Do all yoga teachers have a sadist behaviour?

From a layman, you may notice that all yoga teachers like to torture their own body and make it perfect. All the yogis under their guidance will need to work against the pain of each stance or pose. Just imagine, you bend your leg in a lotus position.  Lets say you have not been bending it this way for 50 years and when you start your yoga lesson, you start to bend it.  Of course, it will not have its flexibility anymore. So , you have to gradually bend it a little bit at a time and to re-gain the flexibility.

Lets put your focus in your action.  The bit by bit push means the pain will  intensify with a little improvements. If you push yourself too hard, the pain will throw you in a shock and you will be limping for some time. Some yoga teachers will push you and asked you to follow their pose. If you are dumb enough to follow their stance, you could injure yourself because their body is well trimmed and trained. So, you don't have to be em brassed and follow your own pace.

If you follow your own pace, your yoga teacher will say that you are lazy or out of sync with the rest of the people. So, what ? By doing yoga , you are supposed to enjoy yourself and relax. Not stressed up and end up injuring yourself. If you put your fingers to the candle and you get burn every time, do you want to put your fingers near the fire?  It will turn you off , right? If you continue to enjoy the burning , then you better see a doctor because you have a sadist character.

Do you remember David Carradine, the famous kungful actor ? He died in Bangkok , naked and hanging by his crouch in a cardboard. Such kind of sexual act is the result of trying to push the maximum pleasure from a sex act. Some people use a plastic bag and suffocate themselves by covering their head in the bag while performing a sex act with a partner. This way seems to drive more pleasure from the act , combining pain and the pleasure of sex. This is not a recommendable way and some of these people exert themselves too much and  die after exceeding the limit. There have been many reports on such happening and it is highly dangerous.

Hence, we have to pace our self and select a good Yoga teacher , who is patient with us and understand  our body conditions.  Yes, the yoga teacher will need to balance our laziness or our natural resistance to pain and the pain we encounter during the exercise. Of course, when I say we have to pace our self , sometimes we are relaxing too much and the teacher will come it to push it abit further. Otherwise, we get too relax and lazy and there will be no improvements.

If we start off the class, we will see remarkable improvements at the initial stage or glaring improvements but as we advance from elementary to intermediate level, the improvement will be less glaring and we will suffer more pain if the teacher push us too hard.  Yes, I believe all yoga teachers have a sadist behaviour, that is to enjoy inflicting pain into their students but if they do it right, it could be enjoyable as well.  Some people called it " a pleasurable pain ".

If you go for a yoga class, you should choose a good teacher, a little sadist but a balanced fella who knows to pace you and most of all, you should be humble and only do the pose that you can do. Don't practice the 4Ks like the Singaporeans .  Kiashu, kiashi, kiaboh and kiabor.  Hahax.

Namaste.
