A hard day's night

This is a title to a song sang by the Beatles. One of lyric quote “ it has been a hard days night and I have been working a dog “. How true is this statement? But then, how difficult can it be ? It only needs deep thoughts and time. Everything can be resolved but the outcome is uncertain that is all. Good , bad or ugly. There will be an end result.

A problem cannot be resolved is not a problem. It is already a certainty and a dead fact. So, what can we do about it. We can only accept it and manage around it. So, how can that be a problem. I have always maintain that there can only be quitters and no failures. If we continue to focus on a problem, there will be a solution and the outcome will be what we expect.

So, there is a very popular saying “ let sleeping dogs lie”. Another more dramatic wisdom is “ why flock a dead horse ? “. The horse is already dead and if we continue to whip it , it is of no use. Why waste your resources and energy ?

We have to analyst whether it is a problem or a dead fact. This is very important to understand the status of the problem. Often, it is very vague. On the surface, it is a problem and it needs efforts or focus to handle it but in actual fact, it is already a dead fact if we do not understand or know the underlying situation. We have to get all the facts above or underlying in order not to waste our effort.

One example of a dead fact is that it is raining now and you cannot change that fact or stop the rain but to find a solution not to get wet or stay in-door or postpone the event in an open field. If your car got into accident, you know that you have to report to the police and you will need to pay a penalty or a fine and if worst, you have to pay for the repair.

The difference between a dead fact and a problem is, you car’s wheel is loose when you are traveling in it. Do you want to stop , slowdown or drive to seek help from a mechanic before you get into an accident. So, you can still control the outcome and do something to avoid it.

If it is clear in our mind, we will reduce a lot of problems and will live a more happier life and not to waste our precious time on the matter which the outcome is fixed. It is better to be more analytical and clear in our understanding.

Namaste.
