on the way to Aftica - 5 Djibouti
This is a former French colony and have a population of 800,000 and have a strategic port for Ethiopia. Without the port this could be one of God forsaken place.
The sky is always sunny throughout the year with three days of rainfall for 45 minutes each. The highest temperature is 49% c and lowest is 29 % C. So, the temperature is hot all the while. Humid and hot.
It is almost like desert and they have camels on the field and roads and the land is almost barren. What can we do there except swimming and sun bathing. Even that is abit too hot.
I did not know the country before my 2nd visit to Ethiopia . The island country host three army bases ie US, France and Japan on a anti- terrorism agreement to protect their cargo going through the Panama Canal.
So, who on earth with right mind will come to this place for holidays? But there a lot of young French tourist who come here for swimming and sun tan. But the port is the Main Revenue earner and could help to provide funding to this small country. One more nasty news , the visa on arrival is Us$60 on entry whose than the fee to go In the Sands casino in Singapore.
Absurd.
Namaste.
