Came back yesterday after a 4 days trip from Phuket feeling fresh yet physically tired. This was the first time away during Chinese New Year since birth. How could I do it? Breaking away from our
traditional roots and conservative mindsets. The reunion of family members is the most important before the coming of each new year. Awesome, Isn't it?
My family and a few of my brother-in-laws were at JW Marriott Hotel in Phuket and it was an awesome hotel and resort. It was a near paradise setting with great rooms and hotel facilities. It was a wonderful experience.
During the trip, we venture out of the hotel for local Thai dishes ,night markets, a dinner and a walk around at the famous Patung beach. Honestly speaking, the food was awesome but for shopping ,it was only average. Everything was pricey except at the night market. It was like a huge Pasar malam in Penang. Lots of imitation and fake goods. There were so many choices.
My preference would be the stay at the hotel and a walk around the resort and joining their the yoga and Pilate classes in the morning. It refreshes the mind and soul before the start of a hectic day in a distant land.
If we are traveling in a group ,there are ocassions of disagreements but it is our choice to look away and keep a calm and pleasant mind to enjoy our trip. Some people could show their displeasure or utter some stupid remarks to spice up the atmosphere but it is always our choice to re-act to these ocassions. This was part of the learning experience on a trip.
The trip was a good experience and a wonderful moment we have created for ourselves. Otherwise , it would be another usual to be CNY ocassions .
Namaste
