5 powerful actions to make a day good -extract

There is no better feeling than walking away from your desk in the evening with a sense of deep satisfaction for a job well done.
In fact, an entire crappy and unproductive day can end strong with just 15 hyper-productive minutes. Here are five ways to help you do just that:

1. Empty your inbox.

Productivity experts will tell you that keeping your inbox empty makes you dramatically more effective. I have found that anempty inbox late in the day gives me a strong sense of accomplishment and order in my life. If I want an empty inbox, it means everything is in a designated spot: either in the trash, in my calendar, or forwarded to someone else.
I go so far as to make sure that hitting the delete button on the last trashable inbox message is my last action, and then I immediately close my laptop (while imaginary victory music plays in my mind) and I walk away. It is an incredible feeling.

2. Determine what will make tomorrow special.

Too often we live with a time-and-effort mentality. “Well, I worked my butt off and it was a long day -- I must have been effective.” Not necessarily so. Some of my most grueling days are my least productive. It is not about time and effort. It is about results. It is about a intentionally significant effort.
Plan out at the end of the day what will make tomorrow truly significant. What one accomplishment will make the entire day worthwhile?

3. Eat a frog.

Mark Twain suggested that if you eat a live frog first thing in the morning, nothing else throughout your day could possibly be so bad. I agree, but the advice also holds true for the last thing you do before you go home.
If you leave a nagging and undesirable task until the next day, you will walk away from your desk with a dark cloud hanging over you and a sense of dread. On the other hand, handle the task before you leave, (get it out of your life) and you will walk away with a feeling of freedom and victory!

4. Do something nice for someone else.

The key here is intentionality. Plan to end your day by doing something specific and beneficial for someone in your life -- a coworker, friend, family member, client, etc. It is impossible to do something nice for someone without feeling better yourself. You get to walk away from work knowing that you made someone else’s life better and you are in a better state of mind.

5. Say thank you.

You have a job. People pay you. Because of this, you can put food on your plate. You live in a great country. You have opportunity, education and hope. Do you realize how rare that makes you in the grand scheme of things?
Take a moment before you shut things down for the day to thank God for your very life. Regardless of what else has happened in a day, ending it with thanks is a rewarding approach. When you go big picture with gratitude, you get a new perspective on the grievances of any given day.
End your day with an exclamation point! End your day like you mean it. End your day on an upbeat. End your day intentionally and with purpose. End your day strong!

Do you know where are we going to ?

Many times, we feel desperate as if we are running in circles and cirlces from the day  we start to realize our existence.  For some people, it may be a  young age and for others, it could be later. If we tell these people before their time, they will laugh at you and they will tell you that they do not know what we are talking about or are we nuts ?

When I was young , my mum told me to listen to her advise , otherwise, I am the one who will lost out. But , her advise always fell on my deaf ear. One of the advise is that we have to be cautious and take no chances. "It is not the one thousand and one risk but one risk in the thousand".  I don't understand her logic and I just laugh it off. But , this advise is very logical.  If we feel very egotic or very confident that the error will not occur with the thousand things we do but when if it error occur, all our effort will be wasted before it can reach the thousand and one.

Such are our awareness. But as age goes by, this words became more and more meaningful.  Many things happen before our eyes and we are aware of the chances of the risk with each experience or each knowledge. Our senses become sharper and our thoughts become wasier.

It is like talking to our servant who have not got much education. The communication just cannot get through if we keep our level of understanding. We should  move ourself to their level and speak to them at the level of understanding. Usually, this is the gap between to people ie each talking at their own level and expecting the other person to understand them.  It is not possible for our servant to move up to our thinking or our knowledge and this is only one way, we have to move down to their level.

We feel frustrate with the people around us and we are angry at imperfections.  Why ? No two people thinks alike and nobody have have the perfect communication with another. Rarely , we can find these people sharing the view about life , work and ideas. If this harmony happens, then these two people will become perfect or very good friends.

It is our ego which is detering us from bring ourself down and where do we go ? We become isolated, frustrated and angry. We shout and curse and blame others , except ourselves and it is our fault in the first place. If we tune our radio channel not perfectly , then there is a lot of white noice and buzzing into our ears and make the words or music coming out of the radio. Again, we are angry with the radio but it is our fault that we have not wind into the right channel.

It is so hypocritical in life. We know where we are going to but is it really  the direction we want.

Namaste.

What are our chances if we are fearful.?

Once I read a story about two rats. They live in a  hole on the wall oppersite to each other and the owner of the house bought a cat one day and let it loose in the house. One day when the rats came out of their hole, they were chased severely by the cat. But , both managed to get back into their hole. There was two choice for them . Either to run out of the house or keep waiting for the cat to ran off. One rat choose to run off while the other rat choose to stay behind.  The rat staying behind is wondering what is the fate of the other rat?  whether he managed to escape the jaws of the cat or is running freely outside. Fear grips him and he kept waiting and postponing his escapee. Finally, he died of starvation. It does not matter whether the other rat survived or not. The end result is that he is dead.

The morale of the story is that if we are fearful, we can only live to die. We just keep postponing our decision because we are fearful of losing , fearful of getting hurt or fearful of our shadows. The fear hold us back and we are suffering so much inside us. Is it worth it ? Not having to live the life we desire. Life without a purpose and driven by fear.

There was another story about a monk meditating in a broken down temple. He closed his eyes to meditate and as he meditate, he hear a sound getting louder and louder. Yes, it is a big rat and as the sound gets louder and louder , the rat gets bigger and bigger. He struggle not open his eyes for the fear that he will meet a rat as big as the tiger. Finally, he open his eyes and saw a small rat.  The fear in him manifest and build the image of a small rat to become a bigger rat. He manufactures the fear inside him.

I hope these two stories really awaken some one who is in this situation of fear. What is there to be fearful. If some thing happen or we are hurt, we should climb up and try again if we still have the chance. It is useless staying and watching the world goes by. It is better to be part of the living and evolving world.

Namaste.

A little bit of madness.

A bit of madness

I think everyone of us have a bit of madness inside us. It is uncontrollable and it took over all our logical senses.o
The decision or judgement is so unreasonable at the particular moment but the firmness hold strong.

At that particular moment it is as solid as the Great Wall of China . Whatever words or sweet talk would not sway. The madness wins it all. So the best thing to do is to let the teeth sinks it and wait for better times

It is so useless to win it over and the more pressure we exert, the more it will bounced back. No point wasting your time as it will be a adverse effect. Just let it go.

On our side, the situation is so rediculous and absurb and it is so unreasonable that we can hold our righteous thoughts back and we hope that we can lift the wool of the eyes. It is so stupid to step back and accept it.

That is when a quarrel remained unabated as we fight fire with fire. The outcome is a bigger fire.

Know when to retreat or to go forward is he skill of a wiseman.

11 anti-aging food ( extract)

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth

1. Eating sweet potatoes has lots of benefits, including keeping your skin firm.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Every time you eat a sweet potato you do your whole body a favor, including your face. “Sweet potato is an incredibly healthy food filled withcarotene (key ingredient for glowing skin), vitamin C and B6, biotin and fiber and a strong antioxidant,” says Stephanie Middleberg, a NewYork based dietitian and founder of Middleberg Nutrition. It’s also a good source of copper, which helps your body produce collagen, making the tubers a cheaper and less painful delivery system than facial injections.
But how you eat your sweet potatoes matters, too: Sweet potato fries are not necessarily a healthier choice than regular ol’ French fries. “It really depends how they are cooked,” says Keri Gans, a New York-based registered dietician and the author of the The Small Change Diet. “If they are deep fried, then don’t be fooled, you’re still eating a French fry.” Try making some baked sweet potato fries instead, so you get the nutrition without the unhealthy fats.

2. The antioxidants in berries can repair your skin and may even keep your brain young.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Anthocyanin, the antioxidant that gives many berries their eye-catching colors, can also protect your skin from UV rays. “Strawberries are also a good source of silica, a vital trace mineral for healthy skin and connective tissue,” says Middleberg.
On top of that, researchers at Tufts University and University of Maryland Baltimore County found that after feeding rats a blueberry and strawberry diet over two months, and then using irradiation to accelerate aging, the rats’ brains had lower levels of toxins in them. “We are hoping [these results] will translate to human studies as well,” said Dr. Barbara Shukitt-Hale, the lead investigator of the study.
Try these Red White and Blue Berry yogurt popsicles for something sweet and healthy (or any of these delicious summer berry desserts if you want to indulge a little more.)

3. Beans help your skin by reducing inflammation and improve your heart health with protein and fiber.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
“Beans, in general, are amazing,” says Gans. They are full of protein, fiber, and B vitamins, all of which do your body good. The protein and fiber are good for your heart health, and the B vitamins, Gans says, reduce inflammation of the skin.
While different kinds of beans have different levels of specific nutrients, Gans says to go ahead and just eat the ones you like. “But,” she says, “I’m not saying eat refried beans,” which can be high in fat. Instead, eat them plain or with your huevos rancheros.

4. Oats are also filled with skin-improving B vitamins.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
“I’m a huge advocate of oatmeal,” says Gans. Oats are packed with a number of important nutrients, including B vitamins, fiber, and protein. Those B vitamins are great for your skin, hair and nails, but they also go deeper to nourish your nervous system. The fiber helps keep your digestive system chugging along, and protein keeps your energy levels up.
But, Gans adds, “I’m not suggesting instant oatmeal that’s flavored with sugar.” Try these superfood packed overnight oats instead.

5. Milk can give you Vitamin D if you aren’t getting it from time in the sun.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Our bodies need Vitamin D, which we usually get from the sun, so that we can absorb calcium and maintain good bone health. Plus, according to a 2007 British study, higher levels of Vitamin D can also improve the health of the DNA in our cells, slowing the aging process and protecting against age-related diseases.
“You really only need ten minutes a day of sun to meet your Vitamin D needs,” says Gans. But for some people, especially in the winter, even that ten minutes may be hard to get. For those cases, Gans recommends milk, since nearly all is fortified with Vitamin D. Some orange juices and non-dairy milks are as well. Just check the nutrition label.

6. Curry powder may prevent the growth of toxic brain cells and prevent Alzheimer’s.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Curry has long been used in India to treat a variety of diseases, including breast cancer, liver disease, and hemorrhoids, but recentresearch shows it might also prevent Alzheimer’s. In 2001, researchers at the University of California Los Angeles found that curcumin, a compound in curry, lowered certain toxins in the brains of Alzheimer-like mice, concluding, “this Indian spice component shows promise for the prevention of Alzheimer’s disease.”
Try these easy Roasted Curried Chickpeas, which come with lots of healthy protein and fiber, too.

7. Sardines and anchovies are full of brain-healthy omega-3 fatty acids (and have lower mercury levels and price tags than most salmon).

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Consuming more omega-3’s in your diet can slow the natural deterioration of your brain as you age, according to a January 2014 study.
Look for European anchovies from the Adriatic Sea or Pacific sardines to get the most omega-3’s with the least mercury. (Bonus: The tiny bones in sardines are another good source of Vitamin D.) Scared to try anchovies? Ease yourself in with aGreen Goddess dip.

8. Cocoa may lower your risk of heart disease and prevent diabetes and cancer — but choosing your chocolate carefully is essential.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Not all chocolate is equally healthy, but the right kind can actually improve your health. “Pure cacao,” Middleberg says, “is extremely healthy.” In a study of the Kuna Indians off the coast of Panama, scientists attributed the population’s low risk of high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease (despite their weight and salt consumption) to their high cocoa intake — ten times more than what an American would typically consume.
However, those scientists also drew a distinction between Kuna cocoa — made from dried, ground beans with just a bit of sweetener — and commercial chocolate, which is usually highly processed and has lost much of its healthfulness. “You want to look for varieties [of powder, nibs, or chocolate] that are above 75% cacao,” Middleberg says, “because the more cacao, the less sugar and fillers.”
Eat cocoa nibs straight up if you like the bitterness, or try making these Raw Cocoa, Nut & Berry Truffles.

9. Healthy fats like olive oil and nuts can lower your risk of heart attack, stroke, and death from cardiovascular disease.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Not all fat is bad! Some kinds may even help you live longer. In a five-year study of almost 7,500 participants, Harvard researchers found that people who consumed either an extra liter of extra virgin olive oil every week or an extra ounce of mixed nuts every day had significantly fewer heart attacks, strokes and death than the participants on the low-fat diet. “The reduction was impressive,” wrote Dr. Anthony Komaroff, Editor in Chief of Harvard Health Publications.
Nuts and olive oil are both easy to incorporate into your diet. Cook with olive oil, and snack on raw nuts next time you find yourself reaching for potato chips. However, Middleberg says, “It is still easy to overdo it.” She recommends limiting servings to 1 tablespoon of olive oil, 1 ounce of nuts, and 1-2 tablespoons of nut butter.

10. Spinach and other green leafy vegetables can boost your energy, make your bones stronger, and protect your eyes.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
It seems like there’s not much spinach can’t do. Those little leaves are full of iron, Vitamin K, and the nutrients lutein and zeaxanthin. The iron will boost your energy and build your muscles, while the Vitamin K will help your bone density and prevent prevent fractures and osteoporosis. The lutein and zeaxanthin allows your retinas to absorb damaging light before it can hurt yourvision, and lower the risk of chronic eye diseases like cataracts and age-related macular degeneration (AMD), according to the American Optometric Association.
Adding spinach to your diet is easy because you can eat it raw or cooked, sautéing it takes about a minute, and you can throw it into dishes where it’s not even listed as an ingredient. To get the full benefits of fat-soluble Vitamin K, be sure to eat it with some fat, like olive oil or cheese, so that your body can absorb it. Try putting it in a quiche like this one.

11. Moderate intake of red wine can improve cardiovascular health, may prevent cancer and even help treat diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.

11 Foods That May Be The Fountain Of Youth
Good news for red wine lovers: A glass a night can improve your cardiovascular health. According to studies from the University of California Davis, antioxidants in the red grapes’ skin and seeds can reduce production of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol, increase HDL (“good”) cholesterol, and reduce blood clotting. Other studies have found that the antioxidant resveratrol in the grapes’ skins can prevent tumor development, as well as help your body create nerve cells, which may help treat neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Choose drier (less sweet) red wines for the biggest health benefits, say UC Davis researchers. Not a wine drinker? You don’t need to pick up the habit. “If you’re not drinking alcohol, I don’t recommend you start just to get the health effects,” says Middleberg. Eating grapes will give the same benefits, says Gans.

And don’t forget: “There’s more to anti-aging besides foods,” says Gans. “That’s why sleep, exercise, and reducing stress, if at all possible, are important.”

The Yin Yoga

The Yin Yoga

Yesterday, my yoga class was conducted another Yogi and she ais practicing the Yin yoga. She explained that the nimala yoga Is a yang yoga which build strength in our muscles where as the Yin yoga is the practice of relaxin our muscles into a form. The purpose is to have a totally relaxed body before easing into a form.

This understanding draw parallel to the Chinese martial art which have the hard and soft type. The hard form have hard punches and firm stand while the soft type like Tai Chi is the soft type. The body must be as soft as the water but still keeping a strong internal chi.

The Yin yoga draw the strength from the relax muscles which settles the body into a form. It has the leverage to stretch the muscles and the spine.. It is a force on force and both force finally form a relaxed form with the muscles pulling each other.

The practice  yesterday  was on the rotation of the spine. A six point rotation . The left and right stretching , the up and down  and the twisting of the left and the right side of the spine.

It was a totally different way and it was so slow and relax and we came to understand that we have to alternate this hard and soft form to realize the full potential of yoga.

Making something out of nothing

Making something out of nothing at all.

Only magicians can do it making something ku of thin air. These are highly intelligent people. But   Don't be mistaken there some lowly people who can create a story out of nothing. These lowly people are cowards , making this world a difficult place for all.

The existence of such lowly people is because the world is imperfect and the world need these lowly figures to make life interesting and challenging.

Without the bad , there is no good and vice versa. Only the bad brings out the good just like light showing the existence of darkness. I there is no happiness then there is no sadness. This is Buddha's middle path.

When we say making things out of nowhere, it means that we are creating a story to conspire or framing up a good man or fictitious story make real.

Remember we sow what we reap. The Law of Karma.
