Tooth inplant - my experience

Don't laugh at me okay ? It is a normal aging process and it is about time, I have to do something to my teeth to ensure that  I keep enjoying my life and living happily into my twilight years.  All of us will have to do something like this during certain period of our life.

I was recommend to see  a dentist to check on my tooth and he gave me a few options ie pull out my bad tooths and fix a bridge or a denture so that I can keep eating or suffer in pain and continued to eat unhealthy or remained toothless and change my eating habit.  The final option was to carry out an inplant and continue to live my life unchanged.

So, I decided to seek the advise of a qualified dentist . I was told that there are two grades of dentist  ie one who can carry out only extraction  and tooth maintenance or a specialist who can operate and carry out an inplant.  For a normal dentist , they have to study for six years and for a specialist , they will need to spend another four years to get their accredition.  So, for a dentist to be a specialist, they will need to study ten years. Ow! , this needs a long period to qualify.

This Specialist told me that it is not easy to carry out an inplant. First,  I have to take an X-ray to check my bone structure and it is okay, they will need to discuss the function of the inplant with us and whether we need more or less  inplants. On top of this, she told me that what brand do we need . China, Korea, Japanese, USA or Swedish ?  The price of the inplant will vary and of course, the most expensive is the Swedish one.

In my bone structure is not okay, they will need to plant bones into my gum section and to strengthen the bone until the bone becomes more strong and firm. This will take a few months and it is a painful wait.
She told me that there will be alot of planning and follow up treatments.

But, the most important of all , is the price of the inplant , it varies from RM5K to RM8K per inplant and this is really the killing point as not everybody can affort such pricing.  If we inplant 6 tooths and have six bridge , it will cost about RM56K . This means putting an MyVi into our mouth.  It is terrible thinking about it.

Why has it to be so expensive ?  I think it is because of the 10 years qualifying experience , the expensive titanium tooth and the time spend on the after inplant service.  I read a case that inplanst are making the dentist rich and this profession is very much sort after.

As for me, I dread looking into the mouth of another person and I thinking I will be having serious nightmares and vomitting sessions.   My life will become miserable thinking about digging out the tars and dirty deposits and looking at the decaying tooths.

Yes, I would like to live a life away from looking into the "black hole of calcutta"... I don't remember the story anymore.

Deporting within your own country - a nonsense idea.

I think Nurul's deportation from Sabah is utterly nonsense and this was not the only time and it has happen many times before. By doing these silly acts, it is really an insult to our intelligence again.  How can we be deported within our countries unless we are a gangster or a criminal which is restricted in the area for parole or for serving a sentence for a serious offends. How can Politicians be dangerous ? And there should be freedom of movement and expression in a true democracy.

The PM's talk about National Reconciliation and is he walking the talk ?  Everything is happening is tearing the nation apart including deportation within your own country.

Why is it happening ?  I think it is to secure their fort and to make sure that the people in that state remains ignorant and silly.  As I have mentioned before, the old ancient emperors practice these method to keep the people contented and to avoid rebellions.

In ancient China, Shih Huang Ti carry out a massive buying of books to discourage people from reading which could stir their thinking and also have a vast knowledge of what is happening in the country.  By banning and burning books, they can stop the spread of knowledge and communication between the people.  This is an evil act but these keeps the dynasty from surviving for a few generations.

This method can be an effective tools but in this internet world, it is an impossible task and now, the so call " silly lawyers" is talking about how to control the access to internet or the control of websites. I appeal to these "nincompoops" to stop these futile actions and stop insulting the people's intelligence. The internet is getting too powerful for any Government or any " tiny" people and this could provoke a backlash and sweep them into oblivion.

By deporting or stopping people from travelling and commicating is just like burning or banning the access to books.  If we do that it will only make us look silly and stupid and the ground is swelling with discontentment and unhappiness. These repercussions will stir up anger in the people and this will translate into a vote against them.

Lets play fair and do not box under the belt  and if we do so like Mike Tyson, our reputaton and creditablity will go into the drain and we will stink even after life or our existence on this earth.
It is not worth it.

How to live long and prosper - extract

A new study from the Office of National Statistics in the UK, which used data
from some 40,000 British households, finds that seniors value their friendships
more than younger people, and that having friends and being social can keep
seniors healthier, longer.

In the survey, 60 percent of adults surveyed said that having friends in their
neighborhood means a lot to them, with 64 percent of adults aged 50-54 saying
this was this case.  For those 70 and over, this rose to 80 percent.

The survey found that 69 percent of people in the 50-54 age group agreed or strongly
agreed that they belonged to a neighborhood or communitiy. This rose to 84 percent for
those aged 70 and over.

"We know that feeling you belong in a neighborhood and having good friends can
have a positive effect on an older person's health and wellbeing," says Michelle
Mitchell, charity director general at senior-focused organization Age UK.

Age UK works to help keep older people stay active in their communities to help prevent
the isolation that can blight later life. "Good transport links, public seating
and toilets, safe and well-lit streets together with easy access to amenities such as
the post office or banks all make it easier for older people to get out and about and
stay visible and engaged within their communities," Mitchell adds.

Another separate study also found that having an active social life in mid-life is crucial to
feeling happy and connected. Published last August in the "Journal of
Epidemiology and Community Health," the UK study found a direct correlation
between psychological well-being and the size of a person's support network and
 social life.

Selective prosecution - A high handed way

Why is it happening ?  You can say it and I cannot say it.  Where does your previlege comes from ? Who gives the authority to decide on who to charge or who can say it and stay free ?  It is becoming a mockery and a circus.  If there is a law , it must be applied universally and not selectively.  If it is done selectively, it becomes a bias and an unfair treatment of the people.

In the world, everyone must have the equal rights of expression and it should not be suppressed by the use of the law.  Freedom of expression is a universal right and it goes hand in hand with human rights to make democracy meaningful. However, if any undemocratic government choose to restrict this freedom and installed a law to guide it.  Then, the law must be equally apply to all its Rakyat. Nobody should have the previlege right to break the law whether they are retired judges, former ministers or Government friendly parties.  No one can be above the law if there is any law to suppress expression.

Recently, what is happening in Malaysia is not right ? Why some Government linked Newspaper can openly released sensitive and racist statements or a retired judge can speak on racist matters easily and there is no response from teh Police ?  Why even existing cabinet ministers can said it and stay free while those leaders from the Opposition parties are discharged by the courts and arrested again on appeal by the Police. Meanwhile, no actions are taken against those BN friendly parties.

Of course, they think that the rakyat is stupid or ignorant . But , no more, the people are awaken and this injustice cannot exist for long.  Enough is enough and such biasness or high handed technique have to go.  Everyone have the same right under the law . Otherwise, we will return to the wild west .

Don't insult our intelligence by stupid words or actions, it is not tolerated anymore.

Muscle memory - a topic at my yoga session yesterday.

I was doing my regular warming up routine at my yoga session and suddenly, my teacher asked us what do we understand by muscle memory.  There was a complete silence and my teacher looked at me for an answer.  I have read it somewhere but it was vague as I have it some time ago.

I try to explain that if we continue to exercise our muscles in a regular routine and this routine is registered in our muscles and they will perform the routine without thinking.  Like the kungfu , Weng Chun. The master continued to practice the routine on its wooden robot regularly and when they fight , the muscles and legs will perform its pose and actions automatically to protect the master. It will come naturally and precisely without any thinking. Yeah, I was partially right but it was more to that.

I have read a story of a sailor who have been sailing on a ship for 30 years of his life and when he retire, he walks with a sway as if to the motion of the sea.  Perhaps all his muscles have been conditioned during his work as a sailor.

My yoga teacher told me that when we are hurt or injured on a certain part of our body muscles , the muscles will also keep a memory of those wound and pains and when we move that part of the muscles under the same condition, it will bring up the memory of pain or hurt in our consciousness. It is a bit complex but if we think logically , it could be right.

When some one walk and fell on a slippery floor and when they see a slippery floor, they body will get stiff and they will walk slowly and cautiously.  The memory of the pain could be triggered on the brain or on the muscles.

It is good for us to be conscious and be aware of muscle memory and we can set to defeat it when it surface in our body and mind.

Industrial Starch balls - " Taiwanese Pearls " - A health warning

Wed, 29 May 2013 07:15:00 GMT
| By May Ng
Industrial starch rumoured to be found in ‘pearls’
Tapioca balls found in bubble tea tested positive for banned industrial starch.

Before popular bubble tea franchises hit Malaysia back in the 90s, bubble tea lovers would grab their cuppa at night markets. The bubble tea craze in Malaysia has stuck around for a few years now and people are still queuing to get their hands on a bubble tea drink. The drink base ranges from milk tea, coffee, tea or fruity. Then you pick your sweetness level and ice or without ice. Oh wait, don’t forget the pearls!

Taiwan recently came to light where a company based in Central Taiwan was found positive for a banned industrial raw material in starch balls. Of which is found in tapioca balls mainly used in bubble tea drinks. The company has alerted overseas buyers of which Malaysia was one of them to omit the pearls. The Food and Drug Administration of Taiwan found maleic anhyride in the tapioca balls which if mixed with water becomes maleic acid. And it is prohibited from Taiwan’s list of approved starches in food products.

It is not the first time this ‘bubble’ issue raised public scare particularly towards milk tea drinkers. Are you a pearl lover? If tapioca pearls were removed from bubble tea drinks, can you survive? Share with us your second alternative topping. Grass jelly? Red bean? Aloe vera for a healthier option anyone?

My worst flight home from Bangkok

My worst flight home from Bangkok

I was on transit in Bangkok after my trip to Bangladesh  and was waiting for a connecting flight back to Penang. I reached at 5.15pm Thai time and was supposed to take the next flight at 7.45 om back to Penang.

I have two and a half hours to waste in Bangkok airport. I went shopping for about half and hour  and proceed to the designated gate. When I reached the gate , there no boarding sign and so I proceed to the waiting bay . There was no announcement of any delay and suddenly there huge crowd at one of the counter and the news came back that the flight was delayed for two hours. The boarding time have changed from 7.45 pm to 9.30pm and the stewardess were giving out dinner voucher of 300 baht and we were advised to proceed to fourth floor for our dinner.

I was quite upset that there was no official announcement for the passenger waiting at the  bay . Maybe they have indicated the delay at the electronic board. Another upset thing is that a dinner for baht 300 is not enough at the airport.

The Bangkok international airport is renown for its lousy layouts and messy boarding systems. There have been rumor that the design and structure if the airport was done so poorly that they could be massive corruptions for the Government to sign off the deal.

The airport business from the terminal took more than 15 minutes to reach the plane and it had to take a 360 degree turn to reverse to the plane. It was really upsetting at the inefficiencies of the airport.

I did not expect such bad services and wastefulness of the airport from an international airline.

Recently, I read of an article promoting Thailand for its hospitality sector and other Countries have a lot to learn from them. However, for me they not that good as promoted and there are much rooms for their improvements.

However , having said that there are certain sectors in their hospitality industry which provide standard of services especially in the hotelier sector.

Sometime, a small dot can spoilt the value of an excellent painting and it is really a waste and an unfortunate happening.

What happen to our society? - incident 2

Dying mum parts with last words for son who assaulted her: I will be back to haunt him

KUALA LUMPUR: A mother swore on her deathbed to never forgive her eldest son for killing her.
“She said she would come back to haunt him as a ghost,” said the woman's husband, who declined to be named.
The woman, identified as Liew, 59, died two days after she was beaten up by her 40-year-old son on Friday.
Although Liew and her son lived in the same house in Semenyih, they had a strained relationship.
Her jobless son would always ask for money from her and this often led to quarrels.
However, the argument that ended Liew's life was over something as trivial as air-conditioning.
He came home drunk at midnight and scolded his mother over the air-conditioning.
It is learnt that Liew lost her temper and caned her son who retaliated by pushing his mother to the floor and hitting her.
Liew managed to crawl back into her room and telephoned her daughter to take her to the hospital.
She was initially admitted to the Kajang Hospital, but her injuries were so severe that she was later transferred to Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
She fell into a coma and died on Sunday.
Her son has since gone into hiding.
Kajang Deputy OCPD Supt Azman Ayob said the post-mortem showed that Liew died from blunt force trauma.
“The case is being investigated as murder and we are looking for the son,” he said.

Do you believe in Fengshui? An experience

Do you believe in fengshui ?

I have a friend who told me that she found a house that she likes very much . It was her dream house with a big garden and at a reasonable price.

The house was not occupied since changing hands. I asked her whether she buy it for living or investment ? She told me is for her family to live in and I asked her to check the fengshui and even recommend her a good consultant. She arrange to let the consultant check the potential house over the weekend. The result?

This morning I got an email from her saying the house was not good for her and her husband and she do not whether to be happy or sad. If I did recommend her to check it out, she would have bought it and whether it is good for her or not , it is yet to be seen.

For me, there are so many beautiful trees out there, why choose a tree that is not good for us? This art of fengshui have been practice for thousand of years and why we choose to doubt it?  Investors have paid millions to get a good fengshui  and they could have experience the fortune and goodness that goes with it.

I have seen a few properties in Pensng island that is inhabitable and shops that cannot do business. Business have changed hands after hands, yet the business cannot sustain。

I have a brother in law who spend tens of thousands to renovate an office and when his fengshui consultant told it is suitable for him , he immediate terminate the tenancy and moved. This shows how serious is fengshui to some people。

It is not surprising that people of wealth and power rely very much on fengshui to protect their business, wealth and health.

If you believe it, you follow it. Otherwise leave to pure luck to get a place which provides the positive vibes to support you. Do you really leave it to luck or fate?

What Yoga can do for you? Extract

One sure sign that the centuries-old discipline of yoga has entered the mainstream is the fact that advertisers me now using yoga-inspired ads to market products as diverse as water, shampoo, facial soap, and calcium supplements.

A whole industry hawking yoga apparel, accessories, books, and videos has also emerged. Yoga-themed cruises and vacation packages are even now being offered by travel agents.

But in spite of all the media mileage and the fact that your friends' vocabularies now include words like asana, chakra and namaste, you might still be wondering if all that fuss over yoga is just that - fuss. After all, there is a dizzying assembly line of fitness programs to choose from these days and not enough time to give half of them a try.

Here's why it's worth including at least one yoga class a week in your exercise schedule.

UNION OF THREE
The tenet "mind, body, spirit" may have become too cliched but yoga delivers genuine results. No matter what kind of yoga class you take, three things will tell you you're doing authentic yoga and not just simulating acrobatic movements: Awareness or mindfulness of what you are doing (mind), conscious relaxation of your muscles (body), and conscious control of the breath (spirit).

Mara Carrico, author of "Yoga Journal's Yoga Basics," says that a simple way to remember these three principles is to "focus, relax and breathe."

The word "yoga" means "union." Learning to unify your mind, body and spirit translates into practical benefits in the real world.
Sharpening your focus and concentration will make you more productive at work. Knowing how to relax your muscles will help ease away tension from your neck, shoulders and back. Breathing control will invariably help you keep your emotions in check and calm you down in stressful situations.

Many people don't realize the role stress plays in weight management. Chronic stress, brought on by the constant, unrelenting presence of the stress hormone cortisol, may make you prone to overeat or binge and store fat in your midsection.

If you have been having a hard time losing weight, take steps to minimize the amount of stress you go through every day.

All forms of exercise help to reduce stress but the "focus, relax and breathe" technique that yoga enforces gives you more bang for your buck. After all, if you can control your thoughts, muscles and breathe while in a challenging upside down or twisted position, doing so during stressful moments at work or at home will be much easier, don't you think?

PHYSICAL AND SPIRITUAL BALANCE
Yoga develops both strength and flexibility at the same time-how's that for saving time? Even if you already have separate strength and stretching routines at the gym, yoga will challenge your muscles in an altogether different way. When it comes to muscle shaping and toning, the variety of drills yoga promotes will endow you with better results.

Many yoga poses test your balance and consequently force you to use your core muscles (abs, lower back, thighs and buttocks) so you don't fall down easily. This gives you a litany of benefits- sleek and strong muscles, better posture, insurance against accidental falls due to poor balance, and better athletic performance in sports. No matter what sport you take up, yoga will improve your performance mentally, physically and psychologically.

The cushion-like disks in your spine have poor blood supply and need to be compressed evenly in all directions to receive the right amount of nutrients from the blood. That’s why yoga poses take your spine forward, backward, sideways, and in rotation. All that moving around also works your internal organs in different positions and gives them an internal "massage" No wonder many people claim that yoga cures constipation.

If you already have a regular exercise routine and just can't fit one more class in, try substituting one of your sessions with a yoga class for two months. Then step back and see for yourself what yoga can do to improve your mind, body and spirit.

The quality of your breath- my experience

Waking up to a second day in KL and did my Tai Chi exercise . I could vividly remembered a YouTube video of a 113 years old grand master doing the Tai chi exercise like 40 years old man.  It was an incredible experience for me to see this event.

Don't mistaken me that I wish to live that long but it was amazing to see his firmness in his movement and the smoothness in his routine. He was swift and agile and I think his energy must wrapping around him.

At that old age of 113 , must people will be weak and their mobility will be restricted. I think Tai Chi helps to preserve the strength in our breath. If our breath is strong and smooth , our energy is full and power and will keep our health intact and will repel the stress in our body. The same goes with Yoga and other exercise.

In Yoga, we make our core strong and our joints flexible. Such relax body condition is good for Tai chi.
The blending is a wonderful combination.

Have a good day and you can start to check the quality of your breath whether it is short ,intermediate or long and whether it is rough or fine , loud or quiet. The quality of your breath determines your mental and physical conditions.

The song: Anak/child - my memory

The song " Anak /Child "  - recap

I am in KL with my wife and my sister and brother in laws and we had a fantastic lunch of Ampang  ' Yong Tufu' and nasi lah and an awesome dinner of  chicken wings, pork ribs and fine noodles and ended with a salad and 'Tufu Fah. The dinner was abit too much but it was wonderful  especially company and the hospitality. It  was a rare occasion.

During the conversation, I could the passion of  the parents when they talk about their children. Where are they, what are they doing, whether they are studying or working, how much they are earning and for those studying what the progress ,so forth and so on. It is forever a very hot subject and off course, among the younger generations , they have their own sets of problem.

In the Chinese saying, we support our child for a 100 years and we worry dead for 99 years. I think this is very true.

Thinking back in years when I was in a band , I like the song Anak \ child very much but I was not able to absolve the full feeling for it. Today, I recalled and listen to the song again, it really aroused my senses and it touched me deeply.
I wanted to let my daughter ,May to listen to it and to let her know how deep is our parental love for them.

I have been telling my friends that the parental love for our children is unconditional. It is comparable to GOD's love for all human mankind.

I have extracted part of the lyrics of the song here for your pleasure and you can tune into YouTube to listen to it.  It is appropriate in the spirit of Wesak......

When you were born into this world
Your mom and dad saw a dream fulfilled
Dream come true
The answer to their prayers

You were to them a special child
Gave 'em joy every time you smiled
Each time you cried
They're at your side to care

Child, you don't know
You'll never know how far they'd go
To give you all their love can give
To see you through and God it's true
They'd die for you, if they must, to see you here

How many seasons came and went
So many years have now been spent
For time ran fast
And now at last you're strong

Now what has gotten over you
You seem to hate your parents too
Do speak out your mind
Why do you find them wrong .......

Why do we sneeze? A study

Sneezing is one of the ways the body expels harmful substances. A sneeze is caused by spasms within the chest and pharynx (the part that connects the nasal cavity and oesophagus). Whenever something irritates the nerve endings in your nose, they send a message to the brain to get rid of the substance.

The brain then sends signals to the chest cavity (to squeeze the lungs) and the pharynx (to prevent air expulsion through the mouth). The result? A sharp burst of air via the nose - aka a sneeze!

Peace to everyone - my Wesak Day's wish

Today is Wesak Day and early in the morning I pray for world peace and living kindness for all mankind
especially  in my  Country, Malaysia.

I pray for the truth , righteousness, transparency and goodness. I hope good will prevail over evil and what is the truth will be uphold fair and square. All the evil deeds , lies and falsehood will be banished and those who have cheated must step down and what is right will take control.

But, this world is far from perfection. It is always the rich bully the poor, the big control the small and the well linked tower over the less fortunates. The gap between the rich and poor is getting wider. In some Countries , 80% of the Nations riches lies in the hands of 6% of its people.

I have read an interesting analogy somewhere which says that the biggest fish eat the big fish, the big fish eat medium sized fish and medium sized fish eat the small fish and the small fish eat the smallest fish and finally the small fishes eat the shit of the bigger fishes. Is this the true evolution.

If we do control and changed this formula , only the biggest or bigger fishes will survive while the small and smallest fish suffered in silence.

I cannot change the unchangeable but I can change the unacceptable and that is what I am gonna do. I also must say that I must tolerate the adverse opinion of others. This is a fair world and We should not impose our opinion on others.

Namaste.

Date: 24 May 2013
Time: 7.00pm
Venue: Malaysian Buddhist Association, Burmah Road

The Malaysian Buddhist Association in Penang will once again be organizing a 7km-long float procession for Wesak Day. Migrate or live in a jungle - your choice

Why should I be told what to do or where to live ?  I have my right to express my views and if I am not happy , then I am not happy. Why should I follow your silly thinking ? If without Sabah and Sawarak, we will be in power and you will have to run off with your pants down or live among the monkeys?  This is your choice , we did not imposed this on you.  We are more honorable and humble to the BN friendly voters.

Coming to think about the post GE13 scenario,  Sarawak is getting stronger and stronger and recently, there was an announcement that the salary of the Ministers and State assembly man have tripled.  Why only in Sarawak ?  This unilateral move showed that Sawarak is the " King maker".  They can bring Najib up or pull Najib down ,by just swing their support.

This situation provides Sawarak with an absolute power and is untouchable to the BN Government. Absolute power corrupts absolutely.  It is really embarrassing for  Malaysian Citizens to face the outside world. How can this happen ?

Apart from silly Ministers, we have to face a big "wolf" or an almightly warlord who can rule by himself absolutely and unilaterally.  What kind of Prime Minster we have ?  A lame duck PM ?

We cannot control the outcome and now the EC have commenced probing into the alleged  election frauds and hopefully,  these civil servants could still have a bit of righteousness spirit in them to provide the truth of these allegations.  Don't try to twist again and hide behind the face of hypocracy and falsehood.

Neck and back pain - the probable causes : a study

Usually, the older we get, the higher chances of us suffering from neck or back pain. Here is a simple guide on preventing such pains.

Have you ever woken up with a sharp pain in your neck or a muscle spasm in your back? Back pain is the most common culprit for absenteeism in the workplace and it may cause you to miss out on many other activities in your daily life.

It's important for us to take good care of our necks and backs. An estimated eight out of 10 people will experience neck or back pain at some point in their lives. Most episodes will resolve themselves without treatment, but sometimes the pain becomes chronic.

Muscle strain is one of the most common causes of neck and back pain. Because the muscles in the back are shorter than other muscles, they are more prone to spasm. Muscle spasms can be described as a sudden and, often painful, muscle contraction.

They can happen anywhere on the body, but back and neck spasms can be especially debilitating because it's nearly impossible to totally avoid using the muscles in your back.

Sometimes, a spasm can occur at random, or when your neck or back muscles are held in an uncomfortable position too long, such as crooking your neck to talk on the phone or sleeping in an awkward position.

Herniated discs, also called slipped discs or ruptured discs, are another common cause of back pain, and can be a bit more serious if left untreated. Between our vertebrae are shock-absorbing cushions called discs. As we get older, the discs become more brittle and less resilient to strain. When a disc gets ruptured, it bulges through and puts pressure on surrounding nerves, causing back pain that often radiates down into a leg because of the compression on the nerves.

If you discover you have a herniated discs, it doesn’t always means that you need surgery, but it does means that you need to take special care of your back. Which may include physical therapy, rest or special exercises. If you think you have a herniated disc, see your healthcare professional immediately. Disc problems typically only get worse if you ignore them.

Fractures are also responsible for neck and back pain. A fall or a severe jolt can crack a vertebra, putting the spinal cord at risk. Sometimes, surgery is necessary to put the vertebra back in place.

Here are some easy ways to alleviate or prevent neck and back pain:
Avoid sitting in one position for long periods of time. In the office or at home, stand up and walk around at least once every hour. If you must sit, make sure you have adequate lumbar support.

Sit up straight. Sitting up straight helps relieve the pains commonly associated with sitting. By using the muscles you aren't using when slouching, the overworked, strained ones get a break.

Use the right pillow. It's imperative that you have a good, firm pillow to adequately support your neck while you sleep. Many people find that the right pillow can actually improve the quality of their sleep. An orthopedic pillow with a raised outer edge and concave centre supports the neck whether you're sleeping on your back or your side and restores the natural curve of the spine.

Rape is rape. There is no compromise.

I was pretty disturbed by the news that underaged girls have been raped and the culprit can escape legal redress by offering to marry them.  Why? How can there be any compromise  whether by mutual consent or not ?  This compromise is totally rubbish.   Are we back to stone age period ? Something utterly wrong with this country.

Today's newspaper reported that one 40 years old man having four kids have raped a 13 years old girl and offered to marry her to escape the law by claiming they have sex out of mutual consent.  Silly excuse.  A minor should be protected properly under the law as they are still not of legal age or achieving the stage of any proper decision making.  If we do not act, we must be animals.

This case was followed by a news of a Bangladeshi who also wanted to marry a minor after raping her.  Hell, this is already too much.  How can we let this silly law to compromise the security of the minors?  Where have all the legal brains gone ? Down the tubes ?

These cases are so disturbing and will encourage more rapes if such easy of compromise can be done. I agreed with our Penang CM , LGE . These people should be charged and sentence to court and there should not be any compromise irrepectives of any particular law.

This animalistic behaviour of these rapist should be seriously dealt with and leave no room for compromise.  Help us, GOD if there are some people who think otherwise.

Is coffee good for you ? Study

Many busy executive need a cup of java to pep up their day. But just how good is coffee? Let's find out.

More and more studies point to the advantages of drinking coffee regularly. Angelina R. Bustos, an assistant professor at the Institute of Human Nutrition and Food at U.P. Los Banos in the Philippines, looks at the benefits of this beverage.

1. IT LOWERS THE RISK FOR SEVERAL DISEASES
• Diabetes. Compared with non-coffee drinkers, people who drink six cups or more of caffeinated coffee daily have a diabetes risk that is lower by 54% for men and 30% for women, according to findings by Harvard researchers. Although the scientists cite the need for further research, their findings do not deviate much from those of less-publicized studies. Aside from caffeine, coffee is loaded with antioxidants and minerals that improve insulin sensitivity and glucose metabolism.

• Parkinson's disease. At least six studies have found that regular coffee drinkers are up to 80% less likely to acquire Parkinson's, with three studies indicating that the more coffee is drunk, the lower the risk.

• Colon cancer, heart disease and liver cirrhosis. At least two cups of coffee per day can lower the risk of colon cancer by 25% and liver cirrhosis by 80%.

Coffee has antioxidants that protect cells against free radicals, which are implicated in cancer, heart disease and degenerative brain disorders.

• Gallstones. Coffee's ability to increase bile flow and inhibit biliary cholesterol from crystallising helps limit the formation of gallstones.

2. IT HELPS TREAT VARIOUS AILMENTS.
• Headaches. Do you know that pain relievers contain up to 120 mg of caffeine in a single dose? That's roughly the same amount found in a mug of coffee!

"Caffeine is added to pain medications because it improves absorption in increasing pain-killing effects," explains Bustos.
Asthma. When an attack comes on, have a strong cup of coffee. Caffeine is chemically related to theophylline, a standard asthma medication that helps open airways. According to Bustos, drinking at least three cups a day may also reduce asthma attacks.

• Constipation. Caffeine has a bowel-loosening effect that stimulates the colon and induces bowel movement.

• Hang-over. Shorten the agony by drinking a cup or two of coffee. Caffeine is a vaso-constrictor that narrows the swollen blood vessels in the head

Just don't drink too much or you risk becoming more dehydrated because coffee, like alcohol, is a diuretic.

3. IT ENHANCES ATHLETIC ENDURANCE AND PERFORMANCE

Studies show that caffeine boosts strength and endurance. By consuming enough caffeine, you will likely be faster, stronger and last longer in physical activity.

WORDS OF CAUTION
Despite its health benefits, coffee isn't for everyone. With some individuals, excessive coffee may not be tolerated well, increase cholesterol levels and aid in artery clogging.

And don't forget - coffee stains teeth.

And while recent studies show no considerable adverse effects on most healthy people, those with heart problems, are at risk for osteoporosis and are pregnant should regulate their coffee intake or avoid it altogether.

Until the issues surrounding coffee are resolved, the American Heart Association recommends moderation in consumption: so, stick to 1-2 cups a day.

Tension headaches - the cause : Study

Tension headaches are very common.
Did you know the way you sleep, sit or stand can be the cause?

Tension headaches are most common kind of headaches.
Although stress and fatigue can make them worse, a tension headache often starts with misaligned vertebrae.

This misalignment may irritate a spinal nerve, setting in motion other physical problems like tightening muscles and causing the steady, 'vicelike' pain of a tension headache.

Unlike migraine headaches, tension headaches are usually not unilateral or associated with light and sound sensitivity or nausea and vomiting.

Is it a tension headache?
1. Do you have steady, dull, tight pain around your scalp or neck?
2. Does the pain begin in the back of your neck and move forward throughout your whole head?
3. Do you sleep on your stomach with your head twisted to the side, or sit for long periods bent over in one position?
4. Do your neck and shoulder muscles feel stiff?
5. Does stress or fatigue, like that felt during long work days, trigger your headaches?

Parents, don't waits!

Call your doctor if your child has head pain that is severe or that is causes him or her to miss school or others activities. A child who's too young to tell you what's wrong may cry to hold his or her head to indicate severe pain.

Treatment
A tension headache often does not signal any dangerous illness. Check and re -align your sleeping, sitting or standing posture.
Most of the time, the pain will go away with time.

However, if a tension headache becomes a hindrance to your daily activities, talk to a doctor or chiropractor. He or she can help you to work out plans to overcome the frequency of headaches. Simple lifestyle changes and proper medications may alleviate the pain.

Talk to a doctor if you have:
1. Abrupt, severe headache.
2. Headache with other symptoms, eg, a fever, stiff neck, rash, mental confusion, seizures, double-vision, weakness, numbness or speaking difficulties.
3. Headache after a head injury or concussion.
4. Chronic headache that worsens and is precipitated by coughing, exertion, straining or sudden movements.
5. Onset of new headache pain, especially after age 50.

To whom Malaysia belongs to ?

Everything can happen in Malaysia just like Banglasia.  DS Anwar told off our Home Minister, Zahid by asking Zahid this question " You think Malaysia belongs to your father ?" after an article written by Home Minister asking Malaysians to migrate if they are not happy with the electoral system appeared in Utusan.  Then Zahid shoot back at Answar " Malaysia do not belong your father either ? I think this is a childish reply from Zahid.  Of course, Malaysia belongs to the Rakyat and all Malaysians.

If Malaysian do not like the electoral system, the Government must listen and adjust it to be more transparent and more efficient.  How come the ink can come off so easily?  This question is very simple and EC must answer to this issue. Something is definitely wrong with the EC.  There is nothing to argue on this mistake and this is a very serious mistake.  Somebody must come out to apologize and behave humbly and not behaving like a samseng and win by shouting and swearing . It is not a matter of a louder voice will win.

There are so many complains during the polling and foreigners were caught voting.  Air Asia said that they fly in everybody who have an IC . Yes, they cannot do much but at the polling station , the EC staff must be careful whether they are genuine voters or not.

If we win , we must be humble and cooperate with the losers and to answer all the queries that they may have so that winner can win with pride and transparency.

Saying the wrong thing, doing the wrong act and behave like samseng would not help.

Komtar , Penang - a truly Asia

Komtar, Penang. I am waiting for my turn for my hair cut after walking through the ITC lane linking from 1st Avenue and Komtar  buying my necessary things. When I reached my saloon, my relative  and the owner, Ong was talking about the presence of so many Bangladeshi  in the complex and It reminds me of Namewee's video , Banglasia. It is quite an irony for our silly  Zahid to tell Malaysians to migrate if there are not happy with election process and at the same time welcoming the foreigners. Yeah, Anwar is right , those mad Ministers thought the land belongs to their father.

In their dreams. This morning at breakfast , my brother told me that the Sarawak and Sabah component parties are now asking for more representation and seeking more budgets for their infra- structures. The white hair fella now is awake and giving instructions to his MPs to be more aggressive. As I told my brother, UMNO have shrink to be a minor party and he is controlled by Sabah and Sarawak . Each of the state is holding one of Najib's ball each and each will take turn to squeeze  each of his balls. He will run out of balance and patience soon.

Furthermore, how can he walk straight ? It will be a difficult balancing act for ajib-kor. I hope our Ajib-kor know his position and keep his whip tight and make sure those not so smart politicians or ex judges or biased editors boy to say  something stupid to rock the boat and sink his ship. Be humble and be smart   Otherwise, the squeeze will be tighter on both sides. Namaste

Insults to our intelligence.

Insult to our intelligence In ancient times, the various kingdom have survived for extended period is to keep its citizens ignorant and weak. The education systems is not structure to inculcate thinking and reasoning. They also control the media to keep their citizen in the dark and there is a conspiracy to brain washed towards a believe in their King and Empire. Suddenly came the Internet, the social media and powerful gadgets to open up the immense knowledge of the world to everybody. The people suddenly became intelligent overnight and their knowledge and awareness breaks the hold of Kingdoms of information and knowledge. The hell have broke loose and the shit have hit the fan.

Now it is change or be changed. There is no more stupid talks and silly acts which can get away easy. Millions of eyes are looking at all of us. The light have replaced the darkness and all acts have be transparent.  It is not easy to use men against men anymore. The real time news are instantly aware through SMS , Facebook and twitter.

So wake up , Men of power . Don't keep your head in the sand or keep repeating your old tricks.  Time to realize that the only an honest day's work will pay.  Don't just open your mouth or blow your trumpet.  The bag pipper's trick is not going to work. So, mind your words and your language and be responsible for your actions. The trick of blaming others or hide behind your  ignorance is gone.   If you point a finger, three fingers are pointing back at you.

To you, Man of power. If you are not ready to serve or you are not up to the mark , please step down and fake away. You can fool people sometimes but you  cannot fool them all the times. Their intelligence have awaken. Before are pull down , you better step down and move aside. Don't stop the world from turning.

Again to you, Man of power.  Be aware the law of Karma, it will catch you one day. So. Don't ever think that you can cheat and get away with it. The sins you have created to enrich yourself or to hold on to power, will turn back against you. The righteous will rise and the sinful ones will fall. Time will tell. Namaste.

Don Mueng Airport, Bamgkok

Don Mueng airport, Bangkok Now  I am waiting for my flight home to Penang. I know there is a second airport in Bangkok but I was not aware of its name. This international airport is now catering for budget airlines like Air Asia , etc and act as a support airport in case of emergency like the Subang Airport in Kuala Lumpur. I remembered during the occupation of the Bangkok International Airport by the Yellow Shirts all the flight were diverted to this lesser known airport. Finally, the Yellow Shirts were successful in being down the Thaksin's party and subsequently , the Government.

After that there was a fresh elections and a new government was elected. Sitting here brings back memories of Thailand's political changes and political pass.  Thailand from that time was split between urban and rural  groups with the rural groups supporting the current Government .

Another interesting thing is happening in a nearby departure gate which a group China Chinese waiting for their flight. They shouting at their top of their voice and I don't know whether they quarreling of having fun of their life.  There was a mix if laughter and raising of their voices. Very noisy indeed . This behavior is typical of the conducts of these china Chinese . Everywhere they go their high tone voice is their hallmark. Right or wrong  I really don't know?  They have the right to Enjoy themselves whereas I have my right to the silence.

Haiyoo, hopefully somebody would tell them to tone down. This is one if the imperfection in this world and that is a conflict of our rights. Now, I am suiting here biting my tongue and swallowing my anger. ' Wah Lau Yet' , monkeys.. Namaste.

Looking inside out.....

Looking from inside out...

During my conference in Bangkok, I met a lot of old friends . Some of them I have known them during the last conference in Taipei. For all of us, we have grown older by two years.

Surprisingly only for two years, some of us have grown old so much. Our hair have gone whiter and our face have sagged so much. I think it must the stress in our life apart from aging by two years.

The signs of getting old is quite obvious and sometimes, we do not realized it because it can be gradual and silent. If you slowdown to think about it, you will notice it.

You will find that you have walk slower, eat less ,eat slower, taking more medications, more white hair, less tooth, crumbled face, rest more , the face getting bigger because of less hair, less sex urge and talk less.
There are so many other signs if we care to think about it.

Some people maybe luckier if they have the time to take care of themselves or they manages their stress well. The stress can break down our immune system and make us age faster , sick easier and die faster.

If we look inside out, we can see these facts in others and we should also look inside us to realize that we are also part of the game.

No one if us can escape this game of life and at end of the day, it is a joke. So, take it easy , all of us will end in the same way. While on the journey, let's live our life as best as we can.

Post GE 13 - Arrogance & silly words

There is a saying when we win a contest , we must be humble so the loser can accept the losing more willingly. This is a basic human behavior especially when it is coming from a new home Minister. How can he manage a home with his arrogant outburst?

The new Home Minister Zahid told  the Malaysian people to migrate if they don't accept the current election system. Why can't we question the system if it is not perfect? The Government does not own it and it is supposed to fair and right. Where did the Minister get this funny idea ?
No wonder there is a saying absolute power corrupts absolutely . It also corrupts the mind and make them almighty and arrogant. Why can't there be a more clever home minister?

His outburst prompted another Minister to distance the Government  from his shameful act and prompted our CM of Penang to sarcastically to ask those BN supporters to leave Penang. How stupid can Home Minister be?

Another BN representative also issued a statement using vulgar words like 'sodomizing the mind of the people' while accusing the Opposition of using their advantage of the popular votes. I don't see what is wrong and a fact is a fact. I think the mind of this BN rep is full of sexist thoughts and nothing else. There is no other vocabulary or words in his head except sodomizing or four letter words. They must have foul mouth.

Another silly ex- judge talks about jihad and he only mend transformation. What an unlearned judge? His standard of English must be bad and real bad. Better for him to go back to school.

Let's be fair and winning is not everything especially you lost the popular votes. It is a time to be humble and for reconciliation for the nation to go forward. So, stop all those dirty words and stupid expressions. A person is judged by his actions and words and it is better to behave. Use the right words and carry out the right actions.

Three nights in Bangkok

Three nights in Bangkok

I am here to attend a conference  in Bangkok and on the first night , I was cheated by dishonest restaurant operators and been taken as suckers. It was really upsetting.

After arriving in the city , I took a cab from the tourist counter to my hotel. I told the manager of the cab company that I want to go to Meridien hotel . He told me he know the hotel. But, actually there are two Meridien hotel. One is Le Meridien and another is Grand Meridien. The owner is the same. The cab  driver was not sure and he followed his manager's instruction. He was wrong. Finally , the cab driver have to sent me to Grand Meridien after he reached Le Meridien. There was  a massive jam and it was a tiring trip for me.

I felt sorry for the cab driver and also upon reaching the hotel , he has to wait for 30 minutes for me as he agrees to sent me to a good restaurant for dinner. I thought I have to be kind to him. Again,
I was proven wrong.

I invited my guest to  join me for the dinner and the cab driver took us to a seafood restaurant and he had to charged me for additional fare and it was abit expensive but it was okay for me.

At the restaurant ,We ordered three dishes . One crab, one tong yam kun and one steam fish  for two person. It was shocking when they give us abit crab , a big Tom yam and a big fish. I think it should be for two sumo  wrestlers  instead of two ordinary person. It is really absurd as we want only food for two person.

The next shocking matter was that the bill came to a total of US$160 and it means that the food bill is US$80 per person.  Again, we have been taken to be a sucker.

To return to our hotel, we have to look for cabs to go back to our hotel.
All the cabs we approach refused to run the meter and demanded fixed fare. It was absurd  and unbelievable for these things to happen in Thailand.

It gives the image as a city of thieves.

Post GE 13 - BN's behavior

Malaysia after GE 13

The new Najib's cabinet was a
disappointment with sidelining of the Chinese representation  and repaying his supporters to hold on to his power.

The Sabahans, Sarawakians and Indians from Hindraf was heavily rewarded due to their untiring support or timely negotiated supports . The loyalty of the BN parties like MIC ,MCA and Gerakan fell like a rock despite their refusal to hold any post.

I think this political game is childish. Yes, they are heavily defeated but as a team, they should be rewarded because they are team players. Of course,  it is shameful to represent a
community which have rejected them.
But , this is part of the political game.
Never hold the people at a ransom and this could backfire as they can become  irrelevant in the process.

If we take away the Sabah and Sarawak seats, UMNO only have a minimum seats but they remained in control. Holding 21 ministries and this uneven seat could provide more conflicts in the near future among the component parties.

if the component parties like MCA, MIC and Gerakan failed to get more seats in the next GE and continued to shun participation in the government and it will move these parties to redundancy.

For the opposition parties, they have to gain more and more power which if not,,their union will weaken and this could lead to their breakup.

The survival of a two party system is important to ensure check and balance situation and also transparency.  This is the basic requirement for democracy.

Sauna and hot tubs will harm the sperms - study

Saunas And Hot Tubs Will Boil Your Sperm To Death

Does a sauna make you feel all hot and bothered and sexy? You might want to rethink that. A new Italian study suggests that men who love soaking up the heat in saunas could suffer from lower sperm counts. Good news, though—the effect may be only temporary.

Researchers at the University of Padova in Italy recruited 10 healthy Finnish men in their 30s for the study. All had normal sperm counts at the start of the trial, and they agreed to spend 15 minutes in a sauna twice a week for three months.

Checks after the period found that all the men had lower sperm counts, which remained below normal for another three months after they stopped visiting saunas. However, after six months their sperm counts bounced back to normal.

The findings make sense, says Dr Andrew Kramer, urologist at the University of Maryland Medical Centre, because higher temperatures are known to affect sperm production. The sauna sessions increased scrotal temperatures by 3°C.

"The testicles hang down from the body in men to cool them," he said, adding that men with undescended testicles can have impaired sperm production. However, the new study didn't assess the men's fertility, so it's impossible to know whether their fruitfulness was cooked during the period they took saunas.

A man's sperm count doesn't always correspond to his virility either, says Kramer, so because of this saunas can't be used as a method of birth control. Also, he added that the new study doesn't provide enough evidence to say that healthy men shouldn't visit saunas altogether.

Prior research has linked lower sperm counts with frequent use of hot tubs, as well as keeping a laptop on your lap for long periods of time. But Kramer says more study is needed to look at the effects of sauna exposure on men whose fertility is already impaired, or on boys who haven't reached puberty.

The study was originally reported by LiveScience.com and appears in the print edition of the journal Human Reproduction.

Karma - the plus and minus of life

Yesterday, on my way to dinner with my family and my daughter's BF,  I asked my daughter what she knows about the law of karma. I told her that whatever things we do which affects other people will have a cummulative effect and it will come back to haunt us one day. So, if we have a lot of plus credits, then goodness will come to us and if on the opposite , if we cummulate alot of minus, it will come back to haunt us. It may come in this life or the next or next, nobody knows.

There is a wise saying if we do not lie, then we should not worry about our words or actions.  If we lie, then  we will have to be careful for the whole of our life so that we do not reveal the lie.  It is an extremely painful thing to do. There is nothing to fear if we are honest in our words and actions.

Another wise saying is that if we have done nothing wrong in our life, we will have the whole world to ourself.  We will be remain happy, joyful and peace at all times.

If we are aware of our karmaric effect of our words and actions and we try our best to observe it , there will be automatic joy in our life and we will be blessed with good health and fortune. If we gave away, the fortune , we will exchange it with more joy , happiness and peace.  The joy of giving is awesome and tremendously powerful.

So, don't think too much as prolong thinking will caused problem to arises or thoughts to tickle you into actions . Keep a peaceful mind and awareness of karma  and your life will be blessed.

Dying to be me : A remarkable journey

Today, I received an SMS from my wife with a website link : Dying to be me.  I did not know what it was all about  and I did not bother about it.  During dinner, my wife asked me about the SMS and I told her that I was not been able to access it and she told my Iphone and got the link on.  It was a recording of an interview of the author , Anita and a Filipino host about her best selling book , Dying to be me.  It was an awesome experience for me after listening to the interview.  It brings back all the knowledge from the Buddhist books that I have read.

The author, Anita is an Indian , ran away from an arranged marriage , subject to the strict  Indian customs and the caste system, feeling insecure and suffers alot by not been herself out of fear and  subjected to alot of stress while living in  HongKong because of the clash of the cultures. Due to her life style and fear of expressing herself , she developed cancer and the cancer spread to her lymph note and she was in a coma for 30 hours near death. She talks about her near death experience,  GOD and Heaven.

According to her, GOD have no physical self but an experience of unconditioned love and Heaven is not  a place but ability of oneself to be what we are or what we intend to do and moving without  space, time and limits.

In the book, she said that how she recovered from Cancer  and now she is in her six years or more after her recovery . The reason she recovèred was due to her father wish that her time was not up and because of her love for her husband ,she came back to damàged body which was down to only 85 lbs. She said that dying was a beautiful thing and there was immense joy when you are in the stage and there was nothing fearful about death.

This reminds me of a Buddhist wisdom which says that if we are not fearful of death, then we actually start living. We have to live to be ourself, say what we wantt to say and enjoy  joy and happiness .  All of us  should enjoy the joy of living and not been fearful and eat to avoid cancer or  restrict our lifestyle  or suppress what we want to do and behave restriçtedly out of fear of not living according to expectations of others.

I have yet to read the book but from the TV interview,  it is a book we should not missed and
reading this book will bring us through another awesome experience.

Lunch at Khuntai Thai restaurant at Telok Kumbar, Penang

Today, I went to Balik Pulau to see one property which was recommended by my friend and
it was developmed by VST, a property group which was located at the main road.  After visiting the property, my brother told me that the old road leading to Balik Pulau have been newly developed , so I suggested that we go bcak to Air Item by the old road instead of the hilly road to Air Itam.

I was quite sceptical as the roads have been narrow and winding .I was taken by surpirse as the new road proved to be widen and there was several new bridge and highway to cut across from Balik Pulau to Telok Kumbar. It was much shorter and the new roads were quite wide and the driving was easy.

After reaching Teluk Kumbar, I wanted to see the sea and my brother told me to take a road to the sea side village of  Teluk Kumbar.  On the way,  I saw a Thai restaurant ,Khouthai Restaurant. I was abit thirsty and so I suggested that we take a drink and eat some light food.

Yes, the restaurant was situation by the sea side and the wind was strong today which caused the waves to be turbulent as well. The wind was dry and sticky  and the noise of the
waves was quiet distubing. We stayed on for lunch and the taste was  quite good and it was reasonably  cheap. The crowd was building up as we get up to leave.

It was a long drive back home to  Air Itam but the drive was worthwhile and it was quite a journey,
