Late in the night

Now, it is past 1am and I am still wide awake. There was this restless feeling in me. It might because of the heavy schedule for the day. I dozed off in the early part of the night while watching TV.

My mind was active  while my eyes were very tired and yet my heart don't want to let the day go. I have  a lot of mixed feelings. Why have life gone so complicated? So, many thoughts go through my mind.

I believe I am no different from you and others. Our mind is make for thinking as our shoes are mend for walking. If we have trained our mind well, then we will be able to control our mind. It will be a marvellous  day if it ever happen to us. Life will be much better .

If I ever try to sleep , I will need to let go of my restlessness and fear. I realized that many times , it  is fear that make us hold back. The grip is getting tighter in us as we struggle to let go.

I am writting now to tired  myself out but there are many ways  to do it but our sentiments keep circulating around us back and forth. We will have to act out our parts and  we should move on .seekIng for a peaceful sleep.

Namaste.

A honest day's work

When we are doing an honest day's work,we often come across imperfections and  irregularities. If that happens , what do we do about it. If we choose to ignore it and move on the  irregularities or imperfections could lead to a bigger problem in the future or it could result in a disaster. Sometimes, it could hurt a friend or an innocent by-stander. If it is left unattended, sometimes it will just go away.

If we choose to stop the rot or correct the imperfections , it could also hurt a friend or a by-stander and it  may become worst before it can get better. We cannot have the cake and eat it at the same time.

Either way, there is a cause and effect. If there is a start, it will have several endings. The outcome cannot be managed or control. That is the reason why life is so interesting.

Very often our ever fixing mind or our righteous heart will take the appropriate actions to ratify all the imperfections without fear or favor. It is just another honest day of work but it would  caused Iirreparable  damage or it.could result in the smearing of some good names.

Whether you do something or not doing anything , it is still doing something ie there is an ending result and we have to face it.  Nothing is static , there will be an end or result whether you like it or not.

No through roads ...

There is an ancient Chinese sayings "  Got no through roads ". It is literally translated and it simply implies that we have reached a dead end. The only way is turning back but it cannot be done as time have moved forward and there is no way of going back.   It was a moment of suspense.  What shall we do ?

The above is like saying something silly and it has already hurt the person listening to it.  How can we reverse the event and the hurting have been done. Can we pull back our words or our actions to reversed the hurt ? No way.  It will never be the same again. A broken glass mirror cannot be fix and even if we managed to fix it, the crack line is there. The line will forever be there.

If these things happens in our life, we can only be regretful. Even if we explain and apologize a thousand times, it will be of no help. So, before we do it, we have to be aware of the outcome and try to avoid such situations.

Sometimes, the situation maybe created by another party knowingly or unknowningly. It is like a "sudden change of  fate, life will be changed forever".Such events will just happen in our life and we have take it and bite the bullet. We have to accept  that somethings  like such events can happen anytime and we are the scape goat or the fall guy to take the wrap.

What can we do if our actions have hurt other people ?  Like the broken mirror, there is no remedy.  Just absorbed it and take it as a lesson and pray hard for the affected person.  Repent and learn how to make life better for other people and create more positive karma.

In silence and in our heart, we can pray silently and to balance the negative karma from our mistakes. The Lord Buddha have Great compassion and forgiveness. We have to live on.

Namaste.

80,000 Buddhists attend Buddhist Cultural and Dharma Blessing Ceremony

November 24, 2012
SHAH ALAM, Nov 24 – About 80,000 Buddhists from six countries tonight attended the Buddhist Cultural & Dharma Blessing ceremony “2012 Marvellous Malaysia-Venerable Master Hsing Yun” at Shah Alam Stadium here.

The six countries were Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand and Taiwan.
People from all walks of life thronged the stadium as early as 6pm to catch a glimpse of Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Fo Guang Shan Buddhist order.

A total of 108 monks and nuns from the Fo Guang Shan temple in Taiwan flanked the 86-year old Master Hsing Yun who gave a two-hour sermon to his followers.

He advised them to foster a message of peace, love and harmony among each other for a better life.
“This would make Malaysia a country of discipline and well being,” he said.

The ceremony was also attended by politicians and religious leaders including Minister of Health Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Tan Sri Dr Koh Tsu Koon, Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Donald Lim Siang Chai, Deputy Minister of Trade, Consumerism and Cooperatives, Datuk Tan Lian Hoe and Head monk of Buddhist Maha Vihara Temple, Brickfields, Kuala Lumpur, Datuk Seri Dhammaratana.

Master Hsing Yun - In Malaysia (24th Nov 2012)

Early life and career
Hsing Yun was born on the 22nd day of the seventh lunar month (August 30 in Western standards), 1927 in Jiangsu province in China under the name Li Guoshen (李國深). He was the third of four children, with an older brother, an older sister, and a younger brother. His father left home to do business and was never heard from again. When his mother, who was a faithful Buddhist herself, was desperately searching for her husband, he went to Nanjing. By chance, he came across a monk at Qixia Monastery. The host monastic asked young Li if he wanted to become a monastic, to which Li immediately answered "yes". At that time during Li's childhood, a civil war was ensuing and living conditions were harsh, which may have been a cursor for Li's tonsure at a young age.[2] The host monastic requested that Li could be tonsured under Zhi Kai, the abbot of the monastery, therefore, Zhi Kai would be his master. At the age of twelve, young Li was tonsured. He was ordained under two dharma names, one to be used publicly and another for lineage purposes; Jinjue (今覺, to be enlightened today), and Wuche (悟徹, thorough realization of enlightenment).
In 1941, Jinjue was fully ordained and went on to formal monastic training at Qixia Vinaya School and transferred to Chiao-Shan Buddhist College in 1945. One day, when Jinjue was still a student at Jiao-Shan Buddhist College, he happened to stumble onto the word "Nebula" in the dictionary, read as Xīngyún in Chinese. Jinjue admired the infiniteness and boundlessness of these nebulas and wished that he could shed light on darkness and be as free and unbound as clouds and stars. Out of necessity and for safety issues, when Jinjue needed a new identification card after China's victory over Japan, he gave himself the dharma name of Hsing Yun (spelled in Wade Giles pinyin).
He left the college at the age of twenty to become a principal at an elementary school in Yixing, a small town not far from Nanjing, where he learned about administration and interpersonal coordination skills. As mainland China was enmeshed in civil war, he left his home in 1949 to head for Taiwan. He began to propagate Buddhism around the age of 31 to 40 at Ilan, thus beginning his writing and missionary career. In 1949, Hsing Yun wrote his first book, "Singing in Silence". In later years, he founded several Buddhist publications, was promoted as editor-in-chief for many Buddhist periodicals and newsletters for various temples, wrote articles for major Taiwanese newsletters, and composed scripts for radio broadcast stations. In 1955, he published one of the first hardback biographies of the Buddha.
Sometime later during the Cultural Revolution, his master Zhi Kai was killed and the monastery and college he attended was nearly destroyed by the Red Guards. After his success in founding Fo Guang Shan, Hsing Yun would return to the Mainland in the 1980s to help fund for the college and monastery.
When Hsing Yun was a writer for local Taiwanese newsletters, magazines, and radio stations, he chose the pseudonym of Mo Jia (摩迦), the Chinese name for Mahakasyapa, a senior disciple of the Buddha. He called himself this because he made a strenuous effort in promoting the Dharma and writing. Some time later, he called himself Jiao Fu (腳夫), meaning porter. He called himself this because he served people, carried loads and labored. Jiao Fu was also the pen name for a romantic novel Hsing Yun wrote called "National Master Yulin" (玉琳國師), which was later turned into a television soap opera, Continued Fate of Love.
In the 1950s, Hsing Yun taught numerous classes, built many schools for children, recorded the first Buddhist hymns, and was promoted as an executive in many Buddhist associations. In 1957, Hsing Yun established a Buddhist cultural center in which a variety of Buddhist books are published with training tools such as audio and visual aids. In 1959, Hsing Yun also supported the Tibetan movement against communist suppression, and organized the first float parade in celebration of the Buddha's birthday in Taiwan. Hsing Yun was instrumental in building the Buddha Memorial Center in Kaohsiung, housing a tooth relic of the Buddha that was presented to him by Kunga Dorje Rinpoche in 2001. The facilities were opened in 2011.
Hsing Yun was one of eight venerables who proposed the semiannual World Buddhist Forum in China in 2004, a suggestion that won support from Buddhist circles in countries like Japan and the Republic of Korea.

[edit] Health

In recent years, Hsing Yun has been confined to a wheelchair and had not made extensive public appearances, contrasting to previous years when he made several trips to his chapter temple branches. On December 26, a day after the opening of the Buddha Memorial Center in Kaohsiung, Hsing Yun suffered a minor stroke and was in stable condition when he was rushed to the hospital.[8]

[edit] Interreligious Exchange

[edit] Roman Catholic Church

In 1997, Hsing Yun was invited to a Cross-century Religious Dialogue with Pope John Paul II. Under the invitation of the Roman Catholic Church at the Vatican, Hsing Yun met with the Pope to promote inter-religious exchange between the two parties and to pray for world peace. On June 21, 2006, Hsing Yun met John Paul II's successor, Pope Benedict XVI, in a general audience at St. Peter's Basilica. During the meeting, Benedict XVI expressed his best regards for the Taiwanese and said he will pray for them. The Pope also expressed the hope of meeting the Taiwanese people.

[edit] Fo Guang Shan

In 1967, Hsing Yun purchased more than 30 hectares in Ta Shu Township, Kaohsiung County as the site for the construction of a monastery. The groundbreaking ceremony was held on May 16. He began by building the colleges and their dormitories, and working slowly towards building the shrines.

[edit] Branch Temples

Soon after the building of Fo Guang Shan, many countries, including most parts of Taiwan, each had their own Fo Guang Shan branch temple. Hsi Lai Temple (USA), Nan Tien Temple (Australia), and Nan Hua Temple (South Africa) are among the biggest branch temples. Fo Guang Shan branch temples can be found in the United States, Canada, Brazil, Japan, Hong Kong, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia (Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Wollongong), France, the Netherlands, South Africa, New Zealand (Auckland and Christchurch) and the United Kingdom.

[edit] Abbotship: 1967-1985

Beginning in 1967, Hsing Yun served as the abbot of Fo Guang Shan for the first three terms, working to promote Humanistic Buddhism. Master Hsing Yun announced his abdication on September 22, 1985. He handed not only the abbotship, but also gave dharma transmission to his most senior disciple, Hsin Ping.

[edit] Closing Fo Guang Shan

In May 1997, Master Hsing Yun announced that he would close the mountain gate of Fo Guang Shan to the general public, in part of his wish for himself and his disciples (lay and monastic) the cloistered atmosphere they need for their Buddhist practice. In Chinese Buddhism, it is common for most mountain monasteries to remain in retreat periodically for months, and sometimes years. At the end of 2000, ROC President Chen Shui-bian and government officials from Kaohsiung visited Fo Guang Shan bringing with them the wish from their constituents that Fo Guang Shan reopen its gates. Fo Guang Shan acceded and partially reopened the monastery a year later.

[edit] Involvement in Politics

Unlike most prominent Buddhist leaders in Taiwan who have withdrawn from making political statements or have kept them private, Hsing Yun is notable in openly involving himself with Taiwanese and Chinese politics, and is a prominent supporter of the One China policy. For example, in 2009 Hsing Yun exclaimed that there are "no Taiwanese" and that Taiwanese "are Chinese."[9] during the second World Buddhist Forum, causing a rift between himself and those on the Pan-Green coalition. He has also encouraged reconciliation between China and the Dalai Lama[10], though he has distanced himself from the Dalai Lama in the past for fears of causing rifts between him and his organisation and the Chinese government.[11] During the 2008 presidential election, Hsing Yun publicly endorsed Kuomintang candidate Ma Ying-jeou.[12]

Re-inforce our energy

Why are we frequently tired  or low in energy?  We yawn alot and do not have enough sleep or rest
and we dozed off while doing something  or waiting. Most of the time we cannot focus or in a daze.
It time to be aware of this happening to you and your body is telling you something.

There is something wrong with you and you have to take actionthy s to provide a solution for yourself. Low energy and feeling tired, take away your good life. You are unable to do what you should do or need to  do and you comprised your life, your work, your responsibiliyt , your loved ones and your friends.  By not taking any appropriate actions, you are been selfish.  Look into yourself and zoom into your problem.

There are several possibilities and solutions and you really have to consider and take urgent actions to put this problem behind you.

1) It maybe your life style - change your habits, friends ,balance your work life  and pursue your interest. Try qigong, Tai Chi , yoga and tap the universal energy from above.

2) You maybe sick - see a Doctor and get the appropriate mdication ie high blood pressure.

3) It can be the food you eat - explore the food your eat , make sure there is enough vitamins and nutrition and sufficient amount to provide the energy. Try some energy drinks which meet your taste and passion.

4) It maybe your character or hereditary- be aware of this weakness in you and try to change your habits even if it is difficult.

5) Your body chemistry - it maybe your layback attitute and your passive lifestyle. Exercise and improve your mobility. Find the spark that draw you out.

6) Frustration or stress at work or personal life - improve your wisdom and have enough rest. Balace your working and private life.

7) Your monkey or troubling mind - discipline and tame your mind  through meditation or get proper training to keep the discipline.

There is a reason for everything , just keep exploring and searching to find the source of your trouble. Once you get it , remove and change it with vigor.

How we die, does it matters ?

This remark have been in my mind for a few days since I read in this remark placed in the FB by a friend, SF. I was talking to her about life is uncertain and she fully agreed with me but she is uncertain how we die.  Is this so important ?  We should be worrying how we live , right?

Nowadays,  Cancer is the number one killer followed by heart failures , viral infections and on and on... So, we die if not by the above disease, then  it  will be by old age if there is no accidents. Maybe, we should die in a dignified way. At least, no controvercies.

Why I say it is because I have two male friends and they are 5ex freaks and at their sixties, they still use viagara or power drinks to enhance their sexual powers and they frequently seek the pleasures of sex providers.  Both of them are married and I think both have lose their lovely feelings for their wives.  They told me that they are worried that they will die during sex and this will caused embarassment to their family and they will be talk of the town , dying naked in the bed of a  prostitute. It will be a  OMG.

Does it matter what happen after we die and how people look at us ? Maybe we are important to a few people around us or we are world famous, people have short memories and sooner or later , we will be a by-gone. Think deeply does it matter? Instead of worrying how to die , it is better to learn how to live.

In the movie, Life of Pi, illusions come from nothingness. When we are in a blank, our mind will wonder and it will create illusions , a make belief of our world.  The story tells about a boy who was stuck in a boat with a Bengal Tiger out in the ocean. Was the tiger real or an illusion?  There will be many versions of our illusion.  In real life, there is a lot of deceits and cover ups but in illusion, it could be a beautiful world.  In life, there is no beginning, middle and the end unlike in movies, there is a plot and a structure. It is more meaningful.

How we begin or end , does not matter, how we live is more important.

Ang Lee -spirituality ( life of Pi : award winning Director)3

Q. How does the film explore spirituality?
A. "To me, faith can be elusive, but .. As a Taoist would say, 'That's the apple's truth.' The source of all the material comes from nothingness, illusion is working more on things you can prove. That's the principle, the essence of life, it is actually an illusion, not immaterial. That's worth pursuing. So illusion is not nothing. In a way, that is the truth."
"Sometimes I feel (illusions) are more of life's essence, I can trust them more than real life that is full of deceit and covering up."
Q. Did exploring faith encourage you to make this?
"The book is fascinating, it talks about faith. But it didn't make me believe in God or anything...I didn't go to church or a temple after that. When I started making the movie, you do feel faith embody you and carry you through. But when I picked the subject, and chose to do the book, it was actually more storytelling in my mind. The value of storytelling. How people share a story. Because a story has structure, it has a beginning, middle and end. It seems to have meaning, where life has not."
Q. Do you practice any religion?
A. "No, my mother is a baptized Christian, so she made me go to church every Sunday, and I prayed four times a day until I was 14. And at lunchtime kids at school would giggle at my praying...I stopped praying. And two weeks later, nothing happened to me, so I didn't pick it up again."
"I am not particularly religious. But I think we do face the question of where God is, why we are created and where does life go, why we exist. That sort of thing. And it is very hard to talk about it these days, because it cannot be proven. It is hard to discuss it rationally."
Q. Do you consider yourself spiritual?
A. "I hate to think life is just facts and laws. And I am a filmmaker, I am a sensitive person, I like to think it is spiritual, so I like people to be more in that way. I think life without spirit is in the dark, it is absurd. Call it illusion or call it faith, whatever you call it, we have emotional attachment to the unknown. We yearn to find out. That is human nature. It can be, in a way, unrequited love, we don't know. I don't have a particular God I pray to, except sometimes a movie god." (laughs)

Slow motion Yoga

My yoga session on last Thursday was a slow motion yoga. Previously, we have a blind yoga that is we closed our eyes to focus on the movement of our body and our muscles . What is slow motion yoga?

Nothing new.  Just slow down all the movements in your own slow pace.  Oh, it must  be easier. Hey, wrong , man! The slower the pace, the move strenuous. Yoqu can try to hold up your hands and slow lowering it down then you will feel that it needs more effort and pain to do it.

In the past, I have written about an event that I cannot forget for the rest of my life.  I was at a meditation center learning the art of meditation and I saw a Eurpean women practicing her walking mantra. She took 30 minutes to walk the full 10 feets. It was so amazing. She looks not moving but yet she is moving very slowly. You can imagine the concentration and control of her mind and body. It was an amazong feat and it come from a westerner. Ow....it blow my mind.

My slow motion yoga also test on my mind and body control. Just imagine if you are in a pumping position and you need to lower down your whole body by the count of 5 and gradually increasing it to a count of 10. The pressure of your body on your arms intensify many folds as the seconds passes by. It is your mind over body and most people will fall if their mind is not strong.

Just imagine we have to do the whole session at this slow pace. It was really a test of our mind over our body and most people would have failed if they don't have a strong mind. Our body is always resisting pain and we need to use our mind to control our body. If we focus on the pain, we will be defeated but if we focus on the movement and intensity of muscles , then we will be drawn away from the pain.

If we go against the traffic , we wil lbe crushed but if we go along with the traffic , we will just float along. Let your mind tell your body to relax and enjoy the stress and the pressure, then we can stand  longer in the pose.

So, happy wondering and try it sometimes... ok?

Hokkien Mee, Farlim Bandar Raya stall, Penang.

After Yoga this monring,  my wife suggested to have Hokkien Mee at the Farlim Bandar Raya stalls. The  owner is one of the three finalist in the current Hawkers' championshp. When we reached the stall, the owner have pasted up  today's star news with his photographs and commentary on his stall.

I did not read the news but my wife told me that the owner have single-handedly brought up his two children who is now studying medicine.  He quit his job as an enginering technician and have since been selling his Hokkein mee, Frog porridge and fish head bee- hoon at several place.

It was raining this morning and there was only a few souls eating his Hokkien Mee including my wife and me. A women was helping him to collect the money while he does the cooking. The place was quite messy because of the rain . If you like the food then there should not be any complaint.

There was a long rows of shops at place and only a few was open for trade.  We have a stall selling vegetarian food and desserts, a wantan mee stall, a fast food stall, a bread and egg shop,  a chicken rice shop and a coffee shop selling drinks and fruit juice.  In Farlim, you can still find wantan mee selling for RM2.30 a plate and  Jawa mee for RM2.00 per plate or packet.  I told this offer to my KL friends and they were shocked and speechless. Where on earth you can get food at these price?

Not too far away from this bandar raya stalls, there was a big strait mall where Giant hypermarket was the anchor tenant.  This is the Four Seasons Mall and it will be housing big names like Tong Pak Fu, James Foo, Starbuck, Coffee Bean, Chatiime, Guardian Pharmacy, Georgetown Pharmacy, Ikan Bakar, Sub-way and many , many more which is yet to start business.

With these eating outlets, Farlim will be a food heaven catering for the economic food to fast food and crusine, etc. Of course, this small town is housing about 100,000 people  wtih multi-level flats, apartments, shoplots, houses, pubs, etc. If you so some simple calculations, if four persons own one car, there will be 25,000 cars in the locality. So, if it rains, you can imagine the massive jams as there only only limit access and outlet from this township.  OMG.....

This situation have been my dilemma and it started off with pig and chicken farms many, many years ago. I am choked and suffocating while waiting for more greenery and outlets out of the township.

What the @#$$%%%%^,

The face reflects the heart

Once, I wrote an article on " Buddha mouth, Snake heart" and I told of people who talk like a Buddhist or like a Buddha but with an evil heart.  This type of people are hypocrites who pretend to help you but just to benefit themselves. Now, I am writting about how the face reflects the heart. But, this theory does not apply to all but you can sense them if you see their face.

Yesterday, I have an encounter with such people during a lunch at Sungei Puyu. There was this women who sat directly across me. Her hair was holded up by gel , floating high above the head and her neck was wearing a huge jade neck lace , her ears have diamond studded earings, her both wrist have more green jade  bracelets and her fingers were wearing a few jade  rings with diamond linings.  Her eye brows were thick and she has a very fiece bull dog shape face. Can you imaging how she look ?  Yeah, the famous Chinese Empress Dowager.  Those people who read the Chinese literature or history will know how she rule her Empire.  I believe when she die, she will be buried with all these ornaments like the Empress.  It will be a treasure hunt for those bounty hunters.

She happens to be an Auntie of my colleague. The distant relative type.  I was told by my colleague that she is a staunch Buddhist , those who chants day and night.  I have seen many staunch Buddhist and they have very pleasant and peaceful faces.  Once, you see them, you can trust and relate to them. However, I have known of a few staunch Buddhist, who have very fiece faces despite the years of prayer and actually, I know that they are very unkind and uncompassionate people.

If we have loving kindness and Great Compassion in our heart, these wonderful qualities should naturally flow up to the face. If you look at the face of Buddha and Kuan Yin , you can see the grace on their face. These Buddhas have actually practice what they preach or what they know and there is no blockage between their heart and their face. For those evil people with a fiece face, there is no kindness in their heart and however hard they try, it has not change them or remove the blockage and they have achieved nothing.

My theory is not always right.  At times, there are great saints in people who have a disfigured face or unpleasant face. But , these are the exceptions.  If we have a peaceful and kind heart, we should have a wonderful and ageless face. Ever smiling.

Namaste.

Image of Mother Mary

In the song by the Beatles " Let it be " , there was a verse which goes like this " Mother Mary come to me and she smile " and this was the image on the glass windown. It was not the stone which get me high but it is a dotted image.  Miracle have happen and this is another manifestation.

Many years ago, I had a class mate who was a very strong believer in " Sai Baba". One day , we met on the road after not seeing each other for years and he got down my address and told me that he will visit me one day.  So, we departed and a couple of days later, he drove to my house and pick me up and he wants to show me the manifestation of " Sai Baba".  At that time, Sai Baba was still alive and he was turning gold out of thin air and he has a very huge following in India.

He drove to a house not far from my house and asked me to follow him and I did just that.  He went into a house which I eagarly followed and in the living room there was a big potrait of Sai Baba and there was ashes coming out of the glass frame and the ashes gathers round his hair and face of his photograph.  It was an amazing phenomena. I looked around at other photographs but there was no ashes on them. My friend told me that there were many incidences of ashes appearing on the photograph of Sai Baba.

Now, Sai Baba have passed away  and I do not know whether the ashes keeps growing or not. Nevertheless, such phenomena cannot be explained so easily. There was also news about the statute oozing out milk or blood  and these incidents are passing miracles.

Why are people looking for miracles ?  Some people are seeking the truth , others are seeking fortunes and others are trying to get blessing to their prayers. Everyone have a motive and this motive is something personal.  Whatever it will be ....maybe one day, instead of ashes , gold will appeared on the portrait of Sai Baba and it will resolve the Genneva gold problem.  Hopefully.

It is very difficult to say sorry - insight

By saying sorry,  it is like admitting a mistake and it will lower our creditability or give us shame.  This is the usual re-action from a lot of unwise people.  We are always perfect and saying sorry makes us look bad in front of others.  We lose our face and our ego and most of all our self esteem.

Today, I have an unusual encounter and this comes from my Japanese colleague who openly say " sorry, I apologize from my mistake ". It caught me in surprise.  This Japanese colleague have been very bossy and hard headed and to see him apologize so humbly to me for his mistake , really open up my eyes.  Yes, why is it so difficult to say " I am sorry". It only make up of three simple words.

We can speak a thousand words but to say these three little words could carry tons of energy or weight  and some of us die by without saying these words.  There are many such people who could admit no wrong. It is so funny but if you look at it, it is only plain ego.

Yesterday, I attended a meeting and my boss asked me to explain some legal scope of a subject and I make a very simple explanation to a group of key managers and my boss stopped me and correct me.  I felt nothing and I was not angry at all. He knows the subject better than me and he puts in a correction and so what is the big deal ?  Some people would have felt embarrass  and shameful but I am not perfect and I am not a master of all.  I felt I could say sorry to him in front of so many people but I kept quiet instead .  I should gone a bit further by apologizing and say I am sorry because I have came unprepared.

I know a young girl who told me that she spoke to her mum about her feelings and instead the mum scolded her for telling out her true feelings.  The girl was hurt and she cried and cried and cried.  I don't know why she cried ? I asked why she cried ?  She told me that she was hurt but if someone disagree with our view or our thinking and they scold us , why do we cried ? It is very normal to disagree or agree to disagree.  Is it that we cry because we are hurt  or pride have been torn apart or our love have been rejected ?  Don't you think there is a lot of ego in the crying ? Take away the ego, then you will remained calm in the face of anger.

Most of the time, we think about ourself , our pride and our ego and this is the weakness that we should be aware which could create havoc in our life. We will never grow and I would like to say that past mistakes is to guide us and not to define us.  We have break through and  realize this precepts.

Namaste.
