I watched the movie tput in this afternoon with my family members. I have seen many version of the monkey king on movies , TV and CDs. It is amazing how it has evolved and the use of graphic technology in the movie , making it real and colourful. The basic story line is the same and how the three disciples of the monks fight with the demons out to eat the flesh of the monk which will add thousand of years to their power to be more stronger.
The story line is predictable but the graphic display is excellent and smooth. The white bone witch was acted by Gong li and the monkey king is by Aroon Kwok. Their acting was superb and this kept the interest of the audience in place.
But, the real essage is the Buddhist teaching of selfless and the unconditioned love exhibit by the Monk, His pure human eye deceived him many times by the demons but his commitment to love for human beings put him in a lot of dangers and only the monkey king help to save him In the end, the white bone witch was defeated by the monkey king and the monk sacrifice himself unconditionally to keep her soul and bring her soul in a journey to re-incarnation after he was killed by the monkey king at the request of the monkey king, The monk's was supposed to return to his body in 7th days after he died. This unconditioned and infinite love for someone cannot be seen on earth anymore as such purity is only confine to a God.
According to one of the character in the film , the world have been messed up by greed, self , materialistic world , craving and evil. There is too much evil and too few good men,
To change the world, we must change ourselves first as the world cannot be changed by critics. Change for the sake of change is meaningless as change must be for the better.
