Tonight is the 8th night of the CNY 2015 and it is to pray to the Jade Emperor who is the heavenly emperor. He is the greatest deity of all or the king of all deities.
It was believe that the Hokkien clan was save from the killers after they hide in the sugar cane estate and it was the Jade emperor who help them to safety. From that incident , the Hokkien people used the sugar cane to pray to the Jade Emperor.
It was the celebration of a new day and this day became the 1st day for the Hokkien CNY. It was thousand of years ago and the folklore keep evolving and it survive until today.
CNY is celebrated for 15 days and it end with a celebration through another prayer for a good new year.
Let's live well into the year if the goat with more health , wealth and new excitements.
