Normally, roses are red, violets are blue. During Valentine Day, not all the flowers should be roses and different flowers carry different meaning. If you are not aware of the implication, please ask your florist. Don't use your own imagination because there is a norm and it is embrassing if you sent the wrong message. In Japan, the customs is to give different kind of gifts. Some people give underwears, white chocolates , handerchief , flowers, etc to sent their indiviual message to their peers , boss and friends.
Valentine Day is a creation of the big business people and their intention is to make profits and in some advance countries, it has been over commercialized. This special day carries the similarity with Christmas and it is wrong to understand this way. It has no religious bearings but a way or an occasion to express your love and care for another person. It is a cross culture and border less as love goes , Rosemary goes....a true love has no hidden agenda and limits. Open your heart and feel the love in the air... does GOD come into the picture ? No. Love is just love. Spread your wings and fly into the horizons with love in your heart as out there, there is someone waiting for your love and care.
So, much for the talks and this is the guidelines for the valentine colors :
Valentine roses:
- Red means romantic love (the "Valentine roses," par excellence).
