Now or never - my thoughts

In the vening , I saw an advertisement in the TV who showed an old photographer going around in the wild to take photographs and at the end of his advertisement , he urged all the people to enjoy the things they do as life is very short.

I relate this statement to the show I watched yesterday "The last tycoon".  the show is about the last mayor and tycoon in Shanghai.  0In one part of the story, the chief police officer of Shanghai was flirting around with a social lady and this leads to his wife of many years to divorce him and this last tycoon played by Chow Yuen Fatt when to see the chief police officer and asked him why he let his wife to divorce him over this social lady. The police chief told his friend, the tycoon " I know it was not right to let his wife divorce him but in his line of work, it is very risky and can be very short  as he was already old at 60 and he asked his friend to allow him to enjoy his life for his last few years.  He was right he became mad after the few months due to the Japanese invasion.

I have re-cap of many news and memories where the old people spend their fortunes in wine, women and song during their twilight years. After so many years of working hard for their money , they think they deserve the right to spend away their fortunes instead of leaving much for their children or better halves. This is a personal choice and if they are happy, why not ?  Life is a journey of no return.  After we die, everything is nothing.  We just vanished and leave everything behind. All the blood, sweat and tears and if you think hard, who are we judge them.  We have not walk through their life  or knowwhat they have experienced  and how can we be judges on their acts.  Right or wrong , does it matter if this is their choice?

This matter is very hard to understand if we have the view that we can live forever but the fact is that everyone have to die and if we look at this view with the awareness that nothing is forever , then we maybe awaken to this fact that it is now or never.

Namaste.
