for another day.  We have to live by the day and watch our body and mind reaction to each type of exercise. Sometimes, the weather also played a significant part in our fitness.

That is why I believe in Buddha's basic cycle of life ie birth, aged, sick and die.  Despite all our hard work and pain to maintain our fitness, it is only to delay aging and death. Finally, eveything will disintegrate and our fitness will be gone as we aged and finally, it will be over. Nevertheless, I believe it is better to live a healthy life with all the hard work and pain than rather live and die like a couch potato , resting and sleeping the time away.

This is a choice and it does not mean that we live lonver if we exercise regularly and it maybe the other way of resting and sleeping will make us live longer. Nobody knows.

Namaste.
