It is so strange that we have some CNY feelings eventhough it is almost 60 years of passing. The feeling is a kind of relax and carefree. It is strange as the days are almost like any other days in the year whether it is rooster, rat, pig or snake. I think the sense is like starting a new.
Why do we need a year to start a fresh ? Everyday is a new day and we can start a fresh. why we need to wait 365 days to start anew. It is so strange.
Like a lot of people have said , it is always in our mind. We are shaped in this way due to our past by the Establishment. Every year, we have been looking forward to a new year to start anew. So, we can see the power of our mind. Just like the rat responding to a ring of a bell for food. When the bell rings, it will find its way to the location of the food. If we change the route or the spot of the food, the rat will be lost.
Today is the 8th day of the Chinese lunar day and it is for the Hokkien people to pray to the heavenly God. This is the first day of the Hokkien clan for the CNY. It is so strange why we have to 1st day of New Year. This is the creation of man and this custom have been drum into my head when we were young. Why can't it be the first day ? If it can be the 1st day, then every day can be the 1st day , right ? This belief have been drum into our head again.
During a few days into CNY, my wife asked me to buy a pair of new shoes and I told her it is against our custom to buy shoes and booms. These two items is not auspicious. I don't know why but we were told that it will distroy our luck on the new year. Yeah, it is drummed into our head again.
So, what new year ? it is a make belief world. It is better than a white piece of paper and it creates a different feeling.
