Wise words from the heart....

When flood comes, fish eat ants & when flood recedes, ants eat fish.
Only time matters. Just hold on, God gives opportunity to everyone!

Life is not about finding the right person, but creating the right relationship, it's not how we care in the beginning, but how much we care till ending.

Some people always throw stones in your path. It depends on you what
you make with them. Wall or Bridge? Remember you are the architect of your
life.

Every problem has (n+1) solutions, where n is the number of solutions
that you have tried and 1 is that you have not tried. That’s life.

Search a beautiful heart, but don't search a beautiful face'. Coz beautiful
things are not always good, but good things are always beautiful.

It’s not important to hold all the good cards in life. But it`s
important how well you play with the cards which you hold.

Often when we lose all hope & think this is the end, God smiles from
above and says, `relax dear its just a bend. Not the end. Have Faith and
have a successful life.

When you feel sad, to cheer up just go to the mirror and say, `Damn I
am really so cute` and you will overcome your sadness. But don’t make this a habit coz liars go to hell
.

One of the basic differences between God and human is, God gives, gives and forgives. But human gets, gets, gets and forgets. Be thankful inlife.

Angry me and angry you.

Sometimes, we all the good reasons to be  happy and all the wrong reasons to be angry.  Anger breeds anger and anger swells anger and anger can spread like flu. The big boss scold your boss and your boss scold you and you scold your subordinates and your subordinates is angry with each other.  The whole lot of people is any with each other. But , if there is break in the chain of command like if you big boos scold your boss and you boss go and bite his hands  and swallow his pride or anger, the rest ofhef team is save and more people remained happy while less people suffers. So, when I am angry, I have to break the command to avoid spreading the anger and do some good to the world. Hahaz... that is how my daughter will laugh on her SMS.  It is quite sarcastic.

But, it is so difficult not to spread the anger because by scolding your down line, you tend to feel better as you have released your anger and this mitigate your misery.  Yes, it i s a normal human character to share their pains instead of suffering in silence. When you are misery, you spread misery and wants more people to  be as misery as you. If is so difficult to sit alone and suffer, when you can spread the pain and let people suffer with you.

Anger is like a hot charcoal , it burns your hand  as you toy with it. It burns and hurts you before hurting others.  So, if you are angry , don't do  anything or say anything and just bite your lips and your tongue. The pain will pass very fast , just find a way to release it rather than causing misery to others.

When your boss scold you, just keep quiet and concentrate on your beautiful breath , go against your behaviour to fight back or talk back as a strong action often invite a strong re0d-action.  Do go against the traffic but flow with the under current or the tide. Drifting with it until calmness returns and  everything slow down.  Look away from your bosses' eyes and die in silence. Yes, we can choose to fight back and to regain our pride but is it worth it'?Swallow our saliva and slide away is the most logical step.  Don't fight anger with anger and end up a angry me and a angry you.

Practice loving kindness and Strong compassion towards a suffering person. He is only trying to share his anger with you and also to have a companion  in time of pain and suffering.  If  he wants to make you angry and if you are angry and he has succeeded. If you go against his wish, then he has failed and his misery will eat him up if he knows that.

So, do let external stimulus to affect you or your internal emotions to manage you, cut off the chain of command and make your self happy and spread your happiness to the people around you. When you are with your partner and if you need to go to the car park to take your car and there is no umbrella , do you asked your partner to go together with you to the car park and both of you getting wet or you choose to go alone and get the car to pick up your partner. There is no need for both of you to get wet and the logic is as simple as that.

Hope you get the message and now , it is a raining season , kind compassion is very much in demand.

Be playful and jolly

Be playful all the time , if you can. Dance in the rain, spray your self with water, spread yourself on the grass, hip hop when you walk. Walk backwards if you can, sun bath your self in the hot afternoon sun, walk barefoot and hug any body you see. Do something abnormal and out of the routine.  Do what your hearts feel. Don't restrict yourself. Do it now and break free.

In our Establishment, there is a time to work , there is a time to  play and we have been absorbing what is deemed a normal behaviour from our establishment. It is not right to do this or do that , it is taboo to say this or not to say that , it is insane to wear this and wear that. There are a whole of dos and don'ts. What the heck ?  All these have been set by people through the ages and through generations. What is proper in who's eyes? Why should we live to other people's standard of sanity. Are they insane? What if they are insane? If I act and behave the opposite of them, then I am sane. Sanity and insane is divided by a string thin. You can be sane or insane at the same time depending on how you look at it.

Why bother who is sane or insane > It is only a perception. If you like it  and it makes you happy, then you are sane.  If you do things which you don't like and for other people's happiness , then you are insane, Never do what you don't like and stop living according to other people's standard of sanity.

Be playful and live freely. The time and space is the limit which is infinity;. The gap of time you have is not so much and if you spend you time preserving your life than you are not living your life , Go forth and be happy and merry for what is gone is gone and what is coming is not yet here. Spring a smile and do a happy thing NOW.

What causes aging ? (news)

Protein linked with rare disease plays role .
CHICAGO - THE same mechanism that causes children with a rare genetic disease called progeria to age at seven times the normal rate may play a role in normal aging as well, US government researchers said on Monday.

The study led by Dr Francis Collins, director of the National Institutes of Health, suggests aging may not simply be a gradual wearing out of cells.

Instead, it may be an active biological mechanism - one that might be tinkered with to address age-related diseases.

'I think a lot of people in the past have assumed that the aging of cells and of individuals was just a matter of everything running down,' Dr Collins told Reuters in a telephone interview.

'What we are learning at the cellular level ... is that is not right,' said Dr Collins, whose study appears in the Journal of Clinical Investigation.

Scientists for several years have been working to understand the key biological processes that trigger aging in hopes of discovering new drugs that could delay or prevent age-related diseases such as cancer, heart disease and Alzheimer's disease.

Amazing me- it was really cool

There is a song called Amazing Grace but I was rather surprise at the amazing me.  I was so surprise of the control over my self. Usually, I would be very upset when someone accuse my staff of  some wrong doings and today, I can calmly talk to my colleague and to show him the actual facts of a transaction and sent him off to his own office.  I can defused his normally shouting style and letting him know where is his place until he could utter another word.  It is really amazing me. I have evolved and hopefully, I can continue to improve my self and remained cool under pressure.

I had a lunch with a friend and we talk about the friends, we have.  My friend told me that I have alot of "business friends ", those who behave like my friend when I am still holding a senior position in the company but in actual fact, they will not go near me after my retirement.  Yes, I agree with him and yet , I do not fully agreed with them. To have friends, who only knows how to get benefits from you or take advantage of your positions, I would not want these type of friends, not after my retirement. The basis of friendship is to obtain benefits from me. I don't deny the fact that I am serious in my job and I do not entertain nonsense, this do not make me a bad person. If you are honest and sincere , I would welcome you to be my friend and if your purpose is to get advantage from me, by all means , go away. I don't need these parasites.

Having said that, I know of an old friend and when he was down and out of a job, I could see that all his friends abandon him. He was a nice and simple man and always sincere to others and when he was holding a senior position in the bank, he was crowded with invitation for lunch or dinner and full of friends around him. When he was out, so has his friends, all of the MIAs ( Missing in Action ). It is pitiful and why do we need to be popular and bend our principle for the so-called " friends". We should maintain our principles and be our self and only attract sincere and good friends, who became our friends out of true friendship.  The outcome would be more pathetic than we think. So, lets kick out all those falsehoods and two timers and have some strong foundation for good friendships which can last a life time.

There is a saying " many are called , a few are chosen" , the same applies to friends. We do not need the whole town full of friends but we need only a few sincere and honest friends who like you as you are and you like them as they are. We do not need to change for others and others do not need to change for us. This is the true meeting of friendship.

Our art of living

If I may enlighten you that in the market there are so many teachings on the art of living.  The Silva Mind Control,  Ravi Shankar's art of living, Transcental d Meditation (TM), Rama Kumari, Sai Baba ,etc and most  of these teachings are from India  It would  not be surprising as there are many great teachers who are from India and lately, the Tibetan Buddhism is also coming out in a big way with many books and article on Buddhism and from the great teachers from Tibet. Buddhism is spreading gradually in some countries and a lot of westerners are now open to Buddhism.

Well, my point is not about religion but the art of living. It is a difficult subject because it requires changes in the basic character of a person, their mentality, their thinking, their experiences, their education  and their inquisitive mind. This is a whole lot of complex equations and possible outcome. Finally, we need their patience and their discipline to see through whole exercise and have a logical evaluation of the process. Blind fate would not change a person unless it is a miracle or a dramatic experience  they have gone through.

The basic requirement is to unlearn to learn . How can we unlearn ? What we learn , we have stored it in us and there is no possibility of erasing our memory, There was this story of a businessman who encountered a big problem in his business and he do not know how to solved it. He make an appointment with his Master and the next day, he tracked up the hill and finally reach the hut of his Master.  He saw his Master making tea and he took a seat in front of him.  The Master did not say a word after the businessman explained his problem to him.  His Master took the tea pot and start pouring the tea in to his student's tea cup and he continued to pour after the cup is full until the water is flowing out from his cup. His student  told his Master that the tea is overflowing but the Master keep pouring for a little while more and stop.  He told his student to go home and think about the tea.
The businessman think for a few days and did not understand what his Master is trying to tell him.  So, what is your interpretation?

The Master is trying to tell the businessman that his mind is fill with the problem and he is going in circles finding the solution but there is no solution.  His Master is telling him to "pour " out all his solutions which is based on his past experience  and re-look at the problem with a clear mind. A lot of time, we are focusing on the problem and try to solve it with our experience. We should try to look outside the box and to be able to look outside the box, we have to have an open mind and the guts to accept the risk and manage the risk. Most of  the time, we play it safe like wanting the cake and eat it at the same time. This is not possible and incomprehensible. To unlearn, we have to know our mind and understand our mental habits  which often take charge of our mind. This is the past experience and the past education which I am talking about. Hence, we have to learn to unlearn and learn again. If we know our mind , we will not let our emotions blur our judgement. Our emotions is a recipe of our senses and expectations and if we realize and accept it , we can control it and not it disturb or confuse our mind,

To establish our art of living, we have to break new grounds and seek wisdom to change our self. If we have live for many years, bad habits are formed and mental habits have taken over our mind. We have to acknowledge it and accept it but not re-acting to it.  If we can do it, we will find our basic self and our true mind which is the basis for eternal bliss and happiness and that is the objective of our art of living.

Tai chi in chemo - the beautiful chi.

There is an article in today's Star which wrote about the effectiveness of Tai Chi exercise during a chemo treatment. It helps to relieve the pain, fatigue and the side effects of a chemo treatment.  I have been practising Tai Chi for 3 years now but lately, I have  been focusing more on yoga for exercise to keep fit. Both exercise is actually complimenting each other.  Yoga is to improve the flexibility of our muscles and our joints and relax our body to get the full benefits from a Tai Chi  exercise. Lastly, one very important complimentary contribution from yoga to Tai Chi is that yoga opens up the air space in our lungs where the beautiful chi of Tai Chi can access and be absorbed by our body.

For youngsters, Tai Chi is too slow and it does not push them to the limit unlike iron pumping, aerobics, combat kungfu, kickboxing, etc. But, there is more in Tai Chi, then just slow movements and breathing. It is also described as a meditation in motion with awareness and a great philosophy in life.  I have written an article on Tai Chi in my blog and I would not like to repeat the history of Tai Chi in this article. Basically, I would like to dwell on the benefits of the exercise.

The basic of  Tai Chi is to be firm in the leg movements while upper body should be as flexible as possible like the branches of a tree which sway with the wind. When you are in motion of the exercise, you should be as relax as possible like you are swimming in the water.  Every movement of the leg is in a pattern following the routine but more important is in the movement of the hand which controls the breathing of each breath. When the hand is moving towards the body, you should breath and be your hand movement is pushing away from your body, you should breath out.  So, if you hand movement is slow, you breath also slow down  and this provides a calm to the body and relax your mind.

Awareness is another important aspect of the exercise. During the movement of the hand and the breath, you should focus on the breath moving in and out of the body. You should be aware of the start of the breath, the slowness of the breath moving into the body and the turning point of the breath changing from breathing in and moving out of the breath from your body. So, your mind should be aware of the whole process and enjoy each beautiful breath moving in and out of the body. This is the reason why the exercise is called meditation in motion.  To maximize the benefit, the movement and the motion of the hands, legs  and breath should be slow but in a continuous motion without any interruptions.

Just like meditation, you can not just sit down and meditate and expect the benefits to be felt immediately. We have to be persistent and through repeated exercise, you will be able to experience the benefits coming in gradually. Some people are able to feel the benefits after a few exercise but for some it may take abit longer. Repeating the routine and proper guidance is the only way to get the maximum benefits from the exercise.

For some people, the routine is complicated and difficult to remember. There is no easy way to enjoy the benefits and joy from Tai Chi. You have to be patient and a good trainer will make it easier for you to learn the art. Once, you know the routine and you persist  to practice the art, you will have no regrets and you will see the changes in your body , your mind and your life. You will be calmer, healthier and wiser , in addition to to relieve the pain from Chemo.
