A paradigm shift - complete change

Paradigm shift

A week ago, I had a lunch with a very old friend and we know each other during our  college days. He was doing very well in an American MNC and he resigned suddenly. Later, I heard he have embraced Buddhism and he was ferrying the monks around doing their dharma. He is also working as a sourcing agent for a direct selling organization.

During the lunch  he told me that he knows the son of Ananda Krishnan who is a billionaire. He told me Ananda's son embraced Buddhism and  became a monk after he saw something through his vision and his life changed drastically . He gave away his Ferrari , his bungalow and all his riches to live the noble life of a monk. That vision open up his third eye and shifted his paradigm. We might have moments of such vision but we could not hold on to it long enough to realize what it suppose to tell us.

If we see through life like what the Buddha did and we would gain our enlightenment like Buddha. Many people have embraced Buddhism to seek enlightenment  but in vain while some have achieved greatness in their own ways.

In the past, there  were many people who have Buddhahood and they showed great wisdom and teachings to the layman or monks.

For some meditators who go deep into their meditations, they could enjoy moments of enlightenment .theae moments are very rare and in these moments, we can see the world within us and we experienced eternal happiness and a complete understanding of life.

It is not something you can forced to understand but through a constant study and training before you can get a glimpse of what it is all about.

A paradigm shift is like you look forward you see a view, you step to your left, you see another view, if you moved right you have another view. Very slight move you will change with it. Can you see every view where you are standing at thus same time ? There is a moment of truth where you can see all in one and that is the opening of the third eye which a complete change in your way if thinking like breaking out of a box. What cannot be done ,suddenly it can be done and cause a paradigm shift in our thinking.

Another normal Sunday

Another Sunday morning

I have just dropped off my daughter and my niece at the Langkawi ferry port as they are going to Langkawi for their holidays. Today was my third day of rest after coming back from Bangladesh.

My body was recovering from my short and hectic trip to Bangladesh and KK. It has been three days of resting and sleeping and the rest of the time watching video or TV. The body was telling me to rest and have a complete shutdown.
It was like the normal rest days  on the weekend.

Time just flies as I lay down and rest. As usual ,time waits for no one. It is not a matter of what is right or wrong but the choice I have make . The reason is also because my wife is having a cough and a flu.

I did some shopping in the morning and laze around in the house and played with my dogs for a little while.
And that is my Sunday.

For Next week, it  will be a hectic week again , full of meetings and follow ups for me and back to my normal yoga sessions in the evening.
Have to get my body and mind fully rested to meet the coming changes.

The Alvivi fiasco

The Alvivi thing

As I have written before that this couple was trying to sell themselves to the world trying to get frame and become infamous.
If you want to get yourself known, you have to the extraordinary things and that is what is happening. Instantly famous or infamous.

Come to think about it , both are graduates and they wanted to test the system again and again。Are they stupid ? I din't think so but they cannot control the outcome.

Now they got what they want by showing their everything to the world and got jailed in return. Where is their future? They could sell their story to the world or make a film about their life and experience. Is it worth it ?

Which angle are you looking from? They may have done or got what they set up to do ie to test the system whether it is fair or not . This point is rather obvious if you have been following the news.

There is a saying " the end will justify the means" but the end could not be controlled properly and it could be disastrous.

Anyway, there is a purpose in every life and it is a choice you choose to live it.

Dinner at Sushi Bento at Precinct 10, Penang

Dinner at sushi bento, precinct 10. Penang

Tonight, I had dinner with my family including my BIL with his two children, total six pack at Sushi bento. Originally, we wanted to be at Endo Ichii but it was full house so we switch to Sushi Bento.

We started by ordering one small portion of sushi and followed  various types of maki,  fried rice,  sushi rice, sukiyaki, Grayfish, oysters  with baked cheese and Salads and ended with green tea ice cream. The food was abit too much  it yet was finished by the hungry youngsters.

Yeah. I forgot the tempura and two pork rice and it turns out to be RM470 on the bill. Luckily, we had a discount card for 10% and helps to mitigate the cost. As a warning, the Grayfish was not on the menu and it cost RM50 for the fish which is sufficient for only one person.

The food and taste was okay and if compared to Endo Ichii , the latter was better. My wife was complaining about the  price of the Grayfish which was not  value for money. But, so what ? It was the occasion which is important . The gathering was almost two months after my niece came back from Scotland for her summer holidays and for my daughter who had just completed her exam and going on a month's holiday.

Family gathering is important and it is worth every cents we spend to keep the good relationship.

The ultimate awareness in you.

Ultimate awareness in Meditation

My yoga teacher have reminded a few times during my six years of training under her。But. each time she asked us, we could not get the right answer. It is so easy and it is just awareness and yet we cannot remember and answer her precisely

Recently , I read a book on meditation and it comprises of four steps and 16 parts ie four parts in one step. And the last part is the easiest of all the parts and it is just awareness. The permanent sense of awareness and rejections.

One of the awareness is impermanence. Our life is not forever static. We will keep growing old for whatever we do and we will finally die. So, all the process in our life is going constant changes and we have accept the changes.

Next is the awareness of non self. Everything that happens our life will go away and there is nothing to attach to it. The image in the mirror is only a reflection and not a thing for us to attach. Our origin is nothing and how can we be attached to the dust and sufferings in life. There is no self and it is nothingness.
Just be aware of the happening and do not re-act to it and just let it go. Another word for self is ego.

The final awareness is enough is enough. Our mind is. constantly tormented by thoughts , desire and attachments. We have be aware of our mind's weakness and we should tell our mind enough is enough on each matter and boot it our of our mind each time the thought appears until the thoughts go away forever.

It is not easy to attain such awareness and each person's ability for such realization is also different。
For some people it comes naturally and for many they can never achieve this sense of awareness. Just watch your awareness and feel it grow in you and become a permanent part of you.

Dance with the Devil..

Dance with Devil

I believe everyone is born good  and it is through their journey in life ,they change according to their upbringing, experience, teaching , books , media and influence among the people surrounding them. They will have the good and the bad sides and they will go through life struggling between  both sides in handling the matters facing them whether in society or within themselves. This is the reality in life.

The bad side will support the growth of their own ego while the good side will try to reduce it. An ego is like an internal demon ,working on our emotions  and  controlling our re-actions and actions. In a serious case, they kill and hurt others to achieve what they want.

For some people during their journey through life come to realize that this bad side of him or her has become to pre-dominant and is eating themselves up then take actions to control it or to reduce it.  This is called the awakening of his or her awareness.

There is always  a solution and it remained a choice for the person whether they want to change or not. The treatment could be like a cold turkey treatment for drug abuse cases. But, if they leave their bad side  growing , it will become uncontrollable and it is like letting the mental monkeys jumping all over them and doing or saying things not what they want to say or do.

One of the tools of this inner demon is gossip and caused others to dance to their tune and manipulate the outcome and re-action of the people around them and hurting other people"s life  as a serving to fulfill their ego and re-enforce their inner demon and to serve their own master, the devil in them.

To illustrate this point, Buddha's teaching is "when you turn back , there is a shore ". It means that do drift towards the sea, it will drown you and turn back there is a firm ground for you to return to your goodness which you were born with. Look deep Into our life and we will see with our inner eyes and realization will arise. Build on that realization and the picture in your mind will get clearer and you will realize that it is within you to change for the better. It is your choice to change and  remove the Devil from you. Just train and work on your mind and it will change everything in your life.

My first trip to KK, sabah

I am in KK since yesterday. My first time to this place and was surprised to see so much developments  in the town area. The  buildings were build at reasonable heights and it was quite standard.

Coming in Air Asia flight , I could see lots of water along the runway just like in Bangladesh but the whole area near the airport was much better developed.

I was here on business at the Sutera harbor and the area have two separate hotels ie at the mallegan and Pacific. I have to travel to both locations for the different events. The hotels are beautiful with big swimming pools by the
Sea and there was a lot of ya cht  parked along the marina.

My experience is that the. It's of living is quite high as a bowl of noodles at the hotel cost RM20 per plate. Even the cab driver  complain of high living cost.

For the seafood , it was quite good and the steamed fish was tasty and fresh. Sabah is famous for its seafood and there were a lot of tourist from China and Japan. So far, I have not got the chance to travel around which I hope to do so tomorrow. I will tell you more after my exploration.

The end of a fairy tale

My daughter M told me that she has ended her relationship with her BF.  She told me that she still love him and wish to keep his reputation in front of our family and her friends and would not like to discuss this matter anymore. She ended the relationship because she know that she will not be happy because of their differences.

For M, she likes to eat the best things in life and enjoy mixing with people and she is very careless with her money while her BF is very thifty and very careful with her money.  I could see this difference from the start and they have been much quarreling over this matter. This great difference their life's outlook and character will only make them an unhappy couple.

I did not question any further as I did not have much detail of their disagreements and M have been telling me that I only look at his superficial self .  I know this young guy and he is not a bad person but he is abit quiet and when come to studies , he is abit weak. Hardworking no doubt.

When M make this decision, it must have been very painful as she has been very protective of him frorm the beginning .  Standing up to defend him when someone talk bad about him or bully him.  My M was a much stronger then him in this area. I also wonder how he can protect my daughter in the future if M gets into trouble.

I have to respect M's decision because this is her life and she should make the decision herself . I am afraid that she could be hurt again as she is very trusting and protective of her love. She can blindly protect and support his love.  This is her weakness and she can be very passionate.

This is a lesson she should go through before she choose a life partner and this lesson will open up her eyes and to look for a partner that is in harmony with her character.  She is a very private person and she keep all the problems in her heart and this is something I worry very much.  I need to find a way to gain her trust and to help her in anyway possible.

There is not such thing as no pain or hurt when we break up a relationship.  She has hinted that she have to be brave. Brave to handle her life by herself and do things her way.  I am happy for her that she is smart and strong to make this decision instead of suffering in silence to avoid gossip or long explanations to the family members.

From young, I know she has a strong character and she is a fighter and I wish her good luck.

Is there a perfect relationship?

Just woke up and it is only 3.00 am in the morning. Feel like writing a message from my heart.  It is a strange subject and dry one if you have been through life. Is there a perfect relationship? If you tell me that you have a perfect relationship with someone then you are certainly non human and maybe you are now at the loving stage and is blinded  by love.

We cannot find a perfect partner but rather an understanding partner in life  which have the same interest  and a deep sense of tolerance and wisdom. If you are looking for a  life long perfect mate then you are in for a disappointment.

For people who are young , they are young and  ideal and they wish to seek a perfect partner and they believed in perfection and their power to love. They are the exceptions.

They will learn in the process of life and they enjoy magic of love at the beginning and they learned to accept the difference in each other and  they forced themselves to have a strong sense mutual respect and deep understanding of their difference and learn how to enjoy living in this situation. They changed themselves to be different and to living happily. If they failed to change and accept ,they will live in separate lives and in an unhappy situation until a breaking point when they break up or die in a  mistery.

People can disagree to agree or agree to disagree and the depth of this wisdom varies from person to person and it is binded by chemistry and the longing for acceptance.

There is no such thing as right or wrong and it matters only whether you accept it or not and it is a choice. If you are adamant that you are right and refused to see and accept difference then there will be a deep strain in your life and your relationship.

We read, hear and told of many incredible love stories and we are set in life to believe and look for a perfect love , wanting that to happen in our lives. When two person want to start a relationship, there are so many  variables. Human being is an unpredictable creature and  very selfish in nature. With these characteristics, the combination of two sets of variables , there is a much need to find common grounds to sustain and a strong attitude to accept and to see things in your partner"s way.

In other words, you live for each other and putting the interest of your partner to be above self. Can you do it? It is not perfection but a deep sacrifice for the relationship to hold. The pain of your sacrifice varies according again to your needs and wisdom in life.

A relationship is like a ship in a high sea, going through many storms and waves and whether it can come through in one piece , it depend on the strength of the ship and the people stirring it.

Meat day battle - from my experience

Dinner at Berlin, Lunch at Morgan field..

For these two days , the meals have been a bit hectic and meaty. Last nite. I have German knuckles and today I have british baby ribs down with beers.

Comparing the two joints , I think the German knuckles and beer is better. The price is almost the same but taste is better in Berlin.

At Berlin, we have knuckles, spaghetti  sausage , Salad and  draft beer and at Morgan's, we had  baby ribs. Burger, salad. Corn and beer.  The portion is just as big and At Berlin is.value for money.

For the battle of meat meal. Berlin have won with their hands down and it is value for money.

No man is an island - ext

TO the question: What can we do to reduce, if not eradicate, the feeling of exclusiveness? in "The dangers of exclusiveness" (This N That, July 8), I would like to quote these words of wisdom, written more than 500 years ago:

"No man is an island, entire of itself ... any man's death diminishes me, because I'm involved in mankind, and therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls, it tolls for thee." – John Donne (1572 - 1631)

My unlucky day - today

My  unlucky day - today

I started the day well. I went for yoga in the morning and had a good breakfast and met my friends for lunch with my wife。it was a simple and good lunch.

After that , we proceed to Komtar for our hair cut. The car park was full so I leave my wife at the doorstep of 1st Avenue and I went around to find a car park . I circled 1st avenue for three times before I could find a parking slot. I took the parking ticket and went around to look for my wife.

I walk from 1st Avenue to Prangin Mall and to Komtar .when  I came out of Prangin Mall, I landed in Pacific supermarket in Komtar and as I was passing I saw 70% discount in Pacific and I proceed to buy a short pant. After paying ,I proceed to look for my wife at her auntie's saloon.

After the hair cut, I proceed to Cotton-on to buy another short pant  and we proceed into Espirit next door. I was thirsty and procced to Starbucks to buy a green tea latte. I sat on a table and took my time to enjoy the green tea。My wife joined me and we proceed to the car park. Here the trouble starts.  .

I could not find my parking ticket and was desperate. My wife was edgy and I try to find my ticket. It was lost..I give up after searching for sometimes. I went around asking anyone how to get out of the mall. I was direct to proceed to the ground floor and I was directed to go to first floor and information clerk told me to proceed to fifth floor   After reaching 5th floor I was lost and have to search for the car park ticketing office.  There I was told to pay RM50 for the penalty.
What can I do ? Just pay lor.

After feeling the mall ,I was quite upset with myself. I proceed to a shell station to refill my petrol tank. I inserted the nozzle into the opening of the petrol tank and stand there watching.  Suddenly, the petrol was oozing out from my tank so I immediately stopped the pump but a lot of petrol have already spilled out。

I was wet with petrol and after that I drove home. I changed my car and proceed for dinner. Everything was smooth.

After reaching home , I started to watch Tv which was showing the Astro singing competition. Until the finals , it was okay but during the announcement of the winner , heavy rain fell and cut off the transmission. So, I gave up and went to bed.

These co-incidences have happen before and can happen again. Life is a mysterious journey.it is full of fun, challenges and heartache.

Another weekend - haiyoo

I am waiting for my wife to finish her work and we will head home. Yes, this is Friday and we will have two days of rest before another hectic week. Time is zooming too fast and before we realized it , it will Sunday night. Really scary, time is slipping from our hands even if we try to grip it. Maybe at my age, time have become very important. I have a colleague who tells me that she is happy and would be happier if she has the financial freedom. Yeah, at her age, this is true as she is still struggling to accumulate her wealth. When I was young, I do not care about money. I have ample food to eat and I was running freely and do whatever I want. Time was all I have and I really enjoyed my childhood life. There was no restrictions and there is no need to hurry. I was having my financial freedom. When I go through college and start earning a living, I was rushing through life and struggling to live within my budget. I compared myself with others and wanted what others is having. People called it " follow the jones". It was the establishment's rule and we start to entered into a rat race. After getting married, we work even harder and try to be accumulate wealth to retire early. We make some mistakes on the way and our savings were slashed. Then, we try to re-coup by working harder. We work, work and work as time slip away. We never realized it or even we realized it, we did not place much importance on it. Now, after working so hard and I lift me head, a long time have passed. What else can we do and if we just sit around, time will not be still. It stops for no one. The journey have to carry on and the show must go on. We have to be contented with what we have achieved or what we have done whether correclty or wrongly. There is no time to judge but only time to mitigate our wrong actions. Namaste.

Dozed off - an experience

Last night, I attended my yoga session and after a hectic schedule,we have to round it up by a relaxing pose for 5 minutes. It is called the dead man pose with the legs wide spread and our two hands by the sides and the heart sink and relax the whole body. I dozed off during the pose. My wife told me that it was very embarassing as I snored very loudly. I just could not control my actions as my eyes just closed by itself and I went into auto pilot. There are a few times in the past that such completely shut off have occurred. This is very dangerous if we are driving or doing some active and dangerous actions. Luckily, it only occurs at the dead man's pose. Such automatic shut off actions is only when the mind and the body is very tired and run out of control. The force of our eyes shutting down is very forceful and strong. It cannot be avoidable. So when my wife told me that it was embarassing, I told her that I cannot help it. Why do she thinks that I would like to embarass myself. At one time, I was driving back from Kuala Lumpur and during the trip back, I closed my eyes for a second and my car almost sway into the path of another car. It only happens in a split second. What can we help when we encounter this situation ? Stop driving and part at road side and close your eyes for a few moment. This counter action should help very much. Don't try to fight and win over your tired eyes, it will never listen to you and this action will help a lot of people to avoid trouble. If we travel long distance, it is better to have adequate sleep before the trip or bring a long a reserve driver to take turns to avoid such situation. This happening show a tired body and mind which disrupt the reflects of a person. It dulls the mind and shut down the senses. Don't fight yourself , accept that this is a sickness and happen the matter serously. Namaste.

Listen to our body- an insight (ext)

ZOE Saldana (pix) is listening to her ageing body. The 35-year-old star has begun to feel the strain of age on her body and is adapting her lifestyle to suit, claiming her body makes different requests to what it used to when she was younger. Talking about how she manages to stay in shape, she said: "It's changing as I get older. When you're younger it feels like you're unbreakable. "You can eat anything, you can jump from any place, you can fall over and be jerked and bounced around and the next morning you wake up and your body's, like: 'Hey, what's next?' "But as I'm ageing - which I'm doing happily - I'm finding that my body is starting to make different requests, which is want I want to listen to and respect." The 'Star Trek' actress joked she can't handle late night partying any more and has to head home early to recuperate. She told Britain's HELLO! magazine: "If I was partying till 4.30am when I was 22, that would be fine, but now I'm 35, my body is like, 'Give me a break!' "It breaks my heart when I see people who don't take care of themselves because they are running the risk of not being there."

Missed my flight home today

Missed my flight home Today, I attended a meeting in Kl and the meeting dragged on until 2pm and my flight was at 3.50pm. Only one hour and fifty minutes to reach the airport. It would be a rush. I left the meeting to grap a bit and rushed to KLIA . I took a taxi to the MRT station , it took 10 minutes and I walk to buy a ticket and rush to the MRT platform and I have to wait for 15 minutes to take the MRT. By now, it is already 2.35pm . The MRT took 15 minutes to KLIA Sentral and by now , it was 2.50pm. At Sentral. I have to rushed to buy a ticket and go to the platform and waited for 15 minutes for the expressed train and by now , it is 3.20pm.  It was a 50:50 chance to catch the flight at 3.50pm. The expressed train reached KLIA at 3.50pm and the chance was for it to delay. However, our luck went out. The plane have left for Penang. I have buy another ticket. It cost me RM185 ie RM100 for penalty and RM85 for the difference in the fare. I was tkd to bring the receipt to the auto ticket dispenser machines but it was not working and I was directed to a standby counter. I was told to wait for my name to be called out. So I found a seat to wait and waited for my name. After 20 minutes, I checked with the counter and was told to wit for my ticket. I did not bother to complain as I know the inefficiency of the ticket counters. No need to wake the lazy dogs. Finally, I got my tickets and waited for my fight home. What the heck?? Namaste

Work stress -- a study

Here's another reason to learn those office mantras and take out that stress ball from your drawer. A study by researchers at the University College London reported that people with high job stress over a long period of time have double the risk of developing the dreaded metabolic syndrome, a health condition linked to diabetes, obesity and deranged blood cholesterol levels. They further suggest that this link may help explain the relationship between stressors of everyday life and heart disease. The study on 10,308 participants aged 35 to 55 defined work stress as being in the lowest third of work social support, and having high job demands and low job control. Compared with those who never reported work stress, those who reported work stress three or more times over a 14-year study period had double the risk of metabolic syndrome. Furthermore, the researchers noticed that the risk increased as the stress level increased. The mechanism underlying the relation-ship between work stress and metabolic syndrome remains unknown, but it may have something to do with the biochemical "fight-or-flight" responses of your body to stress.

What is truth or lies?

What is truth or lies ? When we tell a story a thousand times , what is said will be the truth. That is what happen to folklores. Now I used to look at the moon to see whether is there a fairy or not. Since young I was told that there is a beautiful fairy living there waiting to be reunited with her lover. My mum used to tell me that we should not point our fingers at half moon , otherwise my ears will be cut off by the moon. All these folklores were proven wrong when the Americans landed on the moon. There goes all our beliefs. Nowadays there are so much lies in the cyberspace and it has become so scary. When we read the news on the. Net we do not know whether is the truth or not. The latest story about a  Ex-Indonesian VP saying that DS Anwar have  broken his promise on the GE13 with Our PM Najib  was written extensively in the news media and on the net and it was denied by Ex-VP that he had said these things. How can such extensive lies can be created without a blink of an eye.  These evil ghost writers which are paid to spread lies. Another accusation is DS Anwar have RM300 slashed away in 22 accounts  by a current MP in the parliament. Such stories have been repeatedly said and repeated until lies become the truth. This stupid MP should reign and seal his lips forever.   I am not a big fan of DS Anwar but I think these pro-UMNO bloggers or supporters have over killed him and make us have a deep sense of pity on him. Wah he has advocated is meritocracy and his beliefs and it maybe a different opinion but when we debate we should concentrate on his ideals and philosophy and not to have personal attacks on his personality.  We should try to engaged and persuade and not to discredit the person and kill his ideals by spreading lies. We have to agree to disagree. What is wrong with Malaysia? It has become an unbelievable country. A country full of lies and half truth. We have to stop the rot ,otherwise it will hit the core and there is no chance to recover from this sickness. Tell the truth and let the Rakyat decide in the GE13 and concentrate to mange the country well. Namaste

The fresh morning air.

The fresh morning air

Today is Saturday . I had a very good night of sleep. Usually, i am still still sleeping at this time on working days.
I had a good Japanese dinner with my wife and friends last night.  My daughter M was not free as she had a college  outing.

Yes. The air was fresh as I lie in bed writing this feeling. Most of the time , i am rushing through my life . Either working or tired out flat on my bed. It is really a rare occasion having the leisure time to smell the fresh air. The feeling is like resting after a marathon. It is the same feeling after every heavy week of work.

Years will just pass if we rush through life. Just like driving  our car  very fast and when we look outside our car windows ,the scene out there is blur and unattractive. Our mind's focus is on our next activity instead of the present. If we slow down our car, the scene outside will be more clearer and attractive。We can see more details and be aware of the irony in life. If we gets deeper insight, we realized life is a big joke.
So much twisted and turn , ups and downs , yet the end is the same. Impermanence.

What is out purpose in life? Winning a rat race ? Getting rich and famous ? It is the fresh morning air.fresh and full of zest. Starting of a race through the marathon of life. When we gets nearer to the end of the day, we will realize  the staleness of the whole process. However, it depends on what we do in the day. If we have enjoyed the process, we will still be fresh as if we still have the morning air with us.

Let us ponder moment and dwell deep inside us to decide how we should  to spend today . Rushing through or slow down the scenes and enjoy the moments  before our time is over. It is our choice whether to end our day with freshness of the morning air still  inside us.

Life on a fast lane....

Every morning, I took the fast lane to work.  Do you know which is the fast lane ?  A lot of people is confused over this lane. It is the lane on our right hand side. The middle lane is the moderate lane and the slow lane is the far left lane. Many a times, people us the right lane as the slow lane  and some people use the left lane as the fast lane.  This concept is totally wrong. We can only cut from the right hand and if left lane become the fast lane, then we have cut from the left.  That is where accidents happens.

On Wednesday, it was a gloomy day and it was drizzling.  After getting out from my house,  I switch on the front line because it was dark.  I started slowly and kept to the left  and I gradually start to move to the right , which is the fast lane.   Suddenly, one car started to honk me.  I look behind and I could not see the car clearly as the car was painted black , the weather was gloomy and the driver did not switch on his front light.  The driver cut from the left  and drew parallel to me and wind down his car's window and shouted at me and I also wind down my window and asked him what is he shouting about ?  Suddenly, he drove his car into my lane and step on the brake and I just slow down my car to avoid hitting him and he just drove off after protesting in that stupid manner.

I know when we are irritated or angry , we say silly things and acted stupidly.  This drivers action reflects exactly that.  I told myself not to be upset by his action and he might have forgotten the incident and I am still holding on to its memory. It was a stupid thing to do.

As usual, I kept to the right lane and proceed to work and when I hit the Penang bridge,  there were a lot of slow drivers packing the right lane and I have to shift between lanes  and overtake on the left lane to make sure I reached office in time. It was a nasty things to do as it could post danger to the other drivers.  What can we do when there is a heavy traffic on the road ? Either we have to do all the wrong things or to be late for work.  It is a dilemma in our daily life.

Life is full of choices , we can choose to follow the rules or break the rules , it is up to us. But, at the end of the day, we should not harm or hurt others.  They also have their choice and have their life.

Namaste.

Blood pressure - the correct level : study

Doctors will tell you to keep your blood pressure low by exercising, taking your medications regularly, and having regular pressure checks.

However, if you have a condition called heart failure, you should be careful not to go overboard with blood pressure lowering, as a report in the American Heart Journal states that lower blood pressures appear to raise the risk of death in patients with heart failure.

The report, based on data from 5,747 patients with moderate heart failure, showed that those with a systolic blood pressure (the top blood pressure reading) of lower than 100 mm Hg had a higher mortality rate than those with pressures between 130 and 139. And it gets more complicated: mortality fell as blood pressure rose from 100 mm Hg, but then increased slightly at 120 to 129, before falling again at 130.

In contrast, low diastolic blood pressure (the bottom blood pressure reading) was also linked to increased mortality, but in this case, mortality consistently fell from below 60 mm Hg to above 89 mm Hg, which conferred the lowest risk.

Hence, while blood pressure targets for the general population remain the same, those with heart failure may require more meticulous blood pressure monitoring from their health care provider.

I woke up in the middle of the night.....

I could not sleep well last night and I was already up by 4.20am.  Correctly, it was early morning instead of middle of the night.  How shall we describe it ?  Middle of the night is like 9pm so how shall we describe it .  Not important now , if you can understand my meaning but the fact is that I am deprived off my sleep.

Enough sleep is very important and it help us in our focus.  I have drank 3 cups of coffee to stay awake and yet ,  I am afraid that I could not sleep tonight. Too much caffine will keep me awake.  To some people, it has no impact at all. They can sleep anytime and anywhere even when they are standing. For my wife, she can fell asleep  while reading a book. If I took away the book, her hands is still in the same position as holding the book.  It is quite funny and I always laugh in silence.

Lately, I am in the habit of sleeping before 11 pm and getting up around 7am with one or two interruptions to go to the toilet. Of course, sometimes, with no interruptions. I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with me. The nights after the yoga sessions ie 4 times a week makes me sleep better. I am quite aware of this pattern and deep inside , I have recognize it as one of the benefits of practicing yoga.

At one point of time, our Ex-PM Mahatir said that he do not know why people want to stand on their heads instead of on their feet?  Our learned Mahatir may not be aware that this is a way to de-stress and lets the body calm down and gradually , we can fell asleep easily.  Dr Mahatir still lives in his own time and domain and never have the chance to practice yoga.

Anyway, we need 8 hours of good sleep to replenish or rejuvenate ourself and remained focus in our work.  Any short of sleep will make us edgy and non responsive. We will be slow in our actions because the body cannot connect with the mind or vice versa.  The health or well being of the body-mind connection can be achieved through several means like meditation, yoga, qigong, Taichi and many other means.

The haze has gone...

The haze has gone ...

Happy days are here again as the sky clear because of the strong wind and rain. The heat was unbearable during the hazy days and the Governments were at each others throat.  Now it has calm down and we can see clearly now when the haze is gone.

Hazy days is like our problem days when we cannot find a solution. The trouble seems to get bigger every moment and wild thoughts raced across our mind kicking dust and dirts making the problem seems bigger.

Like I say before some problem can be solved  by time and some by evolutions and some can be solved internally within one's self.

People have short memory and when we are in trouble, we forgot that the problem can be solved in some way or another. Worrying make the problem bigger and seem more serious. If only we can control our thoughts and be aware that the problem have occurred before and how it was resolved. It is the power of the mind.

Last night, I woke up in the middle of the night struggling with my thoughts. The mind was fresh as monkey mind start to jump around. It dance around for an hour before I fell asleep again. In the morning, the problem have became smaller as if the haze is cleared. Yes, I should be aware that  worrying over a problem only weaken us and make our time unproductive.

The haze will come and go again. It is a matter of time and like this process. The problem will come and go and there will a solution whether we want it or not.
