A salute to Irene Fernandez, a civil activist.

I read about the demise of Irene Fernandez and I was shocked that such a civil activist had died from a heart attack.  Her name was welcome in Malaysia as she stands up against corruption and human rights. I could read her name in the press or reports talking about what she is doing for Malaysia.

I wonder who would want to be a civil activist ? Is it for name or frame or money ? No.  I think it is passion for the sake of the public.  So much moving around,  fighting for recognition or fighting for merits of a case and standing against the people in the corridor of power or against police.  Having to be pushed around sometimes and stressing a point to win a case.  So much mental and physical abuse from the job.  I would not want the job but there are people like Irene who have the passion to hold on and fight for the rights patiently.

Yes, we missed another people who stands up , be counted and speaks up strongly for justice, against corruptions and abuses of human rights.  I salute these people who can sacrifice for the human race and take the abuses at full force.

We need more of such people in order to prevent darkness from gaining strength over light and light the path for justice.

To Irene, we salute you and may you rest in peace.

Soon Lai Restaurant , Jalan Teh Ewe Lim, Jelutong

For Penangnite,  the term : Cheap & good and big portion  means value for money and at this restaurant, you can find this value for money feast.

It is a chinese seafood restaurant which house two section ie one air-con portion and another non air-con portion and the price is the same and it is a matter who is early to book the place.  It was full house at the week ends and not so full during the week days.

The kitchen section is located by the side of the house and most of the tables are located in the open air area facing a field.  The cars of the diners  will be parked fully along the side roads and the main roads and it is so disorganized in the set up.

On a hot day, it will be really hot to eat at the restaurant with the sweat running down our face and with the sweaty smell disturbing our enjoyment.  But , in return you can get good, cheap and abundant of food to fill your stomach.  If you are on a budget to treat your friends, this would be a good place to take them.

I highly recommend you to try and enjoy the good food at a reasonable rate. Go early to avoid disappointment.

Feeling of despair

Until now, I have a uneasy feeling of despair even after the announcement of MH370's disaster in the Indian ocean.  More reports are coming out showing more debris are spotted by  planes but yet no concrete identification as yet.  The feeling is like building up into a suspense and what is the ending.

This desperation by us as compared to the families of the missing passengers is nothing and if you multiply it by 100 times , you could see that they will be mad or sick with despair.  The announcement by PM Najib did not help at all but rather increase the suspense and despair.

So, let the end come and once and for all, the episode ends and everybody will return to their normal life. Once, I heard on the radio that the caller told the MCs that her life have changed since the MH370 incident and her mood was tense and unpredictable.  Yes, this is the same kind of feeling I am talking about.   Yuk ! Chek! lousy feelings.

Lets pray and hope the end will come instead of waiting with more and more despair.  We want our normal life back and please help us GOD.

A black day - ghost of MH370

It was a black day after PM Najib issued a statement saying that MH370 ended in the Indian ocean and offered condolence to the families of all the 239 passengers and crew members even without obtaining any debries from the plane. This kind of closure is an open ended one with more questions then answers. It was not a perfect timing and the use of SMS to inform the families of the missing person is another blunder.

This kind of happening is what have been done by the current Government to local issues and they can get over with it by not answering or replying to queries but this kind of act cannot be tolerated in the international arena. Now , there is so much hue and cry that the whole matter was not transparent and there is no proper answers been given on this case. This is also a black day for Malaysia as well.

The delay in action, the use of bomoh , incoherent announcements and flip flop answers really tear down the creditability of this Government and it is so embarrasing to see our top leaders acting so naively and in a high handed manner.  It is no point shedding crocodile tears as this is in  real life and people are getting hurt.

We are in day 17th now and yet this kind of closure , how would the families of the 239 passenger and crew feel ? Their next of kin vanished over night in thin air and the closure of the case is by using analytical data and assumptions. Would it be better to wait until more real evidence are found before the announcement ?  I think in this case, even there is a slim hope , we should keep the hope burning and provide a definite close to the case.

To the families of the passenger and crew of MH370, there is this simple citation:

Life is unperdictible and death is more certain
Our life start with the lift and end with the close of a curtain
During the journey through life, we should be the captain
Doing the things we want while waiting for our turn

Come what may, when time is ripe, we will return
To be buried nicely or to be stored in an urn
Make not mistakes we will face death and  we are not freighten
Even when we are in MH370 which ended in the ocean.

Life will go on at each  and every twist and turn.

My body is breaking down

Yesterday was  a terrible day as my body condition was not good due to lack of sleep and pain in my foot.   I think it should be the reverse , the pain in my foot caused me to have a sleepless night.  Yeah , this is the sequence.

I injured my foot doing my saturday yoga session and due to the high level of uric in my blood due to consuming all the bean contents, I suffered a mild gout attack.  The injury to my foot have actually trigger the gout attack. Gout is a combination of these two factors.

I was totally drained yesterday as I tried to catch up with my sleep as I tried to lessen the pain arising from the gout attack.  It is not a problem, if I take pain killer and it will be comfortable but I choose to weather the pain as I get medication to relief my gout.  It has a burning sensation and I was quite feverish. I have not been taking medication as the gout attack is only one or twice a year and if I control my diet, then there is totally  no occurence of this gout attack.

Diet is a very important condition for better health and exercise keep our body going. But, at certain point , we feel that our body is breaking down especially when we are caught in these uncomfortable moments.

I think it is not only me who is having this feelings but all the sportman or sport women especially when they reach the age of 30. At this age, their body condition or body injury can be very bad and a small  mis-judgement could end in permanent injury.  The recovery rate of an injury gets longer with age and there is no mystery about it. This relationship is closely related.

Once I read an article about " Tiger Woods" and he is number one in the golf world and in this article, he talks about his body is breaking down. This is a real moment and our awareness of our body is very important to avoid injury.

Yes, I must admit that I have been " thinking" like a young man and I have been doing things like many years before and at times, it strikes me that I must slow down and to avoid injury.  I must do things at my own pace and not to compete with other people younger than my age,.

Yes, age is not just a number.  We cannot avoid to accept that we are aging and how to treat our body with fairness and tenderness.  If we do not accept the fact, we will injured ourself or in worst case, could kill ourself by not slowing down.
