The danger lurking in the shadows ....

I read an interview given by Mat Sabu in Malaysiakini and his frank opinion on evolvement of Islam in the country really raised my ghost pimples. The massive exposure of Islamic scholars to the middle east countries cultures and happenings make these scholars more exclusive than inclusive of other race and religion. The development of a distinction of the divisive thinking that if " you are not with me , you are against me" will change the political landscape in Malaysia. This evidence is seen in the recent PAS election where the progressive group was kick out almost completely as the young islamic turks who are exposure to the middle east culture return home to grap all the post in the PAS election. There was no middle ground and it was so divisive and hard on the Progressive group who was kicked out and now thinking of forming an inclusive and moderate new party to serve the needs of the people. The dangerous trend of these islamic scholars and also the increasing number of religious graduates from the public schools who have remained unemployed or choose to be unemployed is gathering force and will change the local culture and finally the political landscape if these problem is not handled well. This development is not only in PAS but this dangerous happening is also gathering strength in the Malay based parties and Mat Sabu have actually opened a cane of worms and this is an awaking time to all Malaysians to be more conscious and make the right decision on their votes. It is a wise move to kill it at the bud.
