My twilight years

There are several phases in our life from the day we are born and until our dying days.

Our childhood days , our schooling days, our courting days, our working life, our married life and finally, our twilight years. The curtains must fall one of the days and there is no such things as eternal life. If there is , it will be very boring.

Time flows like the river from its outlet into the big ocean and that is where it will lead.  Our dying days.

Yeah, it is very good to ride out into the sunset during the twilight years  and prepare ourselves spiritually to meet our Maker.   Yeah , that is the end of our life by then.

One of my colleague told me that she would want to buy a piece of land to make it into a bed and breakfast or B&B thing and live at her luxurious pace planting  flowers, trees and vegetables to pass her twilight years with no worries.   Just live the life as it comes and with minimum stress. Do yoga , meditation and some activities to pass the day.

For me, I would do the same , go away from the hustle and bustle city life and move into a hill top among the trees while facing the sea view and live the life as it comes. Just now worries and live a life freely and with no constrains.

I was told of a story about a high ranking officer who met a monk and was told that he have been a high ranking officer for his past three lives , very busy doing his duty and have the less of life for himself.  He finally realized that he was busy for nothing in all his lives.  Why is he so busy and finally, life pass before his own eyes.  It was very wise for him to see this point and he felt that he has been wasting his time.

Yeah, it takes a person to step back from his or her busy schedule , take a break before they can realize this point of nothingness from the start.  He or She could have seen it herself without the monk but often than not, it will be someone who will wake them up to see the nothingness in life.

We come from nothing , we hold nothing in our life and we are gone into nothing. This is the basic concept of "nothingness".  This maybe a very passive perception of thing but it is also real in life.  How many 10 years do we have ?  Some people do not have the time to realize it and ended wasting their time and find themselves in nothingness.

Namaste.
