Holidaying in Lagoon Resort, Langkawi

Holidaying  in lagoon resort , Lang

After a hectic first day of traveling to Langkawi and a fine dining at Danna , I have a good rest last nght. Now I am awake and resting by the window looking at the sky and the breaking of the dawn. It has been a long time I have not got this opportunity.

For this trip, I have expected nothing . I wanna laze around and let time flies. Like the Chinese saying " no worries and no actions" just going nothing. Buddha"s saying " doing nothing is doing something. Don"t rush anything , when the time is ripe, it will happen".

These reflections and taking short and good breaks is good for everyone. Looking at the breaking of the dawn is also a good awareness. This is the beginning of a new day and all of us have a new start in life. What happen yesterday and the days before is gone and it is history now. We have a new chance to start afresh.. With this realization, we will remain positive and optimistic.

Suddenly, I remember the song by Cat Steven " morning have broken". The coming of the light is so beautiful and tranquil and birds are flying here and there to celebrate the breaking of the day.

The lyrics of the song:

orning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the World

Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where His feet pass

Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day

Morning has broken like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word

Every day is the first day ,a new beginning. Lets celebrate.

Sitting in Danna

Sitting in Danna

Just finished a dinner with my wife in the western restaurant in Danna Hotel and now sitting at bar listen g to the musc. There was a two member band playing oldies . Their first song was " Daniel" sang by Elton John.

This song brought back many memories during my young days. The song was one of my favorite songs and it was very popular during that era.

Siting here listening to the yesterday songs really bring back in time. It is a kind of strange feeling  that I have list so much of my time. It is hard to account for the time which have passed as I struggle to  lock In with reality and the present. Going back 30 years and at the same time to be in the present times. Strange feelings.

I remembered reading a statement from PAS spiritual Advisor that he is focusing in enjoying the Ramadan spirit amidst the trouble in Pakatan rakyat  and he saiid that he don't know whether there is another Ramadan for him as he is already in his eighties. I think he is very wise as nobody is certain about living  except death is more certain.

I really admire his wisdom and political maturity. He remained a simple man when he was the MB of Kelantan.
Yes, life is so unpredictable and we only have the present.
Sitting here and enjoy the music and songs , bring this point clearly to me.

Enjoy the moments .

11 habits of Happy people - an extract

11 Habits of Happy People

1. Unconditional love
The only way love can last a lifetime is if it’s unconditional. The truth is this: love is not determined by the one being loved, but rather by the one choosing to love. – Stephen Kendrick, The Love Dare
Loving and loving unconditionally have a few fundamental differences.  You can choose love, but to choose unconditional love means that you see past the imperfections.  You release judgment and accept others as they are and choosing to act in a loving manner always.  Choosing to love unconditionally means that you’re choosing to love in a BIG way.  Bigger than the social and emotional restrictions that hold our love in bondage.
Your unconditional love doesn’t have to be outwardly in all situations either; unconditional love can also be inward. Accepting yourself fully as you are and showing yourself this same unconditional love can provide protection, healing, and the confidence you need to take your next step toward victory.

2. Gratitude
“He is a wise man who does not grieve for the things which he has not, but rejoices for those which he has.” – Epictetus
We cannot express the importance of gratitude as a habit of happy people.  When you make a habit to think of, and express, everything you’re grateful for, you’ll see that these joyous experiences continue to expand in your life.  Just like the law of gravity, the law of attraction will expand what you focus on – and if you’re focusing on what you’re thankful for, you can certainly expect to be more thankful in the future.

3. Service to others
Doing nothing for others is the undoing of one’s self.  We must be purposely kind and generous, or we miss the best part of existence. The heart that goes out of itself, gets large and full of joy. This is the great secret of the inner life. We do ourselves the most good doing something for others. – Horace Mann
Taking time to be of service shows a great deal of character, especially when you aim to serve without expectation of return.  Giving your time without the need for gain returns something much greater – it gives you the satisfaction of adding value to the world.  Working to help improve a physical, mental, environmental, or spiritual state will not only help improve the world, but will also help build positive karma in your life.

4. Self Care
You must love yourself before you love another. By accepting yourself and fully being what you are, your simple presence can make others happy.  You yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love & affection. ~Buddha

If your own needs aren’t taken care of, how can you take care of the needs of others?  There’s nothing selfish about setting aside a certain time for yourself each day or week to make sure that your own mind, body, and soul are well and rested.  Here are just a few things we do ourselves to meet our self care needs.  Try a few and/or add your own self care habits in the comments below:
15 minute morning meditation- This is very grounding.  Try it each morning before you get out of bed, or each night before sleep.
Affirmations – Affirmations are key in our lives.  Select affirmations that resonate with you and repeat them in the mirror DAILY.
Reading a chapter of a book – Just 6 minutes of reading can reduce stress by 68%.
A warm soak in the tub – Try adding 2 cups of iodized sea salt with 2 cups of pure baking soda to a hot tub of water – you’ll LOVE it!
Exercise – Staying active not only helps you look and feel better, it also clears your mind of negative, doubting thoughts.
Eat raw, organic fruits and vegetables (you can put them in juices or smoothies, or eat them right out of the garden!)
Buy a new outfit – Hey, there’s nothing wrong with a little retail therapy every now and then!  Treat yourself, you deserve it!

5. Forgiveness
Forgiveness can bring you a renewed peaceful spirit. You’ll find yourself feeling more positive overall and less stressed. You may even experience health benefits like lower blood pressure.  When someone hurts or offends you, negative feelings of bitterness or revenge are created. Don’t let yourself pay the price over and over. Oftentimes the focus on the past and the hurt will keep you from enjoying the wonders of today and the potential of tomorrow.
Good news, although you cannot control their actions or their decisions, you CAN control yours.
6. Compassion
Compassion is a foundation for sharing our aliveness and building a more humane world. — Martin Lowenthal, Opening the Heart of Compassion
Having compassion brings out an important human element.  Showing recognition and respect for all situations can not only solve many of the world’s problems, but can also bring people comfort, knowing that they are cared for, loved, and recognized as equal.  Show compassion for others and where they are in life.
Although their situation may not be desirable to you, it’s where they are – and if they’re going to get closer to where they want to be, they need caring support from people just like you.

7. Humor
As the old adage states, “Laughter is the best medicine.” It’s true and happy people know it. They laugh often and even at themselves sometimes. Laughter can create a lightness out of a heavy or negative situation. One good belly laugh is all it takes too; humor is contagious. One funny, happy person in a group can create a roomful of happy people.
Humor doesn’t just make you happy, but healthy too. Studies show humor and laughter strengthen your immune system, boosts your energy, diminish pain, and protect you from the damaging effects of stress.
“Your sense of humor is one of the most powerful tools you can have to make certain that your daily mood and emotional state support good health.” – Paul E. McGhee, Ph.D
8. Responsibility
Taking responsibility for your thoughts, words, actions, and reactions can ultimately bring you more happiness in life. If your intention is to create a more positive world for yourself and those around you, it’s up to you to have the thoughts, moods, and actions that will create that positive world.
If however, you analyze your current situation and see a negative consequence being created as a result of your moods/actions/reactions, taking responsibility for that will make you adjust your sails to strive toward a better outcome.  Release the fear of judgment and create responsibly, the Divine never loses count of your true intention.

9. Persistence
If you can’t fly then run, if you can’t run then walk, if you can’t walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward. – Martin Luther King, Jr.
Focus on what you want and build yourself to be that person through positive affirmations, intention, and action.  When we pursue something of great value with an undying spirit, the Divine knows this and will deliver.  It may not come all at once, or through the avenue you expect, but persistence will grant the achievements that create happiness.
10. Focus on the Solution
Happy people focus on solutions.  Unhappy people focus on problems. – Chris Butler
Releasing focus on problems is relieving yourself of the negative focus. Great problem solvers, and many millionaires exist because they don’t see a need to focus on the problem as much as the solution for it.  Life is full of possibilities and solutions when you believe and focus on them.  Life is also full of problems when you focus on them.  Where will you put your focus?

11. Honesty
You may get away with dishonesty at times, but as mentioned earlier, the Divine ALWAYS keeps count. For every thought, word, or action you express, an equal energy will be returned to you.  If honesty is what you portray, you will gain respect, trust, and honesty in return.  With dishonesty, a barren and lonely environment that is devoid of happiness is sure to ensue in time.  You may not see the effect of dishonesty right away, but it will erode you from within.  The option to repair however, is always available. You can begin practicing honesty RIGHT NOW to build a better, happier tomorrow.

(BONUS) 12. Optimism, of course!
Positive thinking is key to happiness. Happy people have practiced turning negative thoughts or experiences into positive ones. Seeing the glass half full, living a life full of positive habits, and learning to turn on your own “happy switch” consistently will turn your life around in ways you’ve never imagined.

Overnight flight

The over night flight from  Dhaka to Singapore was a mess yesterday.  I had a dinner with my colleagues last night in Dhaka before departing on a night flight from Singapore. It was  simple buffet and the last time , I slept very well on the plan. But, this time was like hell.

I could not sleep at all on a 4 hours flight on SQ.  A lot of the passengers could catch one or two hours of sleep but my eyes was wide open.  I was not tired nor sleepy at hall..  I tried to watch a movie. When I enjoyed the movie and after that my eyes was still wide open.

I tried to meditate but the seat was so narrow and I have squzze myself into the economy seats and also hoping for a good night sleeep.  It failed miserably as I was still awake throughout the journey.

I was fearful because  it could affect my working mood the next day.  I could have taken a leave but I choose to come back to office to finish my work and also to attend my boss's lecture.

FEAR is something uncontrollable and it is a personal choice.  I have to take the choice at such unfair time and condition. It was a serious feeling which could upset up me the whole day and finally, calming myself down after worked.

The feeling of a daze feeling and tiredness slowly cripped in and it blurs the thoughts and the vision and disturbs our mental judgements.  The feeling will go away slowly and I will have to manage the feeling gradually fading away.

Namaste.

I am choking - from what ?

I just came back from Chittagong , Bangladesh and the city was choked with traffic and people on the roads.  A city of 10 million people and many economic zones.  During the working hours, there were a few thousand cars , vans and buses on the  main road.  It is a massive jam and we have to travel bumper against bumper. What a horrible life ?

The roads are full of pot holes from the raining season  and the car, we travelled in rocked like a boat in the rapids.  It swing hard from right to left and left to right.  It was so exhausting and choking.  Some many people on the road walking in all directions and the traffic lights are for show only.  It has no purposes.  The feeling I got from these places is so choking and suffocating.

So, I am back in Penang and I felt the same choking and suffocating feeling but it is not from the overflow of traffic and people but from the haze.  A beautiful clean sky but choked with haze. The morning sun is a hot red ball.  So much fury and anger.  At some places in Malaysia, the API or the air index have fell to a dangerous point. Where is the haze coming from ?

It is a sin where people have to live and breath under such conditions.  The source of the haze is from Indonesia . From its burning forrest. Why not Malaysia blame Indonesia but the real source is from Malaysian company cutting and burning forrest in Indonesia and running a commercial business selling teak woods.

Is there a conspiracy why Malaysia have not bring this matter to the International court but let her people suffering from breathing the dirts and haze ? Something must wrong somewhere and if we can have a joint resolution from the Parliament wanting justice for MH17 then why not a joint resolution on the haze from Malaysia. This is call selective prosecution which Malaysia is famous for .

It is a problem dealing with the Politicians and they have their own hidden interest . The 1% that rules the world.  There is a law of Karma and what we sow we reaped. What goes around comes around.

MH17 -body snatchers & murderers.

Body snatchers and murderers.

For heaven sake, handle the bodies respectfully and with humanity. The victims of MH17 have been forcefully killed by those bloody killers and yet the remains have so badly handled. At least. Let them and their family have a decent closure.

The news of different parties struggling over the bodies and places in plastic bags along roadsides and piled up on a train heading to no where is so disrespectful and cruel. There are no animals as they have families trying to handle this difficult time.

Efforts must be intensify to find the remaining 102 bodies before the body starts to rot and decay. Thinking about this possibility is really upsetting  and kick up a rage in everyone of us.

The conflicting parties need to forget about war and their political differences to resolve this madness as soon as possible. An immediate closure is the best options for all.

It is fair that the murderers will be hauled up for the wrongful act and proper sentence shall be given.  Any attempt to compromise the findings should be rejected and let the truth prevail. These actions must be done to ensure a good closure where everyone can move on with their lives.

Nobody is above the law and If the Russian President Putin is at fault with attempt to compromise the incident. He should be killed like Sadam Hussien . This is the law of Karma and this power should not be underestimated.

People who do bad things will attract bad vibes and will get punishments for their bad deeds. What goes around comes around. There are so many examples which are clear to the naked eyes and with living examples.

We should all pray for the peaceful resting for all the souls of the victim and also pray for their bodies to be found early and  be properly buried. We also pray for a compassionate closing to the living relatives to have a speedy closure. Lets pray.

The 1% who rules the world...

The 1% that rules the world...

it is very true that only one percent of the world populations that rules the world while the other 99% don't care a damn. Most of the 99% Is struggling to feed themselves  or their families ,  earning a living buy working hard, living in free spirit , enjoying their life ,pursuing their own purpose in life and serve the humanity and the people.

Now it is the 1% that is creating so much havoc to our world involving in war over territories, serving their own egos,  enriching themselves, struggling for power , stirring up unrest using religion and race and on the way, causing so much miseries, trouble , hurts and death to the people in the 99% category. Is this fair? Absolutely stupid formula.

The recent MH17 happening is the result of the outcome from this 1%  and it caused the lost of innocent lives and causing so much miseries for the families of the victims.
In the one of the report, it said the bodies were dropping from the sky in parts and in whole on the fields and houses in East Ukraine. The smell of death and the sights of body parts were horrifying and sickening. The entire happening shows the cruelty of man towards their own kind. What makes these idiots do this cruel act? They should be condemn to hell forever and be burn over many times for this sinful act. This should be the fury of the people in the 99% category which could wipe off the 1% easily.

For those who are hurt in the process, may the Creator have mercy and bless them with comfort and strength.
May those murdered in the process , rest in peace and haunt those 1% manipulators , cheats and scrums.

The wind, the rain and storm

What does it happen when there is wind, rain and storm ? The scenario is like the world is coming to an end. The wind will carry the rain  and  build up the storm. These three factors are complimentary to each other. It is definitely a plus + plus + plus or 1 + 1 + 1 and the result is more than three.

It is a usual phenomena and if you find a person who has the characteristic of wind , a person who have the qualities of rain and another person to stir it up to become a storm.

In the Chinese belief , the time, place and people have to be right before something positive can be achieve. By the convergence of these three factor, a difficult decision can be derived with ease and it will be an excellent decision for all those involved.

There is wise saying " don't rush anything, it will happen when the time is right".  In these few words, it carrys the three factors of the right time, right place and need the right people to make things happen.

In life, there are few such occasion having these three positive factors. Just the convergence fo the wind, rain and storm which can rock the world or bring lightning to the sky.

The motion of a 400 x 100 relay , we can see the combination of these factors and at its maximum , it will break teh world record. The place is the stadium , the runners are the people and the time is the record.  A smooth and excellent run is the making of all these factors.

Live in the moment.

I got a call from a friend , L from KL and she told me that she has found another boyfriend in Penang and they have make a long term plan in their life.  A long term plan?  What for ?  I told her that she should enjoy the present moment and forget the plan.

In life, is there a long term plan ? A lot of things and events will be evolving and we will be changing our plans every now and then, so does the plan really having any meaning?   For our work, we were told many times that it is never plan to fail but only fail to plan.  But, our life is so much fluid and does any plan mean any thing?

I believe that we should live the day with a blessing as tomorrow is never guaranteed.  We do not need to expect anything and then we will not be disappointed. If we look too far and expect too much, we will lose the present. The present is only what we have.

The past is gone and the future is uncertain. So, what is there to plan or to look back but just to live for the moment and live for the day.

Make the full use of the moment which you are having and live.  Don't waste time comtemplating or planning and saving excessively for the future and sacrifying the needs of the present.

Live , live and really live.  Do whatever you want to do , eat whatever you can affort and move around with whatever energy you have to carry your body around.  Just move if you want and rest if you have enough.

To some people, my thinking is very irrational as we have been told to save for raining days and to be thrifty and enjoy a comfortable life after retirement.  We are expected to live to a 100 years and so saving enough is very important.  Yes, this could be true but what if we cannot live to a 100 years  and our sacrfice for the present for the future would be meaningless. So, just keep enough but do pay attention to enjoy the present.

Our mind should change.  We should kept enough but not excessively.  Any excess we don't need is a waste.  But again, we have to provide for our children. Then, provide them enough in living skill and education and let them strive for themselves. Anything excess is also a waste or letting them waste and rot.

Think carefully for tomorrow might never come.

Yogi cafe / my dream

Yogi cafe - my inspiration

I have an aspiration to provide a place for yogi's to interact. Yes. There are many temples or meditation centers to interact or meet. But, what about socializing and relax. Yogis are also human and they need friends to interact. Suitable places.

Again, not all yogis are vegetarians and  would like to make it like a place of worship or a place like a gym. A normal relaxing place where they can behave like normal people,'chatting and sharing their wisdom and experience in life.

I would like to offer them coffee , cake , breads ,etc . An abundance of choice . But the most important is with special designed furnitures to meditate or practice their post while socializing and interacting . Small groups interaction would be encourage .

A place of calm, relaxation and serene atmosphere will be provided to enhance the practice of yoga.

My dream is in the making.

What is happening nowadays ?

The more I read in the news , the  more I am disappointed.  I think Dato Ambiga is right about forming Negara-ku.  This is an appropriate platform for the good Malaysians to gather and say their piece.  Why is ISMA or Perkasa only have their field days ? We also can say our pieces and to balance their racist statements.

It is said that Evil will prevail if the Good choose to do nothing.  The color of darkness have been prevailing and getting stronger so, it is high time that the lights regain their place.

I would like to say bravo to these group of good  Malaysians. Let them stand firm and prevail.

Another guy named bung-bung creating a lot of nonsense and placing a BRA-zil logo in his twitter and I think this is not appropriate for a sporting event.  Why is he so silly and only shit comes out from his mouth.  Something is wrong with his mind ? perhaps, he wants to look silly for publicity and talk dirty go gain political mileage. What a fool.  Furthermore, he hail Hitler when Germany  win the World Cup.  That fella Hitler have been dead and gone and yet, he link the greatness of Germany to him.  What a stupid move ? What is the connection????

I am upset for such remarks and I think there is a lacking of good man speaking up and remain firm about their convictions.

For the compassion, love for peace and eternal happiness, let the lights shine.

If we don't see, does it exist ?

I came across this puzzle and was captured by its imagination.  There are a lot of things we don't see but it exist and does this applies to all other phenomena.  It can go into a very scary dimension.

A lot of people is saying when you don't see, you don't believe but there are also a different wisdom ie what we see may not be true or according to our belief or visual.

Lets talk about what we don't see like " the wind".  We cannot see wind with our naked eye but we feel the wind, so it exist.  We cannot see  " cold " but we feel cold. So, we extend further and question ourself , we don't see GOD but does it exist.  Do we feel GOD ? Yes and No.  Some people can feel GOD and so they believe it but others are less fortunate and they don't feel the presence of GOD. So, they don't believe it . Of course, many followed the intuition of others who have felt the presence of GOD.  So, if there is GOD , then there is Satan or the Devil. If there is something Good , then there is something Bad, there is two sides to a coin. So, the belief goes.

Then, is it true when it comes to love.  We cannot see love, right ? Does it exist ? Yes, Love can be felt through our feelings. But, we are unsure how deep is our love.

I have came across a Dharma talk and there was this question from one of the guest . If someone proposed to us, how shall we decide . The learned Monk told her that she should flip a coin. It is strange way to decide ,right  ? But , the Monk told her , the flipping of the coin is not important but it force us to search our heart and make a decision. It is only a mean and not an end.

If it is head, we will have to face ourself , are we ready for marriage or is the love is deep enough or are there any other considerations ?  It will force us to face the decision of the coin. If it is tail, then we also have to decide when we are going to accept the decision of the coin.  Both sides, we have to make a decision . It is not by the coin but by ourself.

So, our belief is concluded by what we see and what we feel . But what about other senses  ? Yes, it has a different role to play.

Lets be open and sharpen our senses and do the right thing for ourself and others.

A tired man - going to KL and back

Yes, I was really tired on my trip to KL and when I saw something in the wash room, I took a picture of the wise words while peeing and this is very interesting and I want to share with all of you.

The first wisdom on the wall was :

" Life was better when Apple and Blackberry was only fruits"

The second wisdom on the wall :

" No steve jobs, no Johnny Cash, no Bob Hope
Now, there is no jobs, no cash and no hope
So take care of Kevin Beacon "

If there is no beacon, it will be terrible.

The writer must be someone witty and wise.

The art of meditation - Ajahn Brahm

Last night, I slept too early and woke up at 3 am and I was too fresh to sleep again but yet it is too early to get down from my bed.  I turn to my Iphone and google Ajahn Brahm's youtube.  Earlier in the day  at Gurney paragon, I saw two foreign buddish monk and they remined me of Ajahn Brahm.
That is the reason , I google in Ajahn's youtube.

The first video was on the art of meditation.  I want to share with you his teaching because I find it interesting and simple to understand.

He told us that imagine that we are carrying two bags of shopping items and they are very heavy. One the bag, we carry with our left hand and it was marked " Past" and the right hand's shopping was equally heavy and it was marked with " Future". We have been carrying these bags with us for a long time and we are getting very tired.  Next , imagine that we put these two bags on the floor , one at a time and we sit back and relax. Before we relax, we close our eyes and visualize the weight that we have let go and we feel light and free from these burdens. We are resting in the moment. The Present moment. We continued to focus on this freedom after letting off the weight.  Don't let any Past or Future items from the bag to disturb you.  Keep all these items in the two bags and enjoy the new found freedom.

In the present moment, you will realized and be aware of the relaxation and weightlessness. Let yourself enjoy the break and concentrate on this feeling. You will get to light it . Start with 10 minutes and gradually increase this exercise to 20 minutes , 30 minutes or an hour depending on your feelings.

You may feel your leg or buttock starts to hurt , make them comfortable and adjust your position but try to keep your back straight.  Many meditation practisioner want to sit in lotus position and keep their back straight but some meditation experts told us that we can meditate at any position or postures.  The most important is the mind. We don't have to spend all our efforts in getting into the form and let the form get into its position. Concentrate on our mind and focus on our new found freedom free of thoughts.

Enjoy your new found experience through meditation and you can advance yourself into deeper meditation if you get the feeling in this simple exervise.  Next , we will learn to follow your thoughts through your breath in and out of your body.

The hot rain

The hot rain

It was raining cats and dogs outside while I lay awake in the wee hours of the morning. The thunder and lightning were fighting to show off their power , each taking turns to unleash their act making the sky like the stage of a rock concert with the drums and the lights taking the center stage.

It was really very warm in the room despite the heavy rain outside and it was as if it is pouring hot water . A hot rain like someone have set  fire to it. I woke up to sound if the blasting music  with sweat all over. my body.

I thought of the air condition but u was worried that if u switch it on, it will bring on the lightning. But it has become intolerable and I cannot tolerate it anymore. I press the switch with a little fear in my head.

The situation in the room gets better and I felt more comfortable . I am trying to sleep a little more.

Wish me luck.

A visit to Moody Cow.

Lunch at Moody Cow, transfer road , Penang.

At lunch time today, I suggested to my wife to  eat lunch at Moody Cow since so many people have been talking about the place.

On reaching Moody Cow, we found that place is very small and there was no parking space. I drop my wife first  and drive around to find a parking place. I have to drive three wounds around the place before I decide to park behind the restaurant and have to take a short walk back to the restaurant.

The place is operated by two man and it was a cozy small place decorated in an ancient ambiance. The choice of food  is limited  as well as the smoothies and cakes. The furniture was simple and it was purposely set into an old lock to bring out the taste of the place and its concept.

We ordered two plates of different pasta  and the taste is above average . The food including a glass of green wheat and lime , it cost us about RM45.00 . It is considered average by Penang standard.

I was told by my friend that in the past two weeks. There are about 11 coffee cafe joints have sprang up on the island . This is really a shocking number and hopefully there are enough tourist coming to Penang.

Next Monday , Penang state is celebrating its heritage day. It will be an off day for Penang. This is really a good break for many work stress people.

Yoga Anniversary Dinner - last Tuesday.

It is amazing how strange people doing the same exercise can sit together to have dinner at Xuan Xi restaurant in QB.  Yes, we have been practising yoga together for some time now but we seldom have the chance to talk as we come late and go off on time before and after the yoga session. Our teacher finally initiated a dinner with a few of her students and we were told to go for the dinner.

At the dinner,  I initiated the question of how they come in contact with my teacher or yoga.  A few of the students told me that they got my teacher's contact from her blog and after that, they call up and choose to come for her yoga session.  Yes, I think we are fated to meet and enjoy yoga together.

Then , my next question to them is why they choose yoga ?  A few of them told me that they are basically lazy bumps or couch potatoes and decide to go for some exercise. For me , I have followed my teacher for six years and it start with a session in the gym where I have my first encounter with yoga.

Then, my next question is what they have learned from yoga ?  The common answer is that it was a good exercise . The practice is tough but the feeling is good after the exercise. For me, I have not improved much over the years but I could continue to feel fit and  maintain my flexiblity.  Yes, it is an anti-aging exercise . It provides strong breathing , flexible joints and strong legs and good sleep.

I started to wonder after the years of practice is that where we aged according to the past days or not. What if the day is long and they is no changing of days , do we aged ?  Most of it is in our mind and we feel aged if we think we aged over the days.  However, finally, we do aged and die.

I would like to vouch here is that any form of exercise if we do it consistently or persistently, it is good for health and it has an anti-aging effect.

Time & trust - waits for no one.

In our life, we met a  lot of people and we tend to grow to trust them over time but in the journey with them, we are sometimes hurt by those people we trust. It could be by our own doing or the doing of others. However, we felt hurt and betrayed.  We tend to shy away from these people and may some times to go to the extent of avoiding them.

No seeing is no hurting.  But, this shadow of hurt goes deep in our heart even if we choose to avoid these people. Once awhile, the image float up in our mind and our heart hurts. Sometimes, it hurts really bad.

To clear of this hurt, it is better we come to face to face with these people and let this hurt comes out and we find a way to cure or soften the hurt. When the hurts comes out, it is easier to manage the feeling rather then it is kept deep in the heart.  It will stay embedded and it will forever be there. We should even go further to seek clarification from those people who have hurt us and some times by clearing the doubts or getting a clear picture of what have happen could resolve the hurt.

It is easy to say but a lot of times, the pride or ego stands in our way.  We thought we  can live without this people who have hurt us and living happily ever after. But, it the hurt is gone , it will be better. Otherwise, our heart will be fill with a lot of knots and wounds.

Yeah, throw away the ego, pride or fear and stand up to face your hurt and seek a timely redress to make your life happier.

Namaste.

Breakfast at Secawan - Negore square , Penang

Last saturday, I went with my wife for an english breakfast at Secawan, Nagore square. It was a new food joint and it is managed by two young Indian gentlemen and it was located in a pre-house in Jalan Hutton.

The ground floor and the kitchen have been completed and business is on-going but the rooms at the upstairs was still in progress. They serve different types of coffee and latte including serving french toasts  and different type of breakfast choice. On the shelf , they also offered cakes and Tiramitsu , etc for your choice of dessert.

I ordered a latte and my wife ordered a black coffee with a french toast and an egg bread and the total bill comes to about RM72.  It is considered pricey according to Penang standard. However, the service and the ambiance was nice and cozy.

I would like to recommend to those interested in coffee to check out the joint and I was told that the joint is open for all the world cup games right to the morning.

Enjoy your cuppa.
