Death is destinated while our fortunes in life is up to heaven.

Last Saturday , I saw this movie  and it was about the gangster days in Hong Kong.  The main character was two very famous Hong Kong actors . The gangsters were in control of all the brothel, drugs and gambling business with the support of the British and Hong Kong police.

There was so much fighting and killing among the gangsters to control the illegal trade territories and make as much money as possible.  The partnership with a top notch Police officer, Lau  and a drug kingpin, Yen was very successful in the illegal trade and they were making million during they heydays . More than the Hong Kong tycoon , Lee Kah Shin.

Finally, there was so much backstabbing and betrayals among the drug lords and this lead to the killing of the family of the drug kingpin by British corrupted officials and their Hong Kong drug partners.  The drug kingpin was told by the Police officer Lau that the set up of the ICAC dept is after him and have asked the drug kingpin Yen  to get out of Hong Kong.

But, the drug kingpin Yen told the police officer Lau , those words " Death is  pre-destinated and Fortune lies in the hands of heaven " and he choose to stay to take revenge for the killing of his family members. The phrase have a meaning that there is no such thing as a " sure " death even if the odds are greatly against you unless it is written in the stars that you will be killed and whatever fortune you make , it also comes from the stars.

This does not mean that you can sit and wait for your fortune or for death to fall on you.  It means that even if the odds are greatly against you, you could still win or escape death. The next phase is how much you earn or how much is your fortune only God knows. The numbers are written in the stars in heaven.

I don't know whether this is true or not but these sayings have a history of many thousand years and in many incidents , it was come true for a lot of people.  So, you just have to work your best while death and fortune will come at their own time.  You need not worry but to live the moments to the best of your ability.

Namaste.
