My heart is not a playground.........

I was rIeading my FB site and I came across a very wise and protective message. It starts with " My heart is not a play ground, if you want to play go somewhere else". Wo! really direct and straight forward. Relationship is a very dangerous game. It not only hurts , it kills. There are so many incidents of killing over love lost  or jealousy.

love have two sides of a coin. It is a great feeling and on the other side, it hurts deeply. The feelings run wild and it erupts, it cannot be contained easily.

Some  of my friends understand this wisdom deeply and yet some of them in caught in this relationship game and this caused them dearly.  Those more strong minded friends always remind each other that if you want fun, it is better to enjoy with professionals and one night stand rather involved in a long term relatioinship.  Nobody is absolute right or wrong in the way they lead their life.

Some people consider this "fun" as a morale issue but some people feel that this is a business relationship. If a service is rendered  satisfactorily , then we have to pay for the serivce. So, there is a complete closure to the deal. In this way, nobody is hurt.

If we play around with love, it can be very dangerous and it has great repercussion and consequences if the ending is not close properly. For man, they can get services but for the female, it is not so easy unless the lady is also enjoying it for fun but most female takes relationship very seriously and can have very ugly endings if both parties are not careful.

My message is stick to the message , if you want to play , go to the right place and prepare to pay for the service and have a complete closure. We have to remember that there is a very fine line between friendship and relationship. Be aware of it and constantly remind us of the fine line and never attempt to close it if you are not prepared to face the consequences .

An uneasy feeling

Just finished lunch at a Congee shop near to my factory.  My stomach is full of water  and I am feeling abit warmed up. Have a full afternoon with meetings and interviews.  A kind of fullness swell inside me.   Still need to do some  task but each time,  I was distracted by some other request.   Time is running out as I have a deadline to catch.

Some of the days in the past, it has happen like today.  An uneasy feeling . Not knowing what to do first.  Some many urgent task while in my mind, I am confused on its priority.

I need to seek a temporary solace to clear my head before I return to the pending task.  A cup of latte or cuppacino  will be helpful or a short fun time with clear the cloud.  Yes, coming to think about it , it is just like been lost in the fog.

In certain stage of our life, we sway away from our path and seek to return to the routine path instead of building up another new path for ourselves.  Our comfort and complacency always pull us back to our usual and comfortable path.  Things we know and we familiar with.  It is just a matter about passing the time in the usual way.  Don’t rock the boat.

During this period , our dream is also very vague and scary.  All  kind of things can happen in our dream and we live the impossible.  Things are so much easier than in real life. We can roam around freely or just do the things we like or be with somebody we like and without any constraints.  Upon waking up, we feel guilty after betraying the trust of  our partner and we have to be accountable for any actions we have taken.

When we are in our dreams, we feel  like we are out of a box but once we woke up, we back in a box. In real life, there are so many restrictions  and we are expected to live within the expectation of the Establishment.  There are so many do and don’ts  and so many pitfalls to avoid.   Life is never free until our mind is free.

I know the uneasy feelings will be swing to and fro  and playing on my sentiments.  We can have our dreams but in reality, we are living within the judgment of others.

Explore our limits

At last Saturday's yoga class, I have finaly know what my teacher have been asking us to do when she told us to explore our limits. One of her style is to put strength into our hands and legs which will support the difficult pose that we will need to execute if we want to attain a higher physical well being

This basic steps is like learning martial art.  We need to  sttrengthen our foundations before we practice the movements.  If we were to practice the steps before having a strong foundation, it will be like a tall building withourt a a strong foundation, it will fall by its own weight.  So, to give us strong hands and legs, my teacher will put us through very tedious stunts. We will need to hold hte stunt for 15 to 20 counts and we can experience the enormous pain that starts shooting up our arms and legs. It is a real test of ou rmind  and our tolerance level.

When we experience pain, our mind will make us focus on the pain and it is self defeating because the pain will overcome us and we will give up so, in these  ipainful moments, my teacher will ask us   to continue breathing, loosen our heart , be aware of the movement and push our selves to our limits. It  is so confusing , when we are in pain, yet we need to seek more pain by exploring our limits ?  it is a silly advise , isn't it ?  But, there is a lot of logic in these advise. By exploring our limits, we will take our mind of the pain and our focus is to find the space to breath and push our joints a little more or bear the pain a little  longer, etc.  All these tiny attempts will move us a little further towards perfection.

To attain greater flexibiliity, balance , strength and power in our body, it cannot be achieve in a day.  All short cut programmes in market is only full of marketing and eventually, it will return you to your old self. A little improvement a day will be painfully slow but it will strengthen you indefinitely in all parts of your  body including your control over your mind.  Like I have just say,  we have to learn to be aware and focus . So, these process will involved controlling your mind to move our body to search for our limits.

I have realised that Yoga exercise is not only to give you a fantastic body but also a power mind  and with the body and mind connections, you will  complete control over yourself  and have eternal happiness.

Canton-i at QB, Penang

I had a dinner with my wife at the restaurant , Canton-i at Queensbay, Penang.  The restaurant was almost full and it was a Saturday night.  I like this restaurant as it serves cantonese style dishes. The congee and noodle was excellent in texture and taste. It was one of many outings to this restuarant.

The message I wanted to convey in this article is that the crowd comprises of mainly family groups.  The children bring their parents or brother and sisters with their families, couples, etc. Some ordered very basic diskes like one noodle or congee whereas others ordered a variety to enjoy the family time together.  With so many families, it was loud and noisy  like the Hong Kong restuarants.  Cantonese are basically very vocal and noisy people.

One particular family was outstanding and they sit next to us.  It was a group of three families. One group is  a family of three ie husband ,wife and one child and another party is family of four ie husband , wife , one child and a new born baby. The reminder was the married sister  of the two sisters.  I could not avoid overheard what they say.  They were laughing and poking fun at the children between their conversation.  I admire the atmosphere as they look happy  and enjoying their time together.  But, during the conversation, the two "husband" would tell the single lady that they would like her husband to join the dinner in the future. It put abit of pressure on the lonely lady as she struggle to find a good reply.   When I took a peep at her, she was facinated with the childrens  and laughing away.  I think she is newly married and is trying to start a family.  Yeah, you may say that I am a KBC or a busy body but it was interesting how life is evolving  around us.

In the Chinese saying " every family have a difficult religious chant", it means that there are problems in each family.  No relationship is perfect. Amidst the happiness, there is sadness and life is always evolving between happiness and sadness.  There is no  way that we can have eternal happiness until we obtained enlightenment. If there is happiness, there will be sadness and we have to accept and beware of this fact.

In time of happiness, we should enjoy the most and in time of sadness, we try to minimise the impact. By this awareness and a conscious mind, we will be able to maximize the happiness in our life.

I wanted to share this experience with all of you because I could perceive that happening there is a message and if we are aware, we will be able to learn and manage our emotions and thoughts.

Did I sell my soul to the Devil?

On Friday, I had a casual conversation with my boss, H and he told me that he is getting older while I am getting younger. I could not catch his real meaning so I disagreed with his perception.  In heart, I wanted to tell him that I did not sell my soul to the Devil.

Many years ago, I saw a movie about a man who sell his soul to the Devil to exchange for eternal youth and power. In the end, the Devil took his life after making use of him to carry out his activities.

Keeping young and heathly is a mean to enjoy happiness while we are alive .If we are youthful , we are energetic  and remain positive and this make us healthy.  Like I have always say, a healthy body breeds a healthy mind and vice versa. Basically, nothing more than that. It does not mean that when we try to keep our youth and health, we have to continue to work forever. Having said that, we cannot dispute that working is a mean to keep our youth and health ie doing the work we like and passionate about.

Some people keep their youth to keep their beauty and appeal  and to make a living out of it.  There are many reasons for people to keep their youth and whatever it s, they have the right to choose their way . This is their life unless by doing so they use it to hurt others. If not, it is perfectly alright.

The best philosophy is to keep our youth to prolong our health and use it to do the things we want to do while we are travelling in our life journey. Alot of people align age with health.  When we are old, we should look old ,hagard and unhealthy. Yes, it is a natural process but why should we follow this notion if we can do it otherwise?  Okay, we could be contributing to the comestic companies, wellness set ups  and health clubs, the awareness to sell supplements for youth and health have been done thousands of years.  Furthermore, it is a choice , we can choose this way or the natural way like meditation, yoga , qugong ,etc.
It is a choice of life.

But , in the end , it is the same. All of us will have to die and we should tamper with the evolution and nature. The basic principle of Buddhism's life cycle should not be changed.  Birth, age, sickness and death is a very natural process but the interval between these process can be different  ie age can be also with a youthful look.

So, it is our choice and decision and we must respect each individual's choice.

We do what we say.....

If you read the following phase , please  think about it and judge whether it is the same or where are the differences “  We do what we say , We say what we do “. On the surface, they are same but think about it and find the difference … pause for a while before you read my argument.

When we say “ We do what we say “,  this means that we have fulfilled our promises or our verbal commitments.  We have delivered the things that we say we will deliver.  We are honorable and creditable in our words and action.

How about “ we say what we do” ?  In this respect, there is a range of interpretations. We can say what we do briefly , correctly , excessively  and rhetorically.  We can even say it  in a way to confuse , to provoke or to convince. The way of delivery will depend on the words we use, the tone we say it  and the sequence we say it.  It can paint a very accurate picture in our head or a false explanation of the things we do.  This result will depend on the power of the speaker and his intention.

We live in a illusionary world and what we see may not be the truth or the actual fact.  Our eyes and thought could confuse us  and give us the wrong picture.  If  our sight can still betray us than what about the words we use to deliver our message on the things we do?  It could be even more manipulative and evil.

We have to ask more questions and do not hesitate to listen more or see more or read more  to satisfy ourselves that people are saying what they do  and do not have the intention to fool us into believing.  Believing is something but the seeking the truth is another. Don’t jump to conclusions or act hastily based on explanation by others . Take time to seek , know, inquire  and only then we accept what other people do.

The awakening

Sometimes our behavior became obsessive and we will continue to  pursue something we want senselessly.  We are blinded by  the obsession , neglecting all the adverse impact or the severe damages which may come our way.  We blow away all the logics and breaking all the rules on the way.  This is very serious.

Like a fatal attraction.  The obsession could come loneliness , stress or pent up anger and there is a need to release all these feelings and we need to seek solace or an acceptance.

I was told by a colleague that in Japan,  a couple can be just staying together  under one house but having separate lives and the only condition that the monthly income is shared by the couple. Next thing come to my mind is that why do they have to stay together and remained as married  when all the love have been lost ? Is it purely to accepted by the society ?  What an idiotic custom or belief to follow isn’t it ? Maybe, it is for the children but again, why ?

In the Christian marriage, there is a vow which binds the married couple  which calls for a bond in “ sickness and in health” to be remained as a couple. I believe this is so, if there is still love. Otherwise, it could be another bondage to tie us down.

By saying these things, I am not against the Establishment but I think it is each person’s right to live whatever way they choose  instead of  been bind down by a vow or a sense of responsibility or to be accepted in a Society. We should have our own right of living. It is not a matter of right or wrong  and  nobody is qualified to judge on this matter.

Coming back to obsession, it can come and it will pass if the awakening sense return us to the real world.  What we blindly chase and got,  is  a dream come through and who knows , it might become a nightmare as reality is awaken.

Passing the buck

This is a very common  habit of people to pass our job or  responsibility  to another person. This is the best way for us since we do not have to do the job.  Another way of describing this bad habit is “passing the buck”.  Why passing the buck ?  The meaning of the word “buck” means money.  I do not mind be given the buck but unfortunately, it is a short form for bucket.

In ancient times when there is a fire, people will queue up to pass the bucket  to fetch the water .  The easiest job is to pass the bucket while other people will have to fill up the bucket and carry the water to put out the fire. Everybody wants to do the easiest job and this is the real meaning of passing the buck.

In order to stop this bad habit, we have to tell them the “ buck will have to stop here” and we have to do the job instead of passing it on to other people.  If we allow this bad habit to carry on, more and more people will be passengers rather than doers and if this happen, the whole system will collapse.

Why do people pass the buck? Sometimes, it is because of the responsibilities that goes with it  or  we have to learn to handle the job or when we are too occupied with other task.  Learning is a very difficult task for many or doing other jobs out of our normal routine is actually considering going out of our comfort zone.  We are basically lazy and complacent people by nature.

We have to learn how to go out of the box  and to see what can we do more.  My Yoga teacher told us that when we are in a difficult and painful pose, we should take the chance to explore  and try to push ourselves harder  in all angles even if the pain intensifies.  By being aware of this attempt, we will find new grounds.  We should clear off our fear and move towards a  new horizon.

So, keep pushing ourselves and our angle will be wider and our vision will be clearer.

Blessed with good health

Last week, my colleague told me that she  is suffering from Thalamiasmia which is a form of blood disorder. The disease arises due to the lack of red blood cell which cut  ooff sufficient supply of oxygen to the vital organs. The red blood cells cannot derive from food, pills or any other means except  by blood infusion.  Again, if there is excessive red blood cells, it will clog the vital organs and caused organ failure and eventually lead to death.  The main cause of this disease is hereditary, through the genes. This is a simplified explanation of the disease.,

After this discussion with my colleague,  the thought of this disease order have been constantly floating in my mind and when I read the Star Newspaper today, there was a very detailed article on this disease.  It was a good reminder  to all of us  that it is very fortunate to be blessed with good health and we should value it very much and do our best to maintain it.

There was  a story of a boy who complain that he do not have a good pair of shoes despite having many shoes in his belong and one day, he saw a man without legs and trying his best to move around and make himself happy.  This is to tell us that we have more than we need but yet we are not happy.  We lost our focus in life and to pursue something more than we need.  We gave the excuse that we are scare of poverty  and we cannot live in a lesser  comfortable environment and for these reasons we strive for material wealth. The more the better and the most is perfect.

In the process, we spoilt the good health that we have been blessed and seek money to repair our damaged health.  We go in a big circle to seek what we have from birth.  This is the irony of life.  I have written several article on this matter  and I would continue to inspire all of you to eat well, move well and sleep well.

Keep moving and maintain a balance life and  we will realise that it is a very simple task. We change our stage of mind, we change our life.

Born free - Are you free?

Like the song "born free",  we should be free as the wind blows. Like the birds in the sky, the butterfly in the woods, the animals in the jungle. We should be free to do whatever we like or go wherever we want and live however we like. No chains, no bondage and no worries. Are we truly free?

Look at ourselves now.  We have to worry about our studies, where we live, how to live , what to eat and most of all what we should have. We are born free but once, we are out of our mother's womb, we have been conditioned by our loved ones , our peers , the custom, the establishment, the things we see, we hear and the things we are taught. s

If we are born in a place or in a family of means then we are given a better education and conditioning. But, if we are born in the slums, we will be among the slum dogs living and thinking in manner of the day. So, we need to go back in our past and know our past in order to change our mindset and outlook. The conditioning and educationing our mind and thoughts can be very silent, quiet and stutle.

Most of our thinking now is based on our past and our exposure and experience from our past encounters with the people and the way they are thinking and how we absorbed from the experience and the encounters. All these mould our thinking and decisions.  If we were to know your past , your education background and  shared your experience, we can have an accurate personal profile of you and how you will re-act in a particular situation or answer a particular question or make a particular decision.

If we want to change your self and  want to make a decision by your "own" self and not your "profiled" self, it is only possible to analyse your past and your exposure and experience to unlearn or be aware of how it influence you . So, before you decide or re-act, you have to draw your awareness of your past and spend the time to make the decision or re-action.  You have to repeat this process tediously and painfully before you can dilute the influence of your past in your future self.

There is a study that if we tell a "lie" for a thousand times, it is no more a lie but a fact. This is the conditioning of our mind and our thoughts.  So, whatever process that is done repeatedly, it would become an written SOP in our mind and we will act, decide and live within this confinement.  So, break free form your "conditioned" self and live free. This is what life is should be and not only living in your comfort zone and make your self believe that is the best for you .  Think carefully, living in your own box may not be the best for you as outside the box , there is a bigger world.

Live well, eat well  and born free again.

Lying on my bed, thinking

Just watch a movie " Man on the ledge", a good movie which tel a story of a cop who was trying to prove his innocent in a diamond heist.  In the end, he won with the help of his family members. It quiet touching in the end, when the right wipe off the wrong or the good  won over the evil.

If you check out the recent movies which have make big bucks , you will notice that it is all about super heros.  With the latest technology in flim making, they make  all the heros look extremely real and good.  Start off with the avengers, then spider man, Iron man , bat man, superman, etc , etc . All these heros depicts good over evil and the greatness of righteousness.

If we collect the complete version of Superman or Spiderman from the first version to the latest version, you will notice that the super heros are getting more real, stronger and more powerful. They flying , jumping or running is faster, higher and longer. The power of goodness have gained strength over the years.

I am for one like Super heros. When I was young, I like the Chinese martial art heros who carry a sword and travel across the country  fighting all the villians and killing all of them.,  Like in the western movie, " Have guns will travel" , for me " Have swords will travel". My flying will jumping over the walls , hop from building to building and flying above the grass.  Now, the flying by Superman is sky is the limit  and speed of jet plane. Even Spiderman  can now beat the China man martial art expert. He swing from one high building to another. Ow, so real.

I wonder how an ancient Chinese martial art expert can compete with Superman or spider man. Yeah, I am sure there is no competition at all. This comparison will show us what technology can do for us. It can make us more and more powerful.  Just like in the past , there is no internet and computer is just as big as a big house and now, an Ipad is light and its ability and capability is many times tIt is will shcoking to see what happen in 10 to 20 years, you could see a Iron Man like robot flying above you like a plane. Now, big motor companies are talking about building flying cars and it looks like what you are imagining now will come true in the future.t

It is incredible how the world have changed by technology. So, sweet dreams and when you wake up, work towards your dream.

Driving in Penang is not safe anymore

I got into an accident yesterday after dinner and on my way home from my sister C's house. Her home is onlya few roads away from my house.  On my way home, my car stopped at a junction and infront of the junction, there was  a yellow box  and this box was to stop cars from blocking my access to the side road.  Cars are not allow to stop in the yellow box.

The fraffic was heavy and the cars stopped infront of the yellow box to let me go into the side road. So, I edged in but I stopped after I saw a bike speeding pass the cars and heading to my direction. I stopped  inside the yellow box hoping that the bike will miss my car. However, the young biker could not avoid my car and clash into it and he was thrown up in the air and he landed about 10 few away from my car. He got up and blamed me for stopping my car in his path. I asked him why he is riding his bike so fast and other cars have already stopped for me while he came in from behind the cars at such great spped.  He told frankly that he was speeding and he could not control his bike.

He called his father and I told his father that I will need to report to the traffic pollice and he agreed so we went our separate ways. It took me one and half hours to record the accident , interviewed by the police and get the police photographer to photograph  the demages to my car.

My confidence was shaken and I told myself that the roads are getting congested and there are  more dangers on the road then before.,  We have  snatch thieves,  bullies, the faint hearted, the old aged drivers, the faked FI drivers, the pretentious superbikers, the nutties and the crazies. All these strange nuts mixed among the innocent drivers and it was hell having to drive among these crazy nuts.

Just recently, an old women died when a snatch thief snatched her handbag on the wee hours of the morning and the poor women fell and hit her head on the road. The fall crack her head and she lay there for 15 minutes without any help from passer-by and she died from her injury. This incident illustrate that the human beings are getting less caring and selfish and is refusing to help others while it  is not safe to walk or drive on the streets.

What is happening  to our world ?  It is  getting so advance in technology but people are getting less passionate and caring towards each other. In my younger days, we mix and run around with my neighbours' kids and we know each other by their names . Not only my parent's neighbours but the name of everyone in the whole street or village. There was so much love ,joy and fun.  Now, all the kids are hook on the TV , video games, facebook  and vitual socializing. There is so much less personal contacts and mixing around is hardly done. They can now communicate via facebook, SMS, Ipad and Iphones , so there is not need to meet or they have not time to meet due to their hectic schedule with their phones.

Through this technology socializing, they have thousands of friends on the internet but alone phyically in this world. Their world is their room and the internet faculty. Is this the right way to live and is it the the real joy or happiness we are getting?

Everything is so fake now and on the road , there are so many type of people who are rushing for no reasons, stressed up with each another  and endangering the life of others.

Talking without speaking, hearing without listening and eating not knowing what we are eating and living in the world of illusions.  What have our life beomes?

The passing and coming of the Greats

I love the Deep Purple songs.  I grow up with it  and I am crazy about the song “ Smoke on the water”. This song was co-written by Jon Lord and now he is dead at 71.  He died of cancer and complications of  chest infection.  He was a  great musician.

Next, was  Stephen F  Covey, the author of the seven habits of highly effective people.  He died due to the severe injury of head as a result of  a biking incident.  He was 79. His books sold for more than 25 million copies and he had became a management guru  to millions of people.

How they become so famous ?  Jon Lord wrote a  great song and Stephen Covey wrote a great book. Both are creators of their own rights  and they shared  the same vision and they dare to be different and put their thoughts into action.   They want to be someone different and finally, they created something different which is very liked by the masses.

This kind of greatness have been happening through thousands of years.  Some became great actors, politicians,  authors , song writers , religious leaders and gurus even great chefs or great business man or painters,  a wonderful  computer gargets like Iphone, Ipads, etc. The list is not exhaustive and it run into hundreds and thousands.

You can be one of them if you put your mind to it and persistently follow it through.  A vision remained a vision and if you take action to change into a product , it became a creation. If that product have mass appeal, you can become great.  If you do not try, you do not know.  The difference between a vision and a creation is action.  Just one step and it is within your ability to do it.

Remember, you can become one of the Greats. Just dream, visualize, action , creation and you become GREAT.

My dog, Brownie

When I first saw the dog which my daughter's boyfriend, Y bought for her, I have good feeling for her. she was kind of cute and her eyes carry some sadness in it. My wife was so scare of it and she never like dogs or cats. For me, my dog, Ah Wong died about 30 years ago of food poisoning. Ever since, I have never laid an eye on any dogs that came my way.

For Brownie, I started playing with her with my foot and I let her bite my toe as she seems to enjoy biting things. Slowly, after work, I began to look for her everyday and I would play with her for a while before I go home. Recently, my daughter would carry her up and then put her on my tight and I started toc arass her and she seem to like it. She is so tiny in my hands as I hold her up and lightly comb her hair with my hands. She just lay on my lap and enjoy the love I pour on her.

Suddenly, I began to feel that Brownie knows how to appreciate my love and she show her joy by licking my hand and my face. This dog arouse my past disappointment with my friends. Those people I have help , supported  and love can just turn their  back on me if I say something wrong or  I disagree with them. The change can be instant and their claw back or prowl back at me like a wounded animal. They have short memories and they forgot how strong is our relationship. The hurt bury all the past and flame engulf their eyes with anger.

I have seen it all in the past  and the wound is still fresh and the memories still hurt. There no foundation of friendship and greed and anger just took over them and they will change completely to be another person.

After playing with Brownie for a few days, I believe why so many people start to rear pets and become anti - socials. The bond between the people and their pets can only be understand by another pet lover. They are living in their secure world , shield away from the instability, emotions and revengeful  actions from the imperfect human beings.

What is wellness ?

I read an article this morning during my breakfast on wellness.  It was beautifully written in simple words.   Wellness is eat well, move well and sleep well.  If you can do these three simple things, you will have an eternal youthfulness which is more than skin deep.

What do we mean by eat well?  It had been for thousands of years in China where the Emperors eat the best food for good health and longevity.  They believe that you are what you eat.  A balanced diet with all the nourishing herbs would improve your wellness. Nowadays, with the advance in technology and new findings, it has been converted in pills and tablets  with vitamin A to Z  and multi-vits ,etc which is very convenient and cheap for us to have the similar effect.  We can also live like the Emperors of the past.

What do we mean by move well ?  It is just the proper exercise . Simple walking, yoga , bicycling , Spa, massage, Tai Chi , meditation,  Qigong, etc.  We are free of pains in our joints and we can move well without aids , then that is wellness in movement.  Moderate and our regular exercise in our daily routine can have marvelous help to our movement of our joints and other parts of the body.

What do we mean by sleep well ?  Sleep is a way of letting our body repair the wounds in our daily lives.  Good sleep not only relax and help our body recuperate  but a healthy body promote a healthy mind and the evolutions between these two factor will compliment each other and give us a healthy body and a healthy mind and in reverse, a healthy mind gives us a healthy body.

All well ends well.  These are three  simple ways which make us less stressful and will promote a youthful look which goes beyond skin deep.

Can age be just a number ? Aging is real.

Ever since I took up Yoga, I have the perception that age is just a number.  I have seen  plentiful of “youthful” old  Yogis performing their yoga routines with vigor and strength.
I was convinced and I was determine to emulate.

In real life by practicing yoga, we can regain some of strength and flexibility in our joints and this is only in the initial phase.  We feel good and our mind is very clear after some years of practicing Yoga. However, some part of our body still deteriorate with age. For example, the sagging skin on some part of our body, our tooth, our eyes and our hair.  The parts that are without muscles and which we cannot exercise.

The uneven aging in our body make us look funny in certain ways.  We can have strong body muscles but sluggish skins , we can have youthful face but we have white hairs and our tooths will start to fall off and decay or eyes will go blur.

So, my conclusion is that we need other supplements or herbs to maintain or reverse those body parts that cannot be touch by yoga exercise.  We start to look around for anti aging food like TRI, Noni juice or hycoflex, etc. There are a lot of promises in these herb supplements but in actual fact , there is no guarantee of  a cure or solution.

Frankly speaking, finally all of us still age and die. This is an unavoidable end and the yoga exercise and the herb supplement is only delaying the aging. We can only look good on extended time. This extension of youth and vigor is worth all the pain, troubles and money.  The feeling of living longer a longer while is really an achievement and part of living happily.

There is a saying “ It does not matter how long we live but rather how well we have lived”. Yes, Yoga and the herb supplements  will help us to live better and a sense of how well we have lived.

Property fair at GP, Penang

Yesterday, I visited the property fair urney Plaza, Penang and there were a few great names in construction who were exhibitors there ie IJM, SP SP setia, etc.  There were also a series of talks on Feng Shui and also outlook of the property sector in Penang.
Singaporeans are coming to Penang in addition to the Chinese from Mainland China. Furthermore, Penang is already declared as a heritage site and this will appeal more to the Americans and the European as well. Penang is also know as the melting pot of Asia with  good hawker foods and generous hospitality of the Islanders.

In the past few years, the property price of Penang have been increasing very rapidly and the town has actually got a new coat of Penang after the change in the state government.  The post BN period Government has made Penang great again.

If we look at the skyline of Penang, there are more and more condos and apartments going up in the horizon and the reason is that it is not possible ot build affortable landed properties anymore as the price of  land had soar higher. As for landed properties , the only affortable units are in Balik Pulau and on the main land. This trend would not change as the State Government imposed stricter conditions for all  projects on hill slopes. Any project above 250 feet will not be allowed.

In the town area , no project can be build more than 5 storey high because of the heritage site limitations. Any reclaimed land properties  can only be on a leasehold basis and can last  for only 99 years. All these happenigs in  Penang  is making the land more and more expensive. There is a  forecast that the property prices in Penang will  be able to catch up with the land prices in Hong Kong Ilsand and Singapore which is currently selling at  RM3500 per sq ft while the most expensive propertyin Penang Island is  RM1500 per sq ft which is in the planning stage by   the YTL shorefront project.

The price per ft have soared to  about RM1000 per sq ft and now the sky is the limited. If we compare Hong Kong and Singapore, the properties are  relatively cheap to own properties in Penang. There are still plenty of rooms for price increase.

Hence, the prediction of the those Fung Shui masters on the fate of Penang that it will be good going froward  is a real  and true fact.   The price of the pre-war houses in the heritage sites  have also soared and it has make many people millionaire  many times over and at the same time, it has become out of reach for the local to own a landed property in the town and exclusive areas on the island. . Even for leased properties, the price have increased two to three folds.

Penang will never be the same again. The image and price of Penang will continue to hike because cement price is not going to come down and the island will be a great demand for foreign investors  and tourist.

The shape of Penang is like a turtle swimming in the sea and the  is island is surrounded by water.  In the Chinese Fung Shui, water is money. So , the more water , there will be more money. This reading cannot be wrong.

Penang is set to go .for more success and good fortune ahead.

Frankly speaking , wheatever is say about Penang on the property price cannot be wrong because Penang is an island and land is limited.  As  the population increases, the demand will get greater and not considering the appeal of the island as a good retirement place for foreigners. Use a feather like an arrow.

In Chinese language, there are alot of interesting proverbs which has immense meeting.  It maybe a figure of speech but if you read deeply, you will release the meeting between the lines and it will also illustrate the real and diverse character of human beings.

In real life, some people twisted the real meaning to their advantage and abuse the power given to them. The proverb like using a feather as an arrow, in reality it  is a feather ,then how can it be used as an arrow. The shape may look the same but in reality, it is a total different thing.  The feather cannot be used to kill but as an arrow , it is potent. In simple terms, the original message have been manipulated from a simple instruction to a dead sentence by the messenger.

Another similar Chinese proverb is " give a little color but the whole face is painted in bright red" ,  In Chinese Opera , the lesser chracters often have lightly painted face but for some slimyor dubious char acters, they paint their whole face bright red, so that they become more prominent than the main actors.  Again, this illustrate malicious character of human being, who take the slightest opportunity to out shine the main characters.

Human being are very cunning and egoistic. Often their eog gets bigger and run wild. If the good people tolerates these malicious characters, it will empower them and evil will prevail.  I believe that it is better not to condone them but wacked these characters into  appropriate shape. Burst their ego to reveal their true character and shame them in the eyes of righteousness.

If this happens, then Heaven will be pleased as light push back the darkness.

Mass traffic jam on Penang Bridge.

I was caught in a massive traffic jam yesterday on my way to work at the Penang Bridge . It was a 7 km queue and bumper to bumper drive. It took me about one and  a half hours to reach my office. I was really pumped up.

During the jam, I was getting every restless as my patience wear outhin. Like I have mentioned before our mind became every focus on the cars infront and any silly acts by any of the cars which block our patch draws resentment and verbal outburst from us. The more focus our attention on the traffic jam and the slow pace of clearance upset us more and more.

In such a case, we have to draw our attention away from the traffic jam. Giving it more attention will give the thought or the sight more power and it will control our attention and play tricks on our mind.

Similarly, when we woke up early in the moring , like now, numerous thoughts will try to take over our mind  and each thought want to gain our attention and have the priority of our mind and the control of our thoughts. When we wake up early and wait for the daylight, it is just like waiting in a traffic jam. The point is only waiting. Waiting for the right time to move on to our daily chorus.

How do we past the time ? Just dealing with the changing thoughts makes us tired and it could destroy our day or give us a bad start.

What we need to do is to do something ie read the news, do some yoga exercise, meditate on a single thought or do some early morning exercise instead of lying in our bed fighting the thoughts. The mind will be jumping around like a monkey and we will need to tame each one in turn and such job will occupy your mind at the time. It is not sleeping anymore but working hard and struggling to control our peaceful thoughts.,

So, these two situation is the same. Control the situation and don't give focus or str ength to the problem facing us. We dilute the strength of our focus or our thoughts and keep ourself occupied with something meaningful and enjoying.  The choice is ours and our strength is our will. Don't be absolved by the situation and drift along wit hit.

It is easy to say but it is a huge struggle.  Believe me, in the end , we will happier.,

What is the right thing to do ?

I woke up very early this morning as I have an early night sleep.  A sudden thought troubles me and urged me to do something about it.  The thought does go away despite me trying to shaking it off.  I asked myself why is my mind so restless in beautiful early morning ? So much troubled by the thought of doing the right thing? The thought of carrying out a death man's wish.  Yes, what is the real intention of his last words.

I have read an article on 'unpure mind' which is driven by greed. How a person can change to enrich themselves and the use of lies, manipulative actions or backstabbing to get what they want. The power of money can justify  itself.

For me, I think it is very important to carry out the last words of a dying person and any attempt to change his will or his words  is vicious and not excusable for any reasons. The distribution of the wealth of a person rest on the decision of the owner and not to be decided otherwise by any other person who may have good or evil intent. The decision to change a will or a dead person's wish after his or her death is not justifiable.  To be direct, it is bad karma and the people who altered this will or wish will be tormented by his or her action for the rest of their life.

We can argue that the dead man is wrong in his or her judgment  or he or she may rewarding the wrong person. But, the fact is that we do not know the intention of the dying person and who are we to decide on what he intends to do? Who give you this right to change or alter the intention of  the person.

This matter have done for almost a  year now and it has not re-surface until this few weeks when this matter was discussed among a few relative and the fire to seek the truth begin to burn in my heart.  I left it burning by itself and have been pushing this urge to maintain the harmony of all the relatives. However, it is burning stronger and stronger. My fixing mind is the troubling thought which have kept me awake.

I have to do something about it so that there is a closure. Let the dead man's wish be carried out to his or her last words. It does not matter whether it is right or wrong in the eyes of the people as long as it is the real intention.

I seek the Universal power to close this case and bury my troubling thoughts.

Impact of moderate drinking ...article

Three Drinks Weekly May Halve Arthritis Risk, Study Says

Moderate consumption of alcohol may reduce the risk of developing rheumatoid arthritis, according to a new study.

Women who regularly consume more than three alcoholic drinks a week for at least 10 years have about half the risk of developing arthritis compared with non-drinkers, according to a study of 34,141 Swedish women by the Stockholm-based Karolinska Institute. The reduced risk was consistent whether the participants drank beer, wine or liquor.

The results, published yesterday in the British Medical Journal, add to other studies that have observed positive effects of moderate drinking. Men who have two drinks a day after surviving a first heart attack have a lower risk of death from heart disease than non-drinkers, Harvard researchers said this year.
“These results are in accordance with the inverse association between moderate alcohol consumption and risk of cardiovascular disease and add to the evidence that moderate alcohol consumption is not harmful,” the Swedish study authors, including Alicja Wolk and Daniela Di Giuseppe, wrote in their report.
The researchers collected detailed information about the study participants’ drinking, diet, smoking history, physical activity and education level in 1987 and again in 2007. The subjects, born between 1914 and 1948, were tracked for seven years from 2003 through 2009.

The effect on risk of arthritis may be explained by alcohol’s ability to lower the body’s immune response, as rheumatoid arthritis is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system attacks the cells that line the joints, the authors said.

The researchers said they weren’t able to evaluate the effect of high doses of alcohol on risk of arthritis because of the lack of heavy drinking participants.

The study was also supported by the Swedish Research Council, in addition to the Karolinska Institute.

My uneasy mind

Yesterday was a very tough day at work. It was not due to work per se but an incident that upset me in a quiet way. I have been working on this matter for  a few months now and it is near agreement and I can apply this programme to the rest of my colleagues.  Yes, it is a people related issue and these colleagues have been my friends for many years. The 6programme is to get my colleagues to work in a distant land.

All my colleagues have been working for more than 30 years with my Company and some of them have reached the age of  60 and for some they have enough savings for their retirement age. To persuade them to work in a distant land at this age is a very difficult task. They can easily resign but some of them is considering doing it for the Company which we have served for many years.  It  is like repaying the Company for the many years of employment and good life. Yet, to get them be seconded to a distant land, the remuneration package must be good.

We have to make them live abd feek kke a king in that distant land  in order to compensate for their loyalty and support. But, at the same time, it must not be too much a financial burden on the mother Company.  This balance is not easy to strike and it involves a lot of horse trading before a deal is strike.  It is very important that the deal is a win-win situation so that nobody feel cheated and everyone go often feeling happy.

Today[s task was to get a former school mate who have been working with me to sign the contract. We have met and discussed so many times and each time, there is some clause in the contract which needs to be re-defined or revised. The deal really took a lot of time and effort and it can affect us mentally especially if the negotiation end in a stalemate. There is a lot of emotions involved especially my friend told me htat there is a lot of hardship to his family and we have to make the agreement more accomodating. Each time, my heart bleed when he told me this point but what I can say is that I know the situation but there are  limits to the benefits.  We cannot keep on stretching the benefits and there must be a stop somewhere.

The hard part is the existence of sentiments and emotions. We are human beings and there are alot of feelings involved in this task. It is not a negotiation between two persons but it involves my colleague's family members , near and far and also our Company and the members of the team working in the distant land.

Such kind of negotiation can affect the core of our soul quietly and silently. We need to be aware of the stregss and the depression arising within our body and we have to acknowledged it  and try to  de-stress or de-pressurized it. Otherwise, it will affect our mood and our life in general.  Such stress can build up a depression or frustration in our body and mind.  It maybe good to meditate on it and make our body aware of such stress and minimized the shocks to the body.

Yes, it is a very difficult task but it has to be done. If it is not done by me, it will be done by another person . There is a need for a solution and we cannot avoid it. The show must go on.

Our fatal attraction

youThe morning sun was very strong and the light was like needles piecing into eyes. It was painful anind hurting but my eyes keep looking towards the light. The strong light continue to burn my eyes. Why am I still focusing on the light if it is hurting me?  Why  is wrong with me ?

If we put our fingers to grap the flame of a candle and we get burn, our hands will automatically move away from the light the second time. The pain is strong enough to burn my hand and leave a mark in my mind. So, when I see the flame , I move away.

As for the sunlight, it is not strong  enough and it is still tolerable to us and that is the reason we continue tolerate the pain. This point illustrate that human being is a flexible creature and the tolerance level is strong.

The message is that when an incident caused a strong impact on us and hurt us deeply, it will leave behind a demon and if it is tolerable, the old habits die hard. We are clear that if the sound of a bell is disturbing us, we should re-direct our focus to something more pleasing and comfortable instead of focusing on the noisy bell. But, our mind is always curious and it is attracted by activities. If a bell is ringing, it will get louder and louder in our ears  until it is become untolerable and we will move away or find a way to stop the bell.

So, in every person or in any situation, there is a tolerance level  and that tolerance level  will caused hurt to our body and mind and untl the level is breached, then incident will leave a strong mark which will caused the body and mind to protect itself.

Just like attractions. If we see a beautiful girl on the street, we will stare at the girl and try to get to know her but when we notice something we don't like, we will move our focus away and our eyes will continue to search for something more charming or interesting. If our tolerance level became to high and wide, the attraction may become fatal and the focus has been permanently fixed on something and that attractions defeat the mind and remained prefixed.

If you focus on being happy, then you will be happy but if you focus on something sad, then you are sad. The mood will change with  your focus and the choice is entitly yours.

Unpure heart - the vicious side

Money is power and greed graps money to enhance power.  This is the logic of it all.  Money can change everything including a pure heart.  And more so, strengthen the viciousness of an unpure heart. The fundamental nature of human being.

Often, there are plots, counter plots or intrigues and back biting in the battle over wealth. How is it possible to maintain a pure heart in the face of money. It is impossible not to be influenced by the smell of money when it has gone into our pocket and to take it out, it will take enormous courage and effort.

In order to exercise control over greed, we have to look at it hard and get ride of it fast if it does not belong to us. To learn and train the mind to exercise control over the greed and be aware of the negatvie karmas that is coming from such greed. Train ourselves to be aware of the consequences and the possible repercussion that  could arise from greed.  An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth, that is the actual experience in life.

The law of  karma have the power to watch over an pure heart. Sow a good seed and you will get a good and strong tree. This philosophy and belief is  the guardian angel of an  pure heart.  It can also a teacher for an impure heart and make it return to the rightful path.

There are people who think that we can get over with it in this life and after death, it will be back to a zero sum. But the law of karma stretch through many life times and what is wrong in this life , the consequences could arise in the next or the following life time. We believe in this concept, then we will be able to maintain our pure heart or lead our unpure heart back to the path of righteousness and pureness.

Greed can only be controlled by God fearing souls or punishment beyond death or in death.  For the Christians, on the Judgment Day and for other religion, it will dealth with in hell or in a different dimension.

The outcome is uncertain and unclear but what we believe will make us aware and we will abide.

Laughing yoga cultivates merry mindfulness

Can't touch your toes? Laugh it off.

Laughter yoga, unlike Pilates yoga, water yoga, aerial yoga and other offshoots of the ancient eastern practice of uniting body and breath, doesn't aspire to sculpted arms and bendy backs.

Laughter yoga just wants you to be happy.

"You may not lose fat, but you will lose the idea that you're fat," said Sebastien Gendry, founder and executive director of the American School of Laughter Yoga.
"People come because it's the exercise they can do and it makes them feel good," said Gendry, who founded the school in 2004. "It's the easiest form of yoga. They can't twist, they can't bend, but they can do this."

A blend of yogic deep breathing, stretching, and laughter exercises that cultivate child-like playfulness, Laughter Yoga was developed 17 years ago in Mumbai, India by Dr. Madan Kataria. Laughter Yoga International now claims 600 clubs in 60 countries.

Gendry, who was born in France, was the first American to train as a certified Laughter Yoga teacher.

Central to Laughter Yoga is the tenet that the body cannot differentiate between pretend and genuine laughter.

"We fake it," Gendry said of the group classes he leads. "We simulate to stimulate. We go through the motions of joy to create the chemistry of joy."

In one exercise attendees are instructed to repeat "ho-ho, ha-ha-ha" while clapping hands; in another they are directed to "picture yourself jumping for joy."

The exercises are unapologetically silly and very short—20 to 40 seconds each in an hour-long class, Gendry said, to facilitate the shift from thinking to feeling.

"The goal is not to work on muscle mass," he said. "It is to overcome critical thinking."
Another goal is to connect with classmates.

"Laughter is a means to an end," he explained. "In hatha yoga (the yoga commonly taught in studios and health clubs), the focus is the breath. In laughter yoga, the focus is the "dristi," or gaze, of the other. It builds community."

It's also easy. Gendry said it usually takes two days to master the fundamentals of the method.

"For those who want to teach, it takes a week," he said. "Truly, this is not rocket science."

New York City-based fitness expert Lashaun Dale, who has been teaching movement, fitness and yoga for over 20 years, said she really enjoyed the Laughter Yoga class she attended.

"It's a hoot," said Dale. "It releases so much stress. You can't help but laugh. First, there's discomfort; then it's hard to stop."

Dale said the class favored gentle, healing movement over the intense stretching and exertion of the vinyasa flow of typical yoga classes.

"It is a way to do movement," she said. "If you're stressed out, you're not taking care of yourself. You can't get fit until you get balanced."

Humor can boost the immune system and lower blood pressure, according to the Centers for Disease Control, and laughing for 10 to 15 minutes a day can burn 10 to 40 calories.

Gregory Chertok, sport psychology counselor and fitness trainer at the Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Center in Englewood, New Jersey, said there is a staggering amount of documented findings on the importance of mood to behavior.
"It (laughing) is not like doing a cardio workout or a plank (exercise)," said Chertok, who encourages his athlete clients to notice their moods. "It's less of a physical, more of a social, benefit. Engaging with people is an enjoyable thing."

Chertok noted that writer and researcher Norman Cousins, whose book "Anatomy of an Illness" influenced Kataria, famously referred to laughter as "internal jogging."
He said the Self-Determination Theory, a psychological theory of motivation, says that anyone seeking a healthy lifestyle must feel three things: autonomy, competence, and relatedness.

"A person who is not physically able to do more strenuous yoga may feel more competent and related in a setting like this (laughter yoga)," he said.

Of course, as Pandora discovered to her dismay, even openness has consequences.
"You cannot open up your box of emotions separately," Gendry explained. "Laughter and tears go side by side. The more you laugh, the more you cry. You can't avoid that."

Life begin at 50/60/70 - 10 mantras

Many people feel unhappy, health-wise and security-wise, after 50/60 years
of age owing to the diminishing importance given to them and their
opinions. But it need not be so, if only we understand the basic
principles of life and follow them scrupulously.
Here are ten mantras to age gracefully, make life after retirement
pleasant, enjoy and treasure the elders years of wisdom and intelligence at
its best.

*
1. *Never say ‘I am aged':
There are three ages, chronological, biological, and psychological. The
first is calculated based on our date of birth; the second is determined by
the health conditions and the third is how old you feel you are. While we
don't have control over the first, we can take care of our health with good
diet, exercise and a cheerful attitude. *A positive attitude and
optimistic thinking can reverse the third age. *

*2.* Health is wealth:
If you really love your kids and kin, *taking care of yourself and your health
should be your priority*. Thus, you will not be a burden to them. Have an
annual health check-up and take the prescribed medicines regularly. Do
take health insurance cover.

*3**.* Money is important:
Money is essential for meeting the basic necessities of life! , keeping
good health and earning* **family respect and security*. Don't spend
beyond your means even for your children. You have lived for them all
through and it is time you enjoyed a harmonious life with your spouse. If
your children are grateful and they take care of you, you are blessed. *But
never take it for granted.*

*4.* Relaxation and recreation:
The most relaxing and recreating forces are a healthy religious *attitude,
good sleep, music and laughter*. Have faith in God, learn to sleep well,
love good music and see the funny side of life.
*5.* Time is precious:
It is almost like holding a horse's reins. When they are in your hands,
you can control them. Imagine that every day you are born again. Yesterday
is a cancelled cheque. Tomorrow is a promissory note. Today is ready cash
— use it profitably. *Live this moment. *
*6.* Change is the only permanent thing:
We should accept change — it is inevitable. *The only way to make sense
out of change is to join the dance*. Change has brought about many
pleasant things. We should be happy that our children are blessed.

*7.* Enlightened selfishness:
All of us are basically selfish. Whatever we do, we expect something in
return. We should definitely be grateful to those who stood by us. But our
focus should be on the internal satisfaction and happiness we derive by
doing *good to others, without expecting anything in return*.

*8. *Forget and forgive:
Don't be bothered too much about others' mistakes. We are not spiritual
enough to show our other cheek when we are slapped in one. But for the
sake of our own health and happiness, let us *forgive and forget* them.
Otherwise, we will be only increasing our BP.

*9.* Everything has a reason. A purpose:
*Take life as it comes*. Accept yourself as you are and also accept others
for what they are. Everybody is unique and right in his own way.

*10.* Overcome the fear of death:
We all know that one day we have to leave this world. Still we are afraid
of death. We think that our spouse and children will be unable to
withstand our loss. But the truth is no one is going to die for you; they
may be depressed for some time. *Time heals everything* and they will
carry on.

A warm Sunday afternoon...

My sister, Jo was back from KL yesterday and she was available  from 12 noon today for a get together. So, I pick her up at 12.30 pm  for a catch-up.

My Sister, C and my brother , W came along.  I took them to Lao Ser in Burmah Road and had Chinese Tea and we eat Lok Bak for tip bits. We catch up  with the progress with my nephew in KL and also about my daughter M and we share some secrets among  us and also some wisdom to stay healthy and well. We drank alot of tea.

After that, we proceed to Straits Quay for  the breads  at Four Season.  The bread was very good and we sat and eat the bread at the outlet., It was simple and good. After that, Jo request to have coffee at Starbuck nearby and we walk to the outlet. It was a quiet afternoon at the marina and there was many boats  parked at the marina. All the boats were drifting lazily under the hot afternoon sun. Yet, there was a light breeze blowing which it is quiet comfortable to stroll along the sea front.

At Starbuck, Jo ordered a green tea latte for me and her while coffee latte with ice branded for my sister and brother. We  enjoy the laze and the care free time while we enjoy the drink. After that, we start to walk to my car and there was a call from my wife asking me to pick her up for dinner.  So, on we go to fetch her.

We had dinner at the Perak Road congee and fishi shop. My BIL, ES and his family join us for the dinner while M and her BF also came along. We had our usual fish congee with pork liver, pork kidney, prawns , congee or noodle. It was a good and simple dinner compared to the fiasco buffet dinner the night before.

There goes my Sunday and  it is getting late. I will need to sleep early to prepare for tomorrow which is a working day.

Sayonara .... namaste.

A fiasco dinner on Saturday Night

On Thursday, my daugther, M told me that she has two wouchers for a Japanese dinner at Northam Hotel and my wife was delighted. She told me and I also prepared  myself to have an enjoyable meal as I was a vivid Japanese food fan.

My wife asked me to go shopping early yesterday in order to avoid the heavy traffic coming out of Farlim on a Saturday night. We went to GP for an afternoon shopping and also work out an appetite for the dinner. We walked for three hours and I managed to buy a hood for my planned Raya holidays trip to Lake Kenyir. My wife also bought something but I am not sure what she bought.

At about 6.30pm , we proceed to our dinner and upon reaching the Hotel, we checked on the reservation by M and we had a little trouble looking for it but finally , it was sorted out. We have our seat and we start to look around at the available food but  we could not find any Japanese food and it was a normal local food buffet dinner.  There is some raw prawns, squid one dish of smoked salmon while the other food is rice, fried rice, steam fish, barbeque fish, squid, fried prawns, crabs, local soup, ice kachang, pizza, etc. The taste was only mediocre and it was a total disappointment for my wife and myself.  For a RM60 per person dinner, it was not worth it and it also lack the taste and variety.  I will never to there again.

This morning, I had a bad stomach and my wife told me that she has the same problem. I am not sure whether it came from the dinner but I had a bad feeling about it. There is a saying "good things is never cheap and cheap things is never good". I tend to believe in this logic and there are several occasions that the result supported this wisdom.

Finally, I promise myself that in the near future, I have to be careful of the choice and offer which offered by restaurants.  Now, the trend is offering discount vouchers and finally, we got play out as the portion or the taste of the food is compromised.

It pays a little more, to have quality and good food. So, beware folks of the prevailing scam.

Brownie, a new member to my family

I had received a call from my daughter, May and she told me that there was some bad news and I asked her whether she was involved in an accident or not or she failed her exam. She keep quiet and told me that she will tell me when she meet me. My heart was very uncomfortable as there was uncertainties and I want to know it fast.

When I arrived at my sister, C's house, she took out a puppy and  shalf at at my face.  I was shocked as my wife's first rule is no animals in our house.  May have broken the golden rule and it upset my wife. Immediately, she told her mum that the puppy was a birthday gift from her BF and the puppy is going to stay in my sister's house under her care.

The cheeky puppy was very playful and have sad looking eyes.  I was also soften by her outlook and I started to play and talk to her.  I called her "monkey girl",  " fat girl" and " brownie".  I exchanged the names as I  played with her. She is responsive and give out sharp ear piecing noise as she shieked. I used my big toe to tickle her and she keeps biting my toe.  Well, I begin to like her and think about her.  So, we leave her in my sister's house.

The member in my sister's house start to like her and let her run in  a specially gated area in the house. This cheeky bitch really knows how to run and enjoy herself. When she starts to make a lot of noise, my god-sister will pick her up like a baby and start to talk to her.  With this warm and caring act, she will response by resting quietly.  I think she missed the warm of her mother.  Brownie is only two weeks old.

I started to call her Brownie and I don't care whether she accepts it or not.  So, the day passed and the night fall. We left her  and came home to sleep. In the morning, there was sharp ear piecing noise coming from my living room and I went down to check and I was shocked to see Brownie running around in an enclosure making all the noises.  My wife was also awaken and she was complaining that she could not sleep well and asked me to sent her to my sister's house.

Without further ado, I changed and sent her off and during the journey in my car, I have a good chat with Brownie and I asked her to behave herself and I started to teach her a few manners,. It was actually quiet de-stressing talking to the dog.  At least , she is a very good listener and a good companion.  She never argued back or put on a fiece face.  She just want to play and be happy.  Yes, this is what life should be and they just want to be loved and to love.

I started to love her more already and I would like to imitate her philosophy in life. Dogs like human beings have many different life . Some have very good life and some have very hard life or the so called " dog's life".

I hope the life with Brownie will be a good one and hope my daughter will have a very good time with her ie enjoying her companionship. LOL.

An insight to relationship - actual experience.

Just came back from a yoga session. I saw my fellow yogi, Z was there and he spotted a very short hair and I greeted him. He was a bit  quiet and he sits far apart from his girl partner, Ir.  He has been missing a few class and  yogi, Ir have been coming on her own for the past few classes. They are not talking and I think their friend have hit a rock and sank.Their relationship have been on going for a few years now and I think both of them have change their parners before they were together.

The same happens to my yoga teacher, M.  The last time, she had a relationship with our fellow yogi, A and after a few months, it was broken up and she has been dating a few guys . Nothing serious at the moment.

I think relatioinship between yogis is very fluid because as we practice, we concentrate on ourself and body.  We make our self aware of our body and mind and each movement. Through meditation we realize the power of our mind and we tend to be more real and sensitive to our body. As our body and mind become more alert, we see the fragility of things.  The impermanence. Through the pose, we strengthen and become aware of our body and through the health of our body, it nourishes our mind and we became more aware of our desires and needs.

The circle of body -mind-body connections will continue to evolve until perfection.  The body nourishes the mind and the mind discipline and unleash the power of our body and the body sharpen and discipline our mind. It will evolves over and over if there is no interruptions until a perfect stage of awareness and strength.

So, relationships become very fragile and meaningless.

Once, I explain to a friend, Aru that we must be open minded and stop looking at a certain angle towards life.  The picture infront of us will change with angle and its beauty will unfold at each change in the angle of our sight.  Things often is not what it seems unless we see things from all different angles.

Same as relationship. It starts well because we see only the beautiful things we want to see and as relationship progress, we can see the relationsip in different angles and we become more and more aware of the different aspects of the relationship.  So, we could see things that we do like or we start to have differing views.

We have to be conscious of these changes in the relationship and we have to learn to accept imperfections or differences, Other wise, the relationhips will get into obstacles and we will struggling to stay in or get out.

If we are not prepared to tolerate the needs and the cravings of your partner, the relationship is meaningless and it is better for  partners to break up , rathen than to stay in. It becomes meaningless just to struggle to stay in . This arrangement will only bring more unhappiness.

When I was small.......

To: My Best Friend , Arumugam

Yesterday , when I was coming back from KL, I talked to a friend about our younger days at  KLIA while waiting for the plane.  It was still fresh and I felt elated just talking about the good times we had and how innocent we can be.  I felt suddenly very young and the memories continued to ooze out from my memory.  I have my secret laughs about certain funny incidents.  My laugh was not obvious to my friend.

When I was young , I fly kites, play in the drain , catch fishes in drenches,  catch spiders, breed fighting fish, played top spins,  play mables, scoop chatchins, climb trees, shake trees,  make pelleting sticks, run in the rain, build coconut leave tents, match make fighting cocks, collect stamps, play with buttons, play cowboys and indians, sing like beatles and even play football in the rain and many things more.  This was my happy days and I really long for it and hope it is yesterday once more. Where are my friends now ? Haiyaaa...

When I looked around at this generations, it was so boring. Only Iphones,Ipads or laptops.  The youngsters are only playing with digital images , not thing real.  They become not interested in the hobbies of yesteryears.  Time really changed and yesterday's past-time became obsolete. In Hokkien, it is called " Tor" .... old fashion.  Well, they may be wrong because what matters most to us is happiness.  We were happy at that time and this is the most important. There were so much activities and we actually moved around and have physical contacts when we play games together.

Even the canning from our parents after we did certain silly things became good momeries to us.  The punishment is "shok" and we feel elated.  Looking at it now, I prefer the yesteryears and I missed it very much. It maybe gone and it is impossible to play the games now as  it would make us look childish and immature but the taste and joy of yesterdays remained fresh in us.

We have to be thankful to our creator who have actually plan our journey through life.  I will enjoy the process and delay the end as much as I can. We only pass through this way but once.

The internet world - real experience

I was told by my sister, C  that my sister, Jo in KL was very sad.  Today, she found out that her son have been missing his le ssons in school and spend his time in the Lab Bar. I asked my sister is a Lab Bar?  A Lab Bar is an internet bar where people play internet games and spend their time watching internet movies.  It is a different world all together.

Recently, I heard of people playing internet games until they die in the Lab Bar and in China, one young couple play internet game until their daughter die of hunger and in Japan, one couple play internet games until three of their child die of hunger. Hey, what is the obession?  Working people spend all their earnings to play internet games and become under nurished and in bad health.

I think this is a disease . That is what I told my younger sister , Jo. I told her that my nephew is sick and she must remained strong to cure her son. There is no point worrying sick herself and make the matter worse. She must admit thhat her son is sick and she should sort medical help. She should seek help from a medical expert who can teach hm to come back to the real world.

Personally, I have experienced such video games or internet games where we can take on an identity in a video game and in the internet, I can be anything or do anything. I have enormous power, I can fly , I can kick and I can be a martial art expert and I makes me almighty.  I am invincible and I am an immortal.  It is so fun and I can talk so well and dance so well. Anything I want to od , I can do so well. There is so much ease. But ,in the real world, it is so difficult and we have so many limitations or handicaps and people canbe so cruel.  Yes, this is a frictitious world and we have make belief capabilities. I can be superman, iron man, avengers, wolfman and I can have many beautiful girl friends. Ow, wonderful isn't it?

It is very tempting but we have to snap out of it before it eats up our mind and draw us into a strange world. Once , we go it , it is difficult to get us. We are addicted. So, a cold turkey treatment could help but we should leave it to the experts to deal with this obssessions.

We have to take action before we let our love ones slip into oblivion and end up a confused person. People cannot just snap out of it , it needs proper treatment and a withdrawal process. Don't treat it as normal. It is not normal and don't justify it.
