A trip to Saigon

Last few days, I was in Saigon for a family holidays , we stayed at the Saigon Prince Hotel which was right in the middle of the town.  Most of the places we visited is within the walking distance but the long hours of walking could be exhausting. 

We visited the Post office, the War museum , the Nordam cathedral , the Saigon square , the Ben Ha market , Takashima and a lot of the local eateries around the town area.   The Saigon square too one whole afternoon, where my wife have the time of her life shopping all the things she has been looking for.  The foods were good including the coffee and desserts.

Vietnam or Saigon have the influence of the French and the Americans just like Danang in my previous trip to Vietnam. The difference between Danang and Saigon is that the former is a war torn county but Saigon is a very well developed city .  The life in Danang is difficult while Saigon , the people are happier and they sit around in the park and enjoy their evening or squad at the eateries enjoying the street food. 

The next thing you see in Saigon city are the abundant of coffee and tea house.  The people like to drink coffee and tea and not just gather around the place for networking or socializing.   The youngers and the tourist really enjoy a good time in the city.

The eateries served a variety of food ie French food, the local Vietnamese food and good steak house .  The tourist is free to wonder around the town and on a festive mood.  But one thing is very wrong is the traffic on the roads .  It is a bike country where the locals travel around on the different type of motorbikes and behaving like cowboys or cow girls on the street.  They can zip-zap around the streets and the air there is dirty where the locals wear different designed mask which is a fashionable item for the tourist.   Wonderful design the prints .

The Saigon square, the Saigon Centre and various night markets are plentiful selling T-shirts, textile accessories, bags , watches , factory outlet products which could be dirt cheap.  But, you have to remember " good things never cheap, cheap things never good ". So dun expect any extra-ordinary happenings.  Nothing good come out of the cheap things unless you are willing to pay.   The price of good things has also a very good discount.  So don't expect , the unexpected ..

For me , I bought a bad watch which broke down on my way home.   Nice looking but poor quality inside...  So please take care and be careful.
